ARK Survival Evolved Dev Tracker

RaamRebirth

Ok, some informations I have gathered and tested for hours to help...:

- Deleting the folder : "Saved" in "\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame" and create a new game solve the issue.

- I was able to get the bug while traveling with a fast flying mount between in and out of the dome rapidly.

- While in the dome itself, meaning not outside but not inside, I can see the dome rendered correctly.

- The dome glitch was here but not for all of my mount, while using a phoenix the glitch was here but not while using a snow owl.

- The glitch alway occured while riding a phoenix from the mod "Royal Phoenix" which is a fast flyer mount with light effect.

- Roll back to a previous save before the glitch occur solve the problem.

I've tried many fix:

- Deleting -sm4 and many other things in my launch option.

- Adjusting my settings, and so on...

Hope this might help you, I know getting some feedback alway help. And as alway, sorry for my bad english.

Awesome! thanks for all of the details!

Thanks, I hate it.

Either way, you're officially the cool dev in my eyes now. 😉

Woo!

I understand your side better now, thanks. However, S+ adds a lot more than just alternative building structures. Some stuff like the Nanny or the pull system obviously won't be added to Homestead. More servers run S+ than any other mod, so this is going to be a bigger and bigger problem as things progress.

Thankfully, he made S+ open source so it's just a matter of finding the right person or group to work on a fork.

Well, we are discussing options from our side, so hopefully we'll have a fix... one that doesn't result in people losing anything and that at the very least prevents this overlap issue from blocking off standard functionality to a mod. A non-destructive solution is extremely important to us.

It's actually something that could affect other mods right now if they have any classes that share names between each other or with the base game, it just hasn't really been run into because the modding community adopted a naming habit early on, so it is something that I would like to see handled a bit more gracefully by the system.

I know all of your (legit) ARK secrets!!! All of them. Now if I can just get someone from WC to tell me how overdamage is actually calculated for dinos and confirmation that it doesn't exist for humans/mantis, that'd be dandy... Trying to silence everyone telling me having more than 500% melee on an anky gets better results. EDIT: The only official thing from WC ever stated on the topic is a patch note from years ago and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you !

About NPC crewmates, do you mean that you can't recruit any NPC on a private server ?

You can recruit them. Was just saying that you will likely need them as opposed to them being optional.

/u/ZenRowe this should be an easy fix, though it could take a little time. These guys have already done the legwork for orionsun, can you help us make sure he gets the time to fix it please?

I have actually already raised the issue, and a discussion has begun on how best to handle it. There are a lot of potential fixes (some easy, some not), but many of them are high-impact and not likely to be implemented.

One thing that should be noted is that, while we want to prevent overlap conflicts like this: Homestead is not designed to work with S+ or be a mix & match system, it's one or the other. So any fix that may be implemented is likely going to continue following that stance.

Maybe a video showcasing why using narcoberries to keep a tame knocked out is almost always better than using narcotic/ascerbic mushrooms/biotoxin? I've gotten into forum wars over this topic. Narcotic/Biotoxin are only better when weight is an issue or in some cases when the dino has an extremely long torpor drain timer, like on a rex. If you KO a giga, it has only a few minutes before it stands up. It also has a MASSIVE torpor pool. Feeding it 100 narcotic induces 4000 torpor. Feeding 500 narcoberries induces the same 4000 torpor. The difference is that narcotic induces the torpor over 12.5 minutes, the narcoberries do it over 25 minutes (5 minutes per 100 berries). When torpor is going up, it can't go down... so, let the giga drop to 1,000 torpor (it will have 20k+ max torpor) and dump a ton of narcoberries into it. The giga will be unconcious for over an hour without having to worry. Sulphur taming a golem? Takes what, like 4-8 hours depending on the server settings. They have a huge torpor pool and slow torpor drain. Let them drop to 100 torpor and fully narcoberry them. You'll get 2+ hours of torpor up before the 1 hour of torpor down again.

Now, weight can be a big issue with some tames, like gigas being tamed far from base or for taming underwater dinos like Mosa's. Carrying 2,000 narcoberries requires 200 weight to deliver 16k torpor... 400 narcotic does it in 40 weight.

Works great on spinos (only need to narcoberry a 150 spino once, plus a little extra and you can forget about it for an hour).

Narcotic and Biotoxin deliver torpor at the same speed. Ascerbic delivers torpor twice as fast as narcotic/biotoxin.

Shhhhhhhhh

My opinion is clearly biased but I think you'd get enough fun playing with one or two players. Some things would definitely take a lot of time to do and some things would be more complex to handle without NPC crewmates to assist you but they can be done. The exploration alone and sailing along has always been one of my main draws to the game and if you had a several node server to play on where you could just sail along and explore I think you'd have plenty of fun.

