Hi Holotable Heroes,

You may have heard Obi-Wan Kenobi called “The Negotiator” but it’s also the name given to his Venator-class Star Destroyer during the Clone Wars. While this ship shares some similarities to Mace Windu’s Endurance, The Negotiator will bring a different playstyle for the Galactic Republic to holotables.

While Mace focuses on a defensive style, The Negotiator is much more aggressive leader for your fleet, using Valor to enable Galactic Republic allies to deal more damage, especially if they're also Jedi. General Kenobi brings along a few friends as well, two Arquitens-class light cruiser flank The Negotiator and provide fire support plus the capital ship’s can call in a formation of Y-wings to assault the enemy team.

We will have more to reveal about The Negotiator in the coming weeks, but I’d bet this ship will synergize very well with Anakin's Starfighter.

So you’ve never heard of this patent but your bosses have asked you about implementing the exact patent regularly? Hard to believe...

This is one of the most deceptive practices you could implement in a business model that already relies on withholding key info from players.

You’re too honest Carrie which is a good thing for consumers at least.

I want nothing to do with anything remotely like this.

I know nothing about patents. The CONCEPT is very common in video games. I’ve been asked if we would offer dynamic purchases, etc., and we said no and that’s the end of it. But I left the door open that there are many people more powerful than me so I can’t say “never ever” (I made this mistake once talking about Real ID to Eurogamer and had to write profuse apologies to the BioWare doctors, so I’d like to avoid if possible).

If we do it, we will communicate it.

Hi Holotable Heroes,

Two new characters are coming to the holotables with launch of the Territory Battle on Geonosis! Similar to the Hoth map, shards for one of the characters will be earnable from Geonosis Territory Battle and the other will be needed to enter the special mission.

We will have more information to share on their kit and gameplay soon.

Wat Tambor:
The leader of the Techno Union, Wat Tambor, is joining the battle! This Separatist Council member will work well with other Separatists and Dark Side Droids by providing special Tech bonuses to his allies. As a non-combat support character (think Hermit Yoda), Wat Tambor can substantially heal and recover his squad’s protection and provides offensive utility.

Shards of Wat Tambor will be exclusively earned from the Geonosian Territory Battle.

Today’s Server update has a minor fix for Grand Arena but nothing else player facing. This change will only impact new Grand Arena events going forward.

Couple things I wanted to hop in here and clarify.

1) Concurrently was my bad word choice. While concurrently means you will have access to both Hoth and Geonosis Territory Battles, you need to choose which one your Guild will participate in. I've been living with the "you must select a TB" thing for so long that I glossed over it in my head. My apologies, not my intention to be confusing.

2) I'm seeing a lot of questions about rewards. Generally they're along the lines of "Can I still receive GET from Geonosis?" CG_Cyanides recently wrote here that players would be able to get GET and GET MK II from Geonosis. So those players that are still pursuing Hermit Yoda, Wampa, and other goodies in the GET store can still make progress towards them WHILE also making progress on Geonosis goodies.

3) I'm also seeing a fair bit of consternation around how only one can be selected at a time. I'll offer that this decision didn't come lightly in the studio and that we considered a lot of different opt... Read more

They will run simultaneously but the guild's officers will choose which one your guild will participate in. You can't do both Geo TB and Hoth TB at the same time.

Dark Side Territory Battle - Geonosis Qualification Requirements

We wanted to talk to you today about Dark Side Territory Battle - Geonosis and how a guild can qualify to play it. Before we dive into the specifics of qualifying, I want to lay out our thought process in order to provide context on why we have qualification requirements in the first place.

First, we decided early on in the development of Geonosis that we would be running Geonosis concurrently with Hoth. We weighed the pros and cons of running them back to back versus running them concurrently and ultimately decided that we didn’t want to ask guilds to engage in such a heavy coordination exercise in addition to the Territory War coordination. If we have Territory Battles every day you will end up overlapping with Territory Wars which could be exhausting (and we’ve talked a lot with our beta testers about how the game can already be demanding for veteran Guilds).
