  • Description: In both champion select or in the runes section of the client, the whole game freezes and takes about 30 seconds to let me interact with the runes and change them, and any click or interaction with it has a delay.
  • Steps to reproduce: Go into any game of SR or ARAM and edit runes, or go to the runes page within the client and try to edit them.
  • Expected result: The runes page loads correctly in the normal and allows the player to change them with no lag or delay.
  • Observed result: The runes page takes a lot of time to load and lags the whole game.
  • Reproduction rate: 100%
  • System specs: Intel Celeron, 4GB RAM, Windows 10

Our dev confirmed that this is intended. This is related to the CEF network service. Chromium split a lot of work up to reduce crashing and improve recovery. We chose to keep them separate instead of wrapping them into one service, making the client more robust.

Discord and Slack do the exact same thing with their processes.

I've seen that before too, but not really sure why that happens. I think the main thing is that as long as all the processes combined stay below 500mb ish, you should be fine.

Appreciate the report. I was hoping this bug was related to the practice tool issue, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm working on tracking this down.

Appreciate the info. I'm hoping you're seeing the English names because those new skins just haven't been localized yet. As for Patch Notes and Overview, I'm not quite sure yet.

Mostly, so far as I am writing this message it only does mixed in Runes page, Emote names seem translated, Eternals, skin names while looking at a champions page (not in collection, Store itself looks to be translated as well. In TFT page itself the "Battle Pass, Match history, TFT Missions, Upgrade and Free are untranslated while pass rewards are translated.

Keep in mind this for Hungarian client only, I have no idea if these apply to other clients language.

Is this the case on live or just PBE? Can you try reproducing this on the pbe build that goes out today?

Language settings are ignored by the client.

Like everywhere in the client or just specific places? I'm aware of a bug right now where changing locales is not working at all.

Hi! May this be the reason for my game bugging whenever I alt tab? I alt-tab a lot to change music while playing, but since yesterday whenever I do it my game bugs and won't let me go back to the game. I click the icon and nothing happens, even if i close the process i can't go back.

Are you playing in borderless (as opposed to fullscreen or windowed)? If not, I'd suggest starting with that!

Hey! I came to report a bug that's been bothering me for some time now. Sometimes when I try to log in and click play, the client appears to be loading and normally you'd think it could be a connection issue but it never loads and so I always have to close it and redo the whole process. It never happened more than once and was always working after I restart the client so I think it's indeed not my connection but rather some bug to do with the client. While it's still loading it shows me the friend list box but its empty, i can see my in game name and my icon gets changed to an old default one which I'm not sure what it's supposed to be but I always assumed it was like an old minion or something. It has a yellow background with some red dynamic lines and it's like this wooden thing with white eyes and it has spikes and arms and holds a shield or something like that.. Hopefully my comment wasn't confusing haha 😭😅

I forgot to mention something, sometimes I'm also unable to pick a skin and my connection is fine. I'd be able to change runes and spells and ward skins but the regular skin would still have a golden frame over the skin I picked last time but no matter how many times click on another skin that I'd like to play, it still ends up staying on the one which I used last time (also I never had high ms or lagged after experiencing this, so it was some kind of champ select bug for sure

The icon you're describing is the default one for when you are disconnected from the server, so it kind of makes sense in a roundabout way because you don't seem to be connecting on the first try for some reason.

Have you tried running the repair tool or just actually reinstalling? I wonder if you have a corrupt file somewhere...

what about the new loading screen? were the animations changed on purpose or is it a bug? because switching a champion card back and forth lacks any sort of animation and it feels extremely clunky.

This isn't related to our changes, but I will pass this on to the dev team!

Last night I updated the PBE client on my laptop, it started downloading and everything looked normal. When I tried to log in though, it sort of froze before the usual "loading" screen, and it doesn't go any further than that. Can't even close the client from that point, have to use the task manager. This has happened every time I have tried to open the PBE client. Regular client in EUW works as usual, it's only the PBE that does this for me. Will try troubleshooting and restarting my laptop but it's weird.

Hmmm, I don't like the sound of that. Is it possible to send a video of what you're experiencing?

Thanks so much, I appreciate it! I've been dying to have a look at some the new skins ingame myself (and not only watch videos of them) but don't feel like committing to a full summoner's rift game on high ping, so not getting into a practice game has been a bummer.

You can create a custom game and check them out! The only downside is that you don't have access to the cheats menu.
