Build-loving Capsuleers,

Since the Star Citizen community challenged us to a LEGO build off a lot has happened. The Battle of the Bricks event has seen LEGO master builders and newcomers alike recreate classic ships from EVE Online and Star Citizen, with each community keen to prove they are the best when it comes to reimagining spacecraft in the iconic bricks.

The submissions from both communities have been incredible and varied, from the playfully minimal to the mind-blowingly ambitious, via the likes of fascinating LEGO Technic builds.

With all the submissions in as digital renders, now comes the fun part. The best LEGO builds sent in will now be built in LEGO live on a special stream that will bring together the EVE Online and Star Citizen teams. But to mix it up, CCP staff will build the best Star Citizen ship, while the Cloud Imperium crew will make the winning EVE Online spacecraft.

The whole stream will also let us crown the winning submissions and reveal prizes, while rais... Read more
Greetings, Capsuleers!

It’s been a while since our last update on the efforts of the Security team in their battle against Real Money Trading (RMT), botting, account hacking, and fraud – so without further ado, let’s jump right into this comprehensive overview and update on EVE’s security!

Who is Team Security?
First, we’d like to cover who exactly is on the team, and what each member does. In the past year there have been both leavers and joiners, with the current team comprising:
  • CCP Grimmi and CCP Stinger, two full time security analysts whose existence is dedicated to hunting down bot farms and credit card fraudsters.
  • Senior GM Aisling and Senior GM Huginn, who focus on anti-RMT (ISK or Item selling/buying) and account security.
  • A team of programmers who work on bot detection software tools while also sharing their time across other Customer Support projects.
Team Security members contribute to each other’s investigations, and we regularly update one another on different trends and... Read more

In the last episode[www.eveonline.com], we saw some great projects from the community, including the Battle of Bricks Lego Submissions, a beautiful watercolor, and the plans for a player-run Federation Day Event! Let's quickly touch on that final point event and get things rolling with this edition of the Community Beat!

Poster Perfect
Federation Day was a massive success last weekend seeing celebrations across multiple Gallente systems! One of the events we featured last week was a poster design contest - we’d like to say a big congratulations to Miyoshi Akachi[forums.eveonline.com] for their submission below. We had a look through the submissions ourselves and there was a lot of tough competition, but well done to everyone who submitted an entry!

As a part of the same event, a conga line was formed over in Luminaire where Che Biko[forums.eveonline.com] captured a great shot of the capitals being illuminated of the fireworks being fired from the conga line.

Tachyonic Capsuleers,

Do you like your combat close-up, chaotic, and on the edge of control? Then head over to the Abyssal Proving Grounds for a four-player Thorax free-for-all from 24 June-to-26 June.

Hosted as part of the Federation Day celebration, this Proving Grounds round has been structured to emphasize the close combat that Thoraxes excel at. To really focus the action on getting up-close-and-personal, all ships that enter this Proving Grounds round will receive a bonus that decreases turret optimal range by 50%, and increases turret falloff by 50%, meaning you’ll need to focus on close-quarters attacks.

And there also happens to be a 40km wide tachyon cloud lurking in the centre of the arena, which dramatically increases your speed. Ships in the cloud will see velocity lift 300%, while inertia will drop by 50%.

Close range combat and wild fluctuations in speed? This round will bring chaos and fun to all who join in!

While in the arena they will also enjoy double the benefits gained... Read more
o7 fellow Capsuleers and we are back again with another hit of the Community Beat!

In the last episode[www.eveonline.com], we covered some of the ongoing projects in the community which have now concluded, so lets us wrap them up!

The Anger Games 5

The Anger Games 5 has now concluded after 3 weekends over on the Twitch[twitch.tv] channel, with congratulations to the first place winners “Only | Need | Two | Comps”, who walked away with an impressive haul of 32,300 PLEX and a bundle of 42 Triumphant Elite SKiNs. Damassys Kadesh, captain of the winning team this year shared with us the module status after one of the rounds in the tournament and things looked a little toasty!

The Tournament was intense, seeing a huge variety of ships used, but the hard-earned victories meant that every team scoring at least one win walked away with at least 7 skins! We look forward to hopefully seeing more tournaments soon, but we would recommend dropping by the Anger Games Discord[discord.gg] where teams ar... Read more

Battle-hungry Capsuleers!

To mark Anger Games 5, another intense Proving Grounds awaits you. This time, you’ll need to fit your best battleships and go toe-to-toe in a 1v1 showdown scheduled for 12 June.

To spice things up, you and your opponents will enjoy double the benefits of overheating the following module groups:
- Tackle Modules
- Propulsion modules
- Repair Modules
- Resistance Modules
- Energy Warfare Modules
- Turrets
- Launchers

In other words, expect this one to go off with a bang!

A tough challenge demands juicy rewards, of course. Dish out at least 15,000 damage to your opponent, and you’ll receive a 100m ISK reward for your efforts. Even better, the challenge is repeatable, giving you the opportunity to make some serious bank throughout the day.

As always, there are certain restrictions to keep you on your toes when planning your fits. You won’t be able to enter the combat arena if you have a ship within your frigate escape bay, and you must only fit a single Local Repair Module (s... Read more
First-class Capsuleers,

The Abyssal Proving Grounds are home to some of the most dramatic, entertaining and energetic PvP action New Eden has to offer. And for 11 June only, they are open for an event that’s perfect for new pilots... and nostalgic veterans that like a unique challenge.

If you’re new to EVE Online, or still to taste the thrill of Proving Grounds combat, this is the event for you and your starter ship. And if you’ve put hundreds of hours into mastering competitive play, it’s time to prove how skilful you really are by showing what’s possible with a classic corvette and a friend.

2v2 corvette combat is the focus, meaning diving into the action at the helm of one of EVE’s most basic, underpowered spacecraft – the corvette that is every Capsuleer's first class of ship. The result will be fun and frantic in equal measure, as pilots join this Anger Games special[www.eveonline.com]. And thanks to the 2v2 nature, you’ll be working side-by-side with an ally – another reason ... Read more
