Thank you for your feedback, we will look into this. Could you create a bug report via the bug report system in the launcher?

You can already add your Steam account using the green button on the login screen. Full Steam support will be added when the launcher leaves Beta.

The new launcher follows the “download everything” behavior, so it’s downloading the remaining resources that you would have to opt-in for on the current launcher.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to join us in the EVE Launcher beta. The path has been laid by the CSM delegates and ISD volunteers, as we received indispensable feedback from them early on in our closed alpha phase.

We hope you will give the new EVE Launcher a try, and we would love to hear your feedback. Should you encounter any issues, please file a bug report from within the launcher, and should there be something blocking you completely from starting the game client, you can of course switch back to the current launcher for the time being. If you do we would truly appreciate if you would let us know why either with a bug report, or a reply to this forum post.

We are planning a mass test on Singularity, on Thursday, April 13th, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time) to test improvements to shadows and other changes.

What exactly is being tested?

• Changes to shadows - especially testing client performance and stability, but they should also look good.
• Changes to antialiasing - also mostly checking client performance and stability.
• Two server performance checks (for fleet warps and for combat).

The changes will be deployed to Singularity tomorrow, Wednesday,.

How to connect to Singularity for this test:

• Change the server from Tranquility to Singularity in the bottom right corner of the launcher and log in as normal.
• More detailed instructions are available here.

Test instructions:

• Join fleet W or X through fleet finder
• For shadows and antialiasing it is recommended to use high graphic settings (especially for shader quality).

I asked the GMs to reply to you and look into it further. We’re not aware of any startup crashing issues on macOS. We’ve tested on both Intel and Apple Silicon based systems and not been able to find any problems.

There is actually a method to increase your faction standings relatively quickly using the Data Centers. EVE University, as always, has a great reference page for these: Data centers - EVE University Wiki

Essentially, this allows you to quickly raise your Empire standings such that you can enlist with your preferred empire without having to spend an inordinate amount of time grinding standings through Storyline missions.

If you do report those issues they will get the proper punishment

We don’t trust the client. The server and only the server is authoritative on the state and progression of the simulation.

We have thought about that; there are e.g. cases where we don’t need to track every single shot on a ship when it is clearly destroyed already. But then killmails would become inaccurate since the shots we decided to throw away since they didn’t matter would have been… thrown away.

We’re not aware of crashing issues with the Mac client since the fix we deployed yesterday.

If you are experiencing crashing, please file a bug report so we can investigate. Feel free to tag me and @CCP_Habakuk in the ticket.

It is worth making sure you have “download everything” turned on in the launcher, as this has sometimes caused problems when the connection has been unstable and the client is fetching assets.

This issue should be resolved in today’s patch
