Greetings Capsuleers,

Fanfest 2022 is quickly approaching and it’s hard to believe that in just over 7 weeks’ time, we will finally be welcoming you to the ultimate Party at the Top of the World in Reykjavík. We can’t tell you how much we at CCP are looking forward to meeting you again in person to share the exciting plans for EVE Online. As we all continue to get into the spirit of Fanfest, there’s still much to look forward to on the road to getting there. So far, the Road to Fanfest has been filled with a slew of updates including significant changes to compression, a new mysterious mining adventure added to the NPE, sizeable graphical updates, sweeping boosts to every resistance module in the game, balance changes to CRAB, and player owned customs offices (POCOs), as well as extensive updates to battleships, all of which you can read about in the Road to Fanfest blog[www.eveonline.com] from last week.

There’s still a little time to go until Fanfest 2022 is here, and there’s much mor... Read more
Greetings, brave capsuleers!

As a part of our ongoing efforts to lay the foundations for EVE Online’s third decade and continually improve the world’s largest living work of science-fiction, we’re happy to introduce the Feature Preview system – allowing players to opt-in and engage with complex features still undergoing active development, test driving them directly in the EVE client.

Our aim is to more fully incorporate feedback into our prototypical process by allowing you access to these features early while we design them. Your invaluable feedback on past features has already allowed us to improve and shape them into better additions to EVE – and this new way of testing will allow far more exposed development, enabling earlier chances for players to express important feedback while also allowing our team to gather information on how you play EVE and what will best aid you in that pursuit.

The preview system is available on Singularity and comes to Tranquility in April. The debut pr... Read more
Hard partying Capsuleers,

There are now just 48 days until EVE Fanfest kicks off in Iceland! Fanfest represents the ultimate coming together of the EVE community – a chance to celebrate our achievements, party hard, take in presentations from developers and expert players, contribute to roundtables, join some tournament play, and a whole lot more. Make sure to get your ticket[www.eveonline.com]!

After four years without an in-person Fanfest, this year more than ever it is also a chance to connect with your fellow Capsuleers, and even catch-up in-person with fellow pilots you’ve only seen online in recent years. There really is no other gaming community event like Fanfest - because there really is no other gaming community like EVE’s.

The infamous Fanfest Party at the Top of the World will return along with the traditional Reykjavík pub crawl, and a host of unofficial social gatherings (not included in the ticket price) between 2-8 May. There will also be a charity dinner, as well as a sil... Read more

Everyone is invited so be sure to head over for prizes, SKINs, capital kills, and more. And in Rixx Javix’s own words: it is difficult to explain just how much fun these events actually are. The best way is to experience them for yourself.”

GLORIOUS BATTLESHIPS

The changes to the beloved battleships of EVE are now live in-game, improving their mobility and survivability on the battlefield. A new role bonus has been added to all empire, faction, marauder, and black ops battleships (apart from the Praxis) which increases the effectiveness of armor plates by 50%, and bumps shield extenders by 100%. In addition, a +5% additive bonus to the hull hitpoint bonus from reinforced bulkheads has been incorporated to strengthen a battleship’s ability to hull tank. Lastly, large micro jump drive fitting requirements have also been reduced substantially.

Speaking of battleships, many scintillating SKINs for this class of vessel will be on sale between 8-16 March in EVE Online’s New Eden Store, including examples from the Eden’s Hunters, Ghost’s Hex, Vampire’s Hex, and Steel Cardinal SKIN lines to name but a few. Gotta stay sharp to look sharp!

A week from the update, battleships have been the official cause of death for 2.6 million NPCs, ... Read more
