  • Base health lowered from 200 to 150

Inspire

  • Total healing decreased from 130 to 90 (Healing reduced from 21 to 15 health per second)
  • Self-healing is no longer reduced by half

  • After gaining multiple Repair Pack charges, Brigitte was enabled to play at safer distances while still having a powerful impact on her team. Combined with her personal barrier, she ended up not needing as much survivability in terms of raw health.

Today’s (7/28) patch has been deactivated


We have disabled today’s patch that introduced Genji balance adjustments (Shuriken nerfs) and a bug fix surrounding door animations on Route 66 and Watchpoint: Gibraltar. These changes are still intended to reach the Retail environment soon, but are no longer active at the current time.

After the initial release for Echo, we made some audio-level changes to address concerns that Echo was too quiet in combat. Those changes increased the enemy Echo’s volume and also increased the distance at which the hero could be heard pertaining to her passive hover. Season 23 of Competitive Play is here, introducing Open Queue to the Competitive playlist.

Unlocked at level 25, Competitive Play is designed for those players who want to put their skills to the test, and offers a more serious experience than our Quick Play or Arcade Modes.


GETTING STARTED

Before you can kick off your competitive career, every player will be required to complete five placement matches in a selected role to obtain their seasonal skill rating for that role. Within the standard Role Queue competitive mode, players will earn separate skill ratings (SR) for each role in Competitive Play, for a total of three distinct SRs. This rating will be a number between 1 and 5000, with higher values indicating a greater skill level. Players will also be assigned a tier per role based on their rating—Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, or Grandmaster – and climbing into the next tier is possible as you improve. COMPETITIVE UPDATES

Open Queue Added to Competitive Play

Starting with Season 23, Competitive Play will support both Role Queue and Open Queue. These will be separate queues, so you won’t see Role Queue teams playing against Open Queue teams. Open Queue will have its own SR and leaderboard, separate from the role-specific Role Queue SRs and leaderboards.

Thanks for bringing these points to our attention! We wanted to clarify some of things you’re bringing up, as some are intended, and others are being investigated. In the order provided:

  • It is intended that Mei’s Cryo-Freeze makes her untargetable by friendly abilities. This was implemented on May 19 with the note, “Now behaves like Mei’s Ice Wall when it comes to interactions. Cryo-Freeze will block line of sight and collision in much the same way.” Previously, Mei’s Cryo-Freeze would block damage and break line of sight from enemies, but it is now intended to be more consistent and behave the same way for allies as well (i.e. Cryo-Freeze also blocks friendly abilities, projectiles, bullets, etc)
  • We will take a look to see about the change in number of ticks. There was not an intended change to Mei’s freeze rate
  • We will take a look at Mei not stopping Reinhardt’s Charge / Wrecking Ball. Mei’s Cryo-Freeze is intended to serve as an immovable object (once planted on the ground) and dis...
