Appreciate everyone sharing feedback, suggestions, and flagging issues. Please please try and file official tickets at the support site if/when you can. We do parse through posts here but the ticketing system allows the team to better quantify the scope and extent of issues and allows for easier creation of a bug in the team's database (when warranted). We have relayed feedback around push-to-talk (great suggestion) and the reports of mouse movement feeling "off." We've also flagged the audio concerns some have raised and the 'getting stuck and unable to back out of a menu/screen" is now a known issue the team is tracking.
Read moreSorry to rain on the parade but this is actually a weird unintentional issue we encountered today as part of work prepping for the upcoming PC flight. There’s nothing to see or do with the build. It will be deactivated soon with a required download for anyone who managed to get the errant update. You truly are free to and encouraged to delete any old MCC insider builds and reclaim the HDD space as we have no current plans for further flights / updates with that content on Xbox.
Working through kinks and intricacies of build release through different stores/ecosystems is one of the reasons why we flight. :)
The Pc MP flight is currently in Ring 2 validation.
Read morehow long are we expecting the flight to last? I’m away this weekend and worried i might not get to participate.
once it does come out, it should last roughly a week like the Xbox MP flight did.
Does anyone remember how long previous rings have taken?
Highly variable. In numerous cases the build goes to Ring 1, issues are found, work is done to fix issues, new build is kicked off, restart ring 1... It really just depends on what, if any, issues arise and if they're deemed serious enough to be a 'ring 3 blocker.'
I asked this on a previous post and on some tweets but I got invited to the last Xbox flight when I only have a PC. I made sure my preferences are changed now but did not being able to participate in a flight I was invited to hurt my chances of getting in the coming PC flight?
no worries, that shouldn't have any bearing on your odds of getting invited to the next PC flight.
I signed up like 2 weeks ago Ske7ch but I haven't been accepted yet
10-4. We don’t have any visibility into their processes - it’s not our program. They just asked us to help get active experienced Halo players to sign up to give feedback on H5. I know they will be expanding the program over time and adding more people.
I don't know why you amp up the reddit for this when you're just gonna give all the spots to streamers.
We aren’t giving spots to anyone, it’s not our program. They asked us to refer Halo players so we are spreading the word. They said they were prioritizing active Halo players. Who knows if they’re steamers, but I bet people who stream Halo all day are amongst the most active players.
This is a lazy response but rather than re-type all this, easier to just point you HERE. (TL;DR create custom MP maps/edit maps/build new ways to play Halo MP)
Ok, I'm going to bite at this one more time...
Nearly 50K Insiders were invited to the last flight if we're being transparent here. Of that, a tiny fraction were what I'd call "popular streamers" or "MVPs."
Do we intentionally invite some of those folks? Of course we do. They are people who grind in the name of Halo day in and day out. They choose to play and stream and support Halo and the community. Our goals for flighting aren't about PR - we're not looking to pay streamers to drive a big marketing hit for an unreleased game - but we do want to make sure some of the people who work to grow and support Halo are with us on this journey.
Someone points out "look at Ubernick… he's been in all three flights." Yes, yes he has. He's also an official HCS Grassroots partner. That means he's worked and grinded and committed himself to creating constant content and, in our opinion, helping to keep the scene and community thriving. If anyone else wants to put in the work to become a Gras...
Read moreCurious if anyone here is participating in the xCloud Public Preview? Alas I don't have an Android device, so besides my brief hands-on with Halo 5 at E3, I haven't gotten much personal time with the service yet.
Spots are limited overall, but our friends at Xbox are very eager to get more experienced Halo players into the program to help test and give feedback on how Halo 5 is shaping up on the service. We've provided them with a big list of "highly engaged" Halo 5 players that they can use to cross-reference against people who sign up - so, hardcore Halo 5 players should have better odds of getting accepted into the program!
For now the xCloud Public Preview is only available to players in the US and UK (and a separate instance for Korea) and you'll need a phone or tablet running Android 6.0 or higher with Bluetooth 4.0 and a Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One wireless controller.
If you'd like to try out playing Halo 5 on your Android device, streaming from the cloud, head over and si...
Read moreI just pinged the team this AM - I think they're trying to get these granted by EOD tomorrow, give or take. Hang in there, they're coming. :)
Yes, there are EU servers (and other parts of the world) - but in most instances the population at any given time is quite low across EU, Australia, etc.. which means players in those regions usually end up matching into NA servers. Originally there were stricter rules in place which led to some backlash and complaints about "region locking" so now players in lower pop areas can get into matches, but it usually means connecting to a datacenter further away. One thing the team has said they'd like to do is add an option for players to just manually select which datacenter they want to connect to - even if it means they'll have to wait longer for a match. Not totally sure when that would come online, but it's on their list and something they want to do to further help address this feedback.
Read moreI'm told there was an "issue" (unfortunately I don't have details) and it was resolved yesterday evening. This was the first I've seen these reports, to our knowledge there aren't any systemic/consistent problems here. But, if you do encounter recurring issues, please do send up a flare so we can alert the right folks.
Unfortunately no, it can't really work that way. All the pieces of the game are intertwined so we can't just ship Campaign and not MP (or vice versa). Development is still moving along - this flight was a big milestone for the team.
That would be cool but unfortunately we don't have access or permissions to send Xbox system messages to players. No game studios really have that ability - only the platform itself. Which, as a gamer, is probably a good thing or you'd quickly get spammed by every single game you've ever played. :)
Always loved this photo - what a great crew we had. And to this date it's still completely shocking how small our team was. (I'm up top in the middle behind Tyson "Ferrex" Green") So many incredibly talented youngsters :)
I'm very excited to try out Invasion tonight. I played 4v4 slayer on Wednesday and it was an absolute blast. I played a lot of Reach back in the day and it feels good to come back.
Everything was buttery smooth and the graphics looked amazing. The only thing I'm having trouble with is the aiming. It feels different...from what I remember.
I feel like I'm overcompensating the aiming and moving around wildly even on default sensitivity. Although to be honest there are a bunch of reasons why this could be the case including the fact that I'm playing on a much bigger TV than I used to and because I haven't played halo in a while :)
Good to hear you're enjoying it! And for sure, you're also playing at 60FPS now and depending your monitor, many also have a bit more latency with HDR enabled... among other possible considerations. :)
Something i've noticed with MCC Reach is the Weapon icons on the HUD, and when you get pick up prompt, don't look the same as 360. In fact, it looks like a sort of hybrid of the beta and final versions.
The weapons also sound more muffled in the MCC and play only one sound, rather than alternate variations, when fired.
Here's a comparison by ODST Brian
Hope these issues can be resolved for the final release.
are you able to also report this via the support site? One, we are using these flights to also test that new site and how it operates, etc.. but two, it gives a more direct line to the team. Appreciate you flagging this, thank you!
I just got out of a few matches of social myself though.
If you were logged in at the time the playlists were swapped, I believe you still have access to the old file until it either caches or you log back in. I imagine this is why you were able to keep playing with other folks who were actively within social when they made the switch.
I got an Invite and I cant wait to play but if I try to download the mcc insider app on my xbox all it says is redeem code and I sont see anything in the email. Help me please :)
what's the gamertag?
