These changes are only being applied to Arcade Mode for the moment, because Aaron Keller claims he can convene with Pachimari, and they told him to make this patch. He only plays the new arcade modes, so he shouldn’t notice otherwise.

General

Dev Comment: Veteran players have an advantage over newer ones when it comes to voice line recognition. In order to level the playing field, we’ve written and recorded new Ultimate voice lines for every hero.

To help players learn these new callouts, we’ve also increased the amount of Ultimate charge retained when swapping heroes.

• All heroes have new Ultimate Voice Lines.
• Keep 50% of Ultimate Charge when swapping heroes.

Greetings, for your specific inquiry, Blizzard Support would not be able to check the status of Competitive record which is probably why you are not reaching a point to submit a service ticket, and are being referred to our existing support articles.

To answer your question, even if you did get hit with a competitive penalty, chances are the starting suspension has likely ended by now, and you should be able to resume playing Competitive Play. When you reach your next Competitive rank update, there will be an indicator in the UI showing if you had any leaver violations in that set of matches.

Hello heroes. In our most recent update, we made a change to how you can use unlockable voice lines during a match.

Unlockable voice lines can be used freely during the pre-game setup phase of the match. Setup is intended to be a playful phase of the game, so we wanted to give you the opportunity to enjoy your favorite unlockable voice lines without restrictions.

During the match, you always hear your own voice lines, but if you spam a significant amount of voice lines, you might sometimes be the only player hearing them. When this happens, a message will appear in the text chat field when the restriction is taking place and includes the time remaining in seconds before other players will hear your unlockable voice lines again.

Other comms like “Need Healing,” “Group Up,” and all Ping Voice Lines aren’t considered unlockable voice lines and will be controlled by the pre-existing spam protection rules.

Overwatch 2, along with all Blizzard games, will be undergoing server maintenance starting on Monday, March 20, at 5:00 AM PDT and will last for approximately 30 minutes. During this time, the game will be unavailable to play on all platforms. Prior to maintenance, we will slowly stop matchmaking queues and prevent new games from being able to start before the maintenance goes live. This maintenance is server-related only, and players should expect to see no change to gameplay once the service resumes. Thank you for your understanding.

Competitive Play is designed for those players who want to put their skills to the test and offers a more serious experience than our Quick Play or Arcade Modes. Players new to Overwatch 2 will unlock access to Competitive Play when they complete the Competitive Play Qualification challenge by winning 50 unranked games.

GETTING STARTED

Before you can kick off your competitive career, every player will be required to win seven games to obtain their seasonal skill division in their choice of role in Role Queue or playing Open Queue. Within the standard Role Queue competitive mode, players will earn a separate skill division for each role in Competitive Play, for a total of three distinct skill divisions. Yes, I do have my main account and keeping up with it. I usually focus on getting at least my dailies done in the evening on weekdays, and then do a heavy gaming grind on weekends, which can consist of Overwatch, World of Warcraft, or other games.

I do participate in playtests though which is a really cool experience.

Far from it, one of Blizzard’s core values is “Express Your Inner Geek” which means we are encouraged to explore what games and pop culture mean to us and how they impact our lives. And while I am a hard-stuck gold/plat, I still have fun.

Hey everyone, I have been around but lurking behind the scenes. There have been a lot of things I have been engaged with and it’s pretty exciting on what we have planned for Season 3. Yes, I have been helping a lot with the blogs, patch notes, and forum posts you see on an official level. To give an insight to my work right now, I am doing my daily check of the forums and Reddit to bring constructive feedback to the devs, and trust me they really appreciate the feedback everyone has been giving.

If there is anything I do want to debunk, is that I have not been silenced by anyone. I am still relatively new to the team, so if anything I am learning from my peers and leaders, Jodie, Andy, Jon, Jared, etc. I also work on a lot of things behind the scenes that you guys don’t get to see but that’s okay because the work I have been doing feels really impactful to the future of the game.

Happy new year, everyone! We are starting the year off with a bang by bringing back Double XP for this weekend! During Double XP Weekend, your accumulated match XP from each match played will be doubled. Please note any XP rewarded for completing challenges, bonus XP for participating in flex queue or impacted roles in Role Queue, and any XP rewards from endorsements are not doubled during double XP weekends. Double XP Weekend is running from:

• January 6 – 11:00 AM PDT to January 9 – 11:00 AM PDT

When you receive double XP for your matches played, you should see the total number of XP after each match be higher than normal. However, the end-of-game Battle Pass screen will not indicate the amount that is multiplied. Double XP Weekends are a great chance to complete your Battle Pass and unlock the Zeus Junker Queen Mythic Skin! We look forward to seeing you in-game!

NEW SEASONAL MODE: BATTLE FOR OLYMPUS FFA

In this free-for-all Deathmatch mode, battle for the throne of Olympus as seven powerful gods and monsters from Greek Mythology, each with a unique Divine Power that kicks in when they use their ultimate ability. The most valiant contenders in the Battle for Olympus will have the chance to earn limited-time voice lines and player titles, to brag about their accomplishments for all eternity.

At the end of the event, the hero whose powers were used to secure the most eliminations across all matches will be crowned the new ruler of Olympus!
