Wait, why is it an abomination? It’s made with lamb[7daystodie.wiki.gg] in the game, which is sheep. In fact it probably exists only because the lamb ration was already in the game, back when Madmole needed to come up with something[community.7daystodie.com] survivors could cook from the canned foods they had. The beef ration is used for other recipes. So even if you’re an ingredient purist, I’d say they got that part right.
If the spelling is unequivocally wrong, then I’d report it as a localization bug, They’d probably fix it, unless they think of it as a canonical colloquialism like “Forgettin’ Elixir.” Read more

There are currently barely any survival aspects to the game at all and the game takes almost no effort to play.
Correct. But back then you didn't even have to worry about the most basic things like food and water. Loot was overabundant. Mechanics were simplistic. And you could basically achieve end-game before the second bloodmoon and rule the world. The only challenges that truly existed were running into bugs like having to dig your motorbike out of the side of the hill it teleported into while you were driving next to it.
Which is what most of the complainers want. Easy gameplay without restrictions or limits. They want to play the game in a way that it was never intended to be developed for, and instead enjoy incomplete versions with temporary mechanics that were never in... Read more

Some of us have been playing the game for over a decade now.

This sounds like a feature in a mod. Definitely not a Vanilla game system with that tent.

The mutated zombie is the wasteland zombie.

Don't know.

I get that you're not making a 'waaah, I want it now' argument, OP. Still, while it's not up to me I can't say I buy into the idea. For one thing their all-at-once release schedule works well for them, generating anticipation in the community that wouldn't be the same with, say, releasing one new doodad every week. I think they pride themselves on each major release feeling like a new game, and how this makes it worth coming back to in a way incremental progress wouldn't.
But setting aside the business strategy and logistics, I'd let the baker make the cake. Even if trying the Experimental build is analogous to tasting the cake batter, we don't need to taste it once after the flour is added, and then again after the sugar is added, and then again after the eggs are added. Let the baker add the ingredients needed to make it qualify as cake batter, and then we can see if they added too much or too little of this or that. Anything sooner than that risks reacting to the as-yet-missing... Read more
I don’t know if it’ll ever happen, but Madmole has talked about doing that going back a long time. As usual, having the idea is the easy part.

Storms have some randomness to their duration, but are basically 2-4 game hours with the harder biomes being on the upper end, but none of that is final.

We have no plans for seasons. Biomes will remain distinct.

Frostclaw is primarily a snow biome spawned zombie. Allan may have him in other spawn groups, but I don't know.

Enclosure size matters. I did a test a few weeks ago with 1 small wall and a fairly large roof. It stopped damage once the roof was big enough and I stood next to the wall.

It is basically the same, but is sequenced differently, so has new/changed code.

You would need to enter the biome and it would fade in.

There is code to check areas of blocks to determine if any location is an interior. It is not perfect, but it works well enough and is tolerant of holes in walls or even entire walls missing as you mainly need to have an area above you being solid.

No protection in vehicles. That could change, but the only enclosed vehicle is the 4x4 anyway. Being underground is being inside. Rain and snow particles inside has to do with particle collision issues and nothing to do with the player detecting if inside.

There is no clothing. Wetness does not matter. There are specific drinks for each biome's hazards. The only protection from storms is to go indoors. We have talked about a future item that gives more time before the storm damage starts.

If you use CPM, you would set an openhours claim or something similar.
There are other server tools that have similar features. Should check them out.

If you have a survival kit that covers the snow biome, then going out in the snow biome during regular weather you would see no screen effects. They are shown to tell you something bad is happening.

haha
Yep. I used to use Empyrion as a perfect example of what not to do, because they were one of the first developers to do this. Now everyone apparently is doing it.

Storms will damage you, survival kits do not count as protection and being indoors will be safe.

The normal HUD is still there.

Now I know 7 days is out of EA, but it creates a precedent for EA titles to be able to just post empty updates news so they don't get flagged as such.
I've never seen an empty update news in the past, but that might just be me.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, have you guys seen this before?
I also want to make it clear to mods that this is not a post whining about delays, it's a genuine precedent-creating concern.
Fun fact.
The developers "left EA" with the 1.0 release, but still have not finished the game. (Something that has become pretty common with EA titles lately.)
I am curious what the criteria is that you think has been violated. Since TFP just pushed an update yesterday, and the last update before that was February 12th. So literally one day short of two months. The update before t... Read more

IMO, 2.0 + Bandits + Storyline finishing... and the game IS complete... at which point it would just need final bug fixes and optimizations.

2.0 will bring us closer. 3.0 will add bandits and 4.0 will add story and workshop support. Then they will call it finished. They'll put a skeleton crew on it for 2-3 more years to continue bug fixing and add small updates with occasional new content but TFP will shift its focus and most of its employees to its next game.
Their next game, btw, won't be crowd funded via Kickstarter but probably will use the Early Access program. It will be interesting to see how many people buy into that already knowing how long this game spent in that program. I think, despite the hate often posted here about this game's early access experience, that most peopl... Read more
