Hi there,
There isn't any key associated with your version of Siege. Instead the license is activated from Steam on to your Uplay account.
Could you please try verifying your game files in Steam then restarting both Uplay & Steam and running them both as administrator?
Please also make sure you're not using game share and haven't refunded Siege on Steam.

Original Post
I bought rainbow six siege a while back on steam but today I started it and uplay was asking for an activation key, when I originally activated it I assumed I wouldn't need the key again so I didn't store it anywhere and now uplay is asking for it again. So my question, is there a way to recover your activation code through an email or phone verification or something like that.
thanks
I verified the game cache and 3 files were missing (23gb) so I guess that could be the problem XD, and also the key I was talking about was when you buy rb6 on steam it gives you a key to type in uplay to link the accounts.Yup that used to be the case in the past and still is with some older titles. Newer games such as Siege, The Division, AC: Origins etc don't come with a key in Steam, instead the license is added to your Uplay account when you launch the game from Steam. You'll then always have to be linked to the same Uplay account you originally redeemed the game on.
problem solved, thanks for the helpNo problem, thanks for letting us know it's resolved.
Hi SnowBlack92
You need to be logged into the Uplay account that you originally redeemed the game on when playing on PC, that doesn't seem to be the account you are posting from.
Thank you

I had bought siege on PS4 awhile ago, linked my Uplay account to it. I just recently bought it for PC but logged into the wrong uplay account and when i ran Siege on my PC i was lvl 1 and stuff. So i logged out of that account and ran it on my other uplay account but it says there is a problem authenticating ownership on this account now whenever i run siege on PC. Someone help me plz.
Hello! There is no activation key for playing on the TTS. The TTS is automatically added to your account if you have access to R6S once the TTS is live.
Hi CaganMuhammed,
We can certainly pass your feedback around that on to the team.

i bought rainbow on my xbox and now on pc it is asking me for a activation code

Hello . I make 2 step activication to play ranked games but the game says that i dont. I have done this thing 5 times and each time the game says the same thing . Please help . Sorry for my english![]()
Hi everyone!
Sorry to hear you having issues with activating and launching your game.
Firstly, it's always good to empty the cache of Uplay PC if you are having any issues.
For those purchased on Epic, please make sure you have your country/region on both the Epic and Ubisoft accounts as the same. If this is not the case, please reach out to us.
As for Geforce Now, we are currently investigating the issue of being asked for a key when attempting to launch your game via Geforce Now. This is usually down to a regional incompatibility with the version on your account, to what is available via the Geforce service.
I am sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Hi Ullityxd!
Sorry to hear you being asked for a key. Have you tried empty the cache of Uplay PC?
If you still have issues, can you confirm where you purchased the game?
Thanks!

Is there anyway that I could change the license? When I first launched the game I accidently put in an E-mail that was not mine. (I thought it was) and now when I go to launch the game it gives me multiple errors.

3. Twitter Please note that you will be asked to provide proof of purchase, therefore depending on the platform you've activated it on, make sure you refer to the following steps: 1. Uplay PC
2. Steam
3. Epic

Hey polat159,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to forums!
To correct this situation, I recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
Navigate to the Ubisoft Game Launcher cache folder, by default located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\cache
Please note that the Uplay client must be fully shut down at this point and not running in the background.
Open the cache folder and move the "ownership" folder to a safe location.
Once you have backed up that folder, delete the "cache" folder.
After deleting the cache folder, please verify the game files within Epic:
- Open Epic
- Navigate to the game in your Library and click the cog icon.
- Click the Verify button once the drop down menu appears.
- After verification, the launch option appears again. If verification is not available within Epic, please install the game files in Uplay. If you need to verify the files after installation, you can do this via the following:- - In Uplay, click on Games tab at the top of the window
- On the next screen, hover over the game tile. This will make a little arrow appear at the bottom right of the tile
- Click on this arrow to make a drop-down menu appear, then click on Verify files When this has been completed, try launching the game again. In terms of 'Epic Games Service is Unavailable' message, I would recommend to try launching your game via Uplay PC launcher instead, and see whether that helps. Keep us updated and should you have any questions, let us know!
