All right all right, it's a bug, we'll fix. Thanks for the info!
Response to the Biotech release has been amazing! Just here to let you know that we've put out two hotfix updates so far. Change logs are below.
We're watching and gathering issue reports across forums, Discord, and reddit and will continue to fix critical issues as they're discovered. Less-critical things will be left for slower updates later - it's important to stick to essentials for hotfixes, because it's easy to break one thing while fixing another and maintaining stability is our top priority now.
If you're willing to help report or investigate issues, please join the RimWorld Official Development Discord server[discord.gg]. Thanks to all those who took the time to report issues.
Cheers,
-Ty
- Fix: Breach raids not spawning.
- Fix: Children getting adult body types from genes.
- Fix: Kid Romper has no alpha channel. This can cause it to render as a pink square.
There was another post that said it was because of clothing for kids being wonky
Yeah, we released a hotfix for this issue a few hours after Biotech dropped, so either something was missed or OP has the old version.
I've asked the coders to check this.
We'll look at this and push a hotfix soon. Sorry about that.
I bought it at 1750 a few hours ago... Do you think they'll refund it? I barely played with the dlc
They would I think, can't hurt to try.
There's some more info and the resolution reported in this comment.
To add context...
Steam recently changed their recommended non-USD prices. Biotech's prices are based on Steam's recommendations, but I reduced the prices below Steam's recommendations for Euros, Pounds, Canadian dollars, Russian Rubles, Polish Zloty and Hong Kong dollars.
Looks like there was a huge jump in the recommendations for Turkish Lira and Argentine Peso. I don't know much about these currencies or why this happened, but I've just put in a request to reduce them to something a bit more in line with our other products (at least for now). Just depends on when Valve can get to it (they usually start work in like an hour).
EDIT: I managed to get on the phone with Valve and adjusted 12 currencies downwards below their new recommendations, including Turkish Lira, Argentine Peso, Ukranian Hryvnia, Colombian Peso, Indonesian Rupiah, Indian Rupee, Kazakhstani Tenge, Phillipine Peso, Thai Baht, Uruguayan Peso, Vietnamese Dong, and South African Rand.
Ordinarily Steam denies such pr...

Website actually broke on release! Our webdev is working on fixing it right now. Thanks for waiting!
Oof. Turkish price is a bit higher than I expected. Still lower than USD/TRY exchange rate but... I wish it was 180₺. DLC right now is 4.5x higher than the price of game for me.

To celebrate the release, RimWorld and the Royalty expansion are 10% off.
Here's the trailer:
RimWorld update 1.4 is also released! We described the 1.4 changes in detail in this announcement. Or you can read the changelog here[docs.google.com].
Compatibility:
- Unmodded savegames from 1.3 will load in 1.4.
- Many mods have already been updated by wonderful modders during the 1.4 preview over the last few weeks. However, some are not yet updated and won't work on 1.4.
- If you want to keep playing version 1.3, please use Steam beta branch "version-1.3-latest". To do this, r-click RimWorld in the Steam library, go to properties, open the betas tab, and select the version from the dropdown.
This way works well enough!
Love all you guys. Couldn't ask for a better community - really. There are more people to thank than I could list; modders, artists, writers, screenshotters, translators, testers, memers and jokesters, moderators, reviewers, ambassadors and players. You guys are just awesome.
