That’s a directory within the home folder that is hidden by default.

The precise steps to show hidden directories vary from one Desktop Environment to the next. Could I ask which one you use? I should be able to give step-by-step instructions then.

I’m very sorry to hear this.

Unfortunately, in cases where the game client crashes or the system shuts down abnormally, it is possible for this to occur during the save process, which can result in characters being lost.

We’re presently investigating an issue caused by the skill Lightning Blast.

One of the defining features of Last Epoch is its skill system.

As part of our work to raise the standard of the game across the board, we have been reworking existing specialization trees in cases where we felt they were not as interesting, as fleshed-out, or offering as many options as some of our newer specialization trees. One of the most recent examples of this is Patch 0.7.7’s redesign of Lightning Blast’s tree.

We have identified five skills with specialization trees we would like to replace. Today we’re posting a poll so you can choose which of these you would like to help us design! The winner of the poll will be opened up to community suggestions like we’ve done in the past, including the likes of Aura of Decay, Shatter Strike, and Summon Scorpion.

Could I just ask where you’ve purchased the game?

I expected as much.

However as the game sends your new records to our servers using an API and then retrieves records using an API to display them in the in-game ladder, the same members of our staff would be working on investigating this and fixing it. I apologize if it seems weird or pedantic, but it honestly does help us to have it here. I do appreciate you checking, though!

You definitely didn’t put it in the ‘wrong’ place, but this would help us a bit internally. Hope you don’t mind. Anything related to the website or API being there is convenient for us.

Next week we’ll be discussing ways of improving the reliability of saves.

What I’d say at the moment is that ensuring that the game client is able to close down normally helps, as otherwise it can cease running while actively writing to save data, which is bad.

At release Last Epoch will support both online-only, server-side characters and offline-only, locally stored characters. The former are coming during Phase 3 of our Early Access Forecast.

We’re aware of the underlying cause of this being shown erroneously to some users, but we haven’t yet had the opportunity to implement a proper solution. We shouldn’t be far off now. We’re able to fix it on a per-account basis currently, so you’re good to go.

Hrm, I’ve been intermittently chatting with people in-game, so it’s definitely not a global problem. I’ll pass it on and see if anyone on the team has any ideas regarding this.
