We'll be performing maintenance on our matchmaking system starting tonight at 5:45pm Pacific (02:45 CEST). We'll be taking down one game mode at a time, which means that you won’t be able to queue for that game mode until maintenance for that mode is complete. We’ll be starting with Harvester Command. Once Harvester Command is properly updated, we'll re-enable it and move onto Heart of the Hives. We expect that maintenance for both Harvester Command and Heart of the Hives should take less than 90 minutes. I'll be posting updates to this thread during the maintenance window.

Context:

We're implementing a change to our matchmaking system that should dramatically improve the chances that you get matchmade to regions where you have acceptable/playable latency at the cost of slightly increased queue times. We attempted to roll this change out on June 6 but we ran into some issues and had to roll back to our previous matchmaking configuration.

Probably not, Preseason is likely going to be extended. They are really focusing down on the map, mode, stability, and UI in Preseason and I'd suspect that the next major drop in content like new skins, a battlepass, and maybe (maybe) a new hero will be Season 1. Personally, I'd welcome any delays that they'd need to make completely sure they have it down before that next main marketing push for that first season.

Nailed it. We're going to stay in Pre-Season at least until we hit all of the major features we listed in our roadmap.

Thanks for the report! Rest assured, this not an actual virus. This is an art file generating a false positive in virus scans. We're working with Microsoft and the Windows Defender team to resolve the issue.

Hello, hunters!

We’re back with another update. Earlier this week we put out a video where we mentioned that we’re shifting our attention towards delivering bigger builds that take a bit more time to prepare. We’re working to deliver the first of those builds tomorrow, but we have one more high-priority fix to make first. If we can’t resolve it before tomorrow, we’ll keep pushing to get the build out as quickly as we can, even if it means shipping it over the weekend.

What’s in the build?

We’re focusing our efforts on the areas where we’re seeing the most unified feedback from our players.   • Adjusted matchmaking such that all players, and especially those at high skill ratings, should see decreased queue times.

Changes:

  • New players will now be presented with an option to skip the tutorial experience. (The tutorial could be skipped previously through menus; this change is just to make it easier for people to opt out.)

  • Fixed a bug that was causing some accurate hits to not register as connecting to the target.
  • Fixed another bug related to players becoming stuck on the Crucible logo while loading into a match.
  • Fixed a bug that caused shots on targets in the practice arena to not register correctly after the first hit.
