"Very near future" for xbox flight email invitations. Hopefully PC is soon after and then we might actually be close to release.

These initial selection emails were sent out yesterday, FYI. The flight build should be posted to the Xbox Insider Hub later this afternoon (another email will be sent to all participants once the build is ready for play!)

I thought 343 promised a different type of anti-cheat solution than EAC a while ago? Am I wrong or did they say they had some internal anti-cheat a while ago?

There's no internal solution that I'm aware of, the MCC team has been planning for/working with EAC since early on.

We need to make the movement bigger. We must comment it on YouTube and we must post it on reddit. We must stream it on twitch. Master chief for smash! Finish the fight!

IMO keep tweeting at Doug Bowser and Phil Spencer. Maybe even get a petition going. ;)

FWIW, the xCloud team does want to PRIORITIZE access for a chunk of participants who have a history of high Halo 5 engagement / are 'experts' with the title to help give critical feedback on the streaming experience. So, if you got that email as a Halo Insider and you meet the requirements, go sign up! You'll have a much better chance of getting selected than just a 'random' person who signs up. And keep in mind that much like our Halo flighting programs, the xCloud team plans to start small and grow over time.

Posted 1 minute before me  lol. It's like you made the post, wow.

Heh, sorry! Normally I don't, but the team is doing some interesting research around readership and where people come from and one easy way we can do that is using a specific aka.ms link per platform. So, I wanted to jump in and use that link here vs. just having someone post the regular Waypoint URL.

I brought this to the attention of the MCC team here, but I believe this should be moot with the Reach release in MCC given they are incorporating a modified progression system.

I'm working on a short Community Update blog for tomorrow (Unyshek is on vacation) and well, it's pretty sparse given where we are right now (post-Outpost, pre-Reach PC, etc..). I thought maybe it's time to add a Mail Bag feature and try and answer a few questions from the audience? Of course you know I'm not going to be able to divulge Infinite details, but hit me up below if you have reasonable questions (serious or wacky) that I may be able to address for you. :)

Hey ske7ch, I saw you at outpost Chicago. You may remember me as the one who may have looked a bit young to be at a convention, in the front row during one of the stage events. I don’t know. Just thought I’d say hi.

Hi!

JBurton90

Along with the "Publishing Team" at 343.

correct, there is a fairly small dedicated team at 343 that is working on MCC PC (and Reach) with the majority of development work being handled by external partners Splash Damage and Ruffian. The 343 publishing team includes some producers, technical directors, engineers, artists, designers, and testers. In addition, there's an army of QA folks also supporting this project.

There's no overlap between the 343 publishing team (MCC) and the rest of the studio working on Infinite except for a few of us like the community team that ultimately covers everything Halo for the studio. MCC/Reach PC is proving to be a challenging project, but don't worry, there's no negative impact to Infinite - in fact, I'd say that some of the learnings around flighting, establishing Halo Insider, and the unique nuances developing for PC will be helpful in some regards.

It was originally supposed to be DLC. Would've worked better that way imo.

Not quite, but it wasn't supposed to be a 'full priced game' when the concept was greenlit and development began.

I'd happily check that box. It's definitely an option that should be there.

Can confirm it's "on the wish list" but not currently on a schedule. That list has grown very long - particularly as the team is fully tapped out just bringing the core Reach/MCC feature set to PC. Will continue to hold out hope though...

JGuR

but whose dog is that? and will they have a special Easter Egg appearance in game??

That is "Gyoza" the pug, who belongs to Kenny, a technical art director at 343.

Do you guys have any plans to upload other places as well? I don't use Instagram and can't see them on my phone without getting an account. Sounds amazing though

someone else here in this subreddit put up a montage on YT (posted earlier today). I think Unyshek is talking to them about doing a montage of sorts on Twitter every so often... but we'll discuss. The idea originated as a way to help drive more followers and engagement on Instagram (which is still a smaller channel for us) but at some point it's still fun content that warrants the most eyeballs possible.

As others have stated, the unfortunate issue here is really a matter of player population. Earlier on, the settings were stricter and EU players were unable to find matches and had to endure very long waits. Based on player feedback, things were loosened up, which at least allows players to get into games, but the majority of the time it ends up on NA servers since that's where the population is. Finding ways to deal with low population regions has been a longstanding challenge for MCC though I hope the release of Reach will bring in more players and bring new life to the EU data centers. I'm not sure if they'll add in a "I'll wait as long as it takes to only play on a specific server" option, but I'll certainly flag this again for the team to consider. (it's even worse for the diehard MCC players in Australia)

I consider it news, sad no ones posted them on here this is my first time hearing about these

Ha, same, I literally just made a post this AM to make sure people knew we were posting these bi-weekly on Instagram. It's the ONLY shred of Infinite news/related content you'll find right now. (shameless plug : please follow Halo on Instagram :) if this is popular and the communtiy enjoys it, we can continue doing it)

hey folks - Not sure if I've seen it mentioned here (at least not recently) but for those who may not know, we've been sharing some fun content on the Halo Instagram account over the past few months. Our audio team has been providing us with small video snippets from their various field recording sessions as they work on the sound design for Halo Infinite. We typically post these every other Saturday, usually in the morning. The most recent example was recording sounds from a "propane cannon" and the one prior was getting all sorts of grunts and snorts out from a loveable Pug.

In any case, thought some folks might not be aware and would find this interesting - after all, it's literally the only thing even remotely related to Infinite you'll find online right now. Big kudos to our audio team for sharing this with us and our community - it's been fun trying to guess and extrapolate how/where/what these sounds may become in Infinite. As long as the community enjoys it, we'll keep 'em c...

Where is that second fireflight Postums hyped up on twitter?

Thank you Sketch!

I attended Orlando for all the days with the friends I have made over Halo over the years. Even though it was a bit rough to start it was the greatest Halo experience I could have asked for.

Hope to have more things like this and maybe someday I'll be able to come to 343i and see around the studio.

A Spartan never dies, they just grow up to be adults. - A random thought I had when making this

Love the quote! I also loved how this event brought together multiple generations of Halo fans - I heard numerous stories from dad's who grew up on Halo and were thrilled to share in these experiences with their kids. Likewise, multiple stories of life long Halo fans who'd only known each other online who had an opportunity to meet in person thanks to Outpost. <3

Fantastic work! Was a real treat to see all the incredible cosplay at Outpost