I pulled some dinos out of cryo myself, my rexes AND a gig, i CAN Confirm they were fed full when cryo'd, when i pulled them out they were at HALF food. not cryo sickness, I waited for the timer cd. It seems to be related to the stasis bug, where a dino in stasis when it came out, the game doesn't correctly calculate the food/hunger and it starts starving. THIS IS A KNOWN BUG. Has been around for a LONG time. It became prevalent when the water stasis/raising was fixed and ORP was implemented. It's still happening to some degree. Also related to the same bug where babies starve if you are not in render when they go juvenile, and the poof age of dinos if you are not in render at the time of tame.

Interesting - this bit is worth investigating. Thanks.

Sweet!

I can't get enough of these!!

The comment below is accurate. It appears, because of these engrams being unlocked via ascension, it doesn't work with our new cheat. The team is aware but there isn't an ETA for the fix.

I concur, that is ridiculously elaborate. It looks sweet though!

Hope.

I feel like it's a hidden gem... It's not the largest map, but it's about Island-Sized and it has a massive Aberration style cave that just keeps getting deeper. As silly as it is, I feel like the icon for the map (which is just a dinosaur) makes people skip over it when looking through a map list. The sky, weather, and multitude of flat plateaus (perfect for anything castle-themed), makes the map shine. I also think the wyvern area is one of the best I've ever seen.

I've been meaning to check this one out!

There's increased effort to work through these tickets. Rest assured!

Known issue - we're working on the fix.

Customer Service has had an influx of tickets due to the deployment last week. I apologize, there's no E.T.A. at the moment but we're hoping to get a general status update out for those who are affected. At the moment they are still working through them. My apologies for the inconveniences!

You are correct. Though im not with the majority's opinion as to why i find those exploits so for a better understanding of why meshers do it, you'll find a different awnser than mine, but here we go. Throughout arks history, specially in the begging, we didn't have a good knowledge of the whole game. Basically on pvp specially, who knows more is king. Knowledge will always put you ontop on any situation, after that the only thing that will improve your game will be skills. Im usually very strict about meshing, i don't abuse it unless theres a reason for it, ONLY in legacy. Let me tell you why. Legacy doesn't have support anymore, meshing and exploiting is a common thing there as I've said before, however if you are not one to also know it you'll likely be abused by other people who do it. My reasoning for FINDING exploits was always knowledge. Almost always i wont be using those bugs, i prefer legit raids. But as to why is knowledge. Knowledge is knowledge regardless. That isnt only true for exploiting. I help some big people in ark to find new metas and i dig deeply into the code with devkit to check every single aspect of something to see if i can use it for my own use. That sums why im motivated to FIND exploits. As to whether i use it i'll tell exactly how many people ive meshed in my whole ark carrer and you can make your own judgment. Before the past 2 months i dont recall ever meshing someone before. I have in fact been guilty of making mesh stashes, but never have raided anyone abusing it as it takes away the fun. Now, i have indeed meshed people in the past 2 months and here is why. I've had some close friends in ark and i called them to play on the same server i play on. They got meshed by an alliance called coalition. Now after that i got pissed and i didnt have any options. Im playing solo with a friend to help me farm. There's no ticket support to get rid of meshers in legacy. They have almost a sum of 200 players throughout their tribes. That left me with no option as my friends quit so i was motivated to give a payback. In that time i went and meshed/insided or attempted to, every single tribe that they had in the alliance. For example i still have a video where i purposefully destroyed only their turret towers instead of their main base to give them a warning, and after that i let the same friends who got meshed to have a little revange. https://youtu.be/EzLZXsV7i6A This alliance back when legacy was official was very well known for duping and i was close enough to a lot of big tribes to know what was going on. At one point i was even guilty of finding 2 new duping methods which leaked out. This alliance even back in the day when legacy was populated used to abuse game mechanics. Ive lost count of the times the servers were shutdown with the lampposts and catapults. Also shoulder pets which now im gonna mention since it got patched. But yeah the shoulder pet one ive found a long time ago by accident when researching the catapult in the lava. Most of the exploits ive discovered or heard of are mostly still intact.

Now after all of this showing my reasoning to find new bugs/exploits/metas and when have i used them, you might see i did not step too much out of boundaries. Never have i attacked an innocent tribe. Also dont take this as a report or ticket, this is only a story and i do not wish for any tribe /alliances/players to have repercussions. I do report on official, never on legacy.

But as I've said before, you might find a different opinion on the subject when you ask other players. There are only 5 people im aware that go find new exploits. The rest watches videos and go for loot or for fun. Hope this gives you an insight as to why i personally do it u/wildcardced

Thanks for your input. I did find another perspective that I haven't really seen come across before. The mesh stashes (as a way to protect valuables) is one I hadn't thought of.
