Hey, i have been perm muted for some years now on my max account osrs "Opti3s" i have been trying everything to appeal but i cant, i have been on discord all this time with raids and such but i really miss the small chats with people, i know mistakes have been made but mistakes are also to learn from and i really feel i have learned from, if its possible if you could look into it i would really really appreciate it. I made a second account "Donnie rokko" but i dont have nearly enough time as i did years ago since i have work and family now. I hope you will see this message and apoligies to everyone i did wrong

Hi, the mute is permanent, we sent a warning of 2 March 2018 that the account would be muted if rule breaking continued, and as we've had 493 abuse reports submitted to us that mute was applied 12 September 2019

I appreciate the response so much but I promise there is no option to appeal anywhere after I click "appeal a mute" on that page. The link prompts me to log in, which then leads to the account history page which looks like this. I can click on "show expired/quashed offences" and further view evidence but no option to appeal anywhere along the way. Sorry to be a bother.

Right that is odd, you are a member which is the only reason appeal option may not be available. I'll pass this to our internal QA. To resolve this I've gone ahead and removed the mutes, I checked in with our appeal team who confirmed they would be granted if appealed. It might take a few minutes until the mute is lifted.

You have 3 stacked mutes and you haven't appealed any of them - I've had a quick look and given the age and nature of them I'd say there is a good chance appeals would be granted.

Wait time for offence appeals is about 5 hours right now. Make sure to appeal each one, they are dealt with as individual cases.

Name is BigSashaMan. Feel free to roast if ban was correct. Btw how do you know if it is? Can the client search my computer for scripts and programs? Or is it just clicking intervals?

That isnt the name given to me, will check it out thanks. Edit: updated my first response.

On the DM department, if you have the time could I respectfully ask you to check in on the conversation we had a few months back?

done

Update:I received a DM with an account name, the ban was correct and will remain. However that account was not the account of the OP. I have now had the correct name from OP directly. The OP account is also banned correctly, and so the appeal was handled correctly (denied).

Hey no excuses we messed up a bit here, the refund was processed but was treated like you had already used the membership time, when clearly you haven't. I can see you have been back in touch but I've closed that ticket and you won't get a response as I've fixed it for you.

I've removed the negative credit charge so you are free to log in, and if you still want to go ahead and purchase PC you can.

I've also put 3 days of membership on your account free of charge, so you can continue members for a few days without worrying that you need to go add PC immediately.

Apologies again, this was a genuine human error issue, and it would have been sorted when we got to your follow up ticket.

The mute was applied by a P Mod and was in place for 1 hour, there was no offence added to the account. The mute wasn't actually for the conversation you have shared, however in the interest of complete transparency I can say the actual evidence supplied for the mute was also incorrect.

My guess is you were doing something not chat related that caused some frustration or annoyance, and the P Mod saw 'red mist' and applied a mute. Just a guess of course, but does fit with what I can see.

In fairness the P Mod involved has a reporting accuracy of 98.3%, so that is a strong indicator that this was a one off reaction error.

I have reached out to the P Mod to seek their side of this, and depending how that goes I'll decide if any further steps are needed.

After being in this community for a few years, it's pretty obvious that almost all support tickets/recovery requests/etc. are auto denied until someone makes a stink on social media. Seeing a Jagex employee trying to dispute what we see happen time and time again is a frustrating attempt at gaslighting.

I think that is confirmation bias. We receive about 500,000 contacts a year. It might feel automated in some situations because we do use template replies (can you imagine how inefficient it would be for J Mods to manually type a response to every account recovery request they deal with) - but in the vast majority of cases a human has dealt with the enquiry and then choses an automated response to send.

In terms of Player Support processes that are fully automated there are very few - denying recovery requests where the info is so poor that it would never be granted anyway, is one of them, and is often caused by people recovering the wrong account. A quick reply allows the player to check they have the details right, or if that have 100% got it right, strengthen up the info they have provided.

Please help me recover my account RSN - Deep Squat , I’ve sent numerous requests the account was hacked and is literally being sold on player auctions I reached out on Twitter and email with multiple screenshots and proof to no avail. Please look in to it. Please help!! I don’t care that my bank was most likely wiped I just want all my hard work back! Even when I made a Reddit post about it was taken down. Please help!

The account is secured, we are waiting for a recovery request from the person who created it.

Well I just send another request in and it got accepted and I never got some immediate auto reply from a bot either so it looks like things have improved. Kudos and thanks.

Cool - thanks for letting us know.

Well I'm unable to recover the email, it was lost over a decade ago and I have tried to recover it multiple times, the recovery emails had even been changed on that email account when it was first hacked in the early 2000's.

So I clicked this link at the bottom on that page - https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/205980401-Forgotten-registered-email

Its tells me to login to see my email, which I already know what it is, or it tells me to click this link to change it, which I do - https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/207555905

Head over to Change email and log in

Hit 'Change Email' to send a confirmation email to your current registered email address

Click the link in that email and follow the instructions

well I don't have access to the email, hence why I have a problem.

So it tells me to recover the account, which as I said always gets me a bot response no matter what information I give saying I was unable to recover the account.

No offence but I have gone through the support links before, its feels a little condescending to be given a link that ultimately just tells me to "recover the account".

yep but that is how to set a new email to the account, just like the OP of this thread did. If the request is being denied, it means the info isn't strong enough - but regardless you should get some suggestions back on the info you need to improve.
