We decided to give Orisa and Ramattra an adjustment in order to give them more competitive options to stand up to Roadhog. Originally we planned to adjust Roadhog in this patch, but we could not adjust him due to a technical issue with our hotfix today. We’ll keep an eye on all of these heroes and expect more updates in a future patch.

Welcome to season 2 for Competitive Play in Overwatch 2!
Season 2 of Competitive Play is here!
Competitive Play is designed for those players who want to put their skills to the test, and offers a more serious experience than our Quick Play or Arcade Modes. Players new to Overwatch 2 will unlock access to Competitive Play when they complete the Competitive Play Qualification challenge by winning 50 unranked games.
GETTING STARTED
Before you can kick off your competitive career, every player will be required to win seven games to obtain their seasonal skill division in their choice of role in Role Queue or playing Open Queue. Within the standard Role Queue competitive mode, players will earn a separate skill division for each role in Competitive Play, for a total of three distinct skill divisions. There is a separate skill division for Open Queue as well. This skill division will be a tier—Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, or Grandmaster – followed by a number from 5 (l...

Twitter Spaces Recap
Greetings heroes, last week, our lead hero designer, Alec Dawson joined Matt Morelo from the Overwatch League on Twitter Spaces to talk about our upcoming balance updates, which are now being played in the Overwatch League Playoffs and will be coming in a future patch. In case you missed it, here is the recap of everything that Matt and many of you asked Alec on Twitter.
Matt Morelo: What is the new balance philosophy with Overwatch 2 now being a live seasonal model?
Alec Dawson: So this is our first balance patch since Overwatch 2 has been out, and the way we’re approaching balancing the game is a minor and major cadence of patches. This upcoming patch would be considered one of those minor ones, and those are going to be usually in the mid-cycle patches. They’re going to be reactive, looking at the first two weeks of a meta, seeing what’s performing at the top, and seeing how we can make some adjustments along those lines. Any of these changes are going to be sl...
Read moreHello everyone,
We are temporarily disabling Mei to address a bug with her Ice Wall ability that allowed heroes to reach unintended locations when used with their abilities. We are working to address these issues as quickly as possible and aim to bring Mei back in our next upcoming patch which is set for November 15. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
As a reminder, our Blizzard In-Game Code of Conduct specifies that exploiting in-game bugs to gain an unfair advantage is considered cheating and should be reported using our reporting tool in-game. Thank you for helping us keep a fun and fair experience for all players.
UPDATE: Mei will be re-enabled when we release our patch, which has been delayed. Click here for more details.

Read moreShortly after the launch of Overwatch 2, we discovered a bug that was causing console-specific career profile stats to be reset for players each time they played a game of Overwatch on console. This bug was due to the statistics data initially using any PC pool stats to build on instead of console pool stats, even if a player does not play on the PC platform. We have deployed a fix to this bug, and games completed on console platforms after the fix will correctly store statistics on career profiles. We are now working on restoring stats from Overwatch to all Overwatch 2 console accounts and will do that for all console players. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this bug, any stats from matches played since October 4 through October 18, 2022 will not be recoverable and will not be reflected in your current career profile. Here are a few questions and answers to understand how this will affect players.
Q. What data has been lost?

Double XP Weekends are here! Starting today, your accumulated match XP from each match played will be doubled during eligible weekends. Please note any XP rewarded for completing challenges, bonus XP for participating in flex queue or impacted roles in Role Queue, and any XP rewards from endorsements are not doubled during double XP weekends. You can earn double XP for matches played on these dates:
- October 21 – 11:00 AM PDT to October 24 – 11:00 AM PDT
- October 28 – 11:00 AM PDT to October 31 – 11:00 AM PDT
- November 24 – 11:00 AM PDT to November 28 – 11:00 AM PDT
When you receive double XP for your matches played, you should see the total number of XP after each match be higher than normal. However, during our first two double XP weekends, no direct in-game messaging will indicate XP has been doubled. We will be adding messaging in-game coming in future double XP weekends.

Get your kunai blades ready because you can now play Kiriko in Competitive Play starting today. Also, based on what we’ve seen so far with our challenge system and feedback from players, we have made some adjustments to make the team kills based challenges easier to complete. The “Cleaning House” weekly challenge will reduce the number of team kills required from 20 to 10. The “Finish Them” daily challenge will reduce the number of team kills from 3 to 1. Thank you, everyone, for your continued feedback, and we will continue to iterate on your Overwatch 2 gameplay experience.
