This is quite strange ? People supporting the game since ages will be able to play later than newcomers ? Never seen that

We previously sold a $10 discounted prepurchase of the finished game, with beta access included in the $35 pack.

As we have since pushed back the release of 1.0, we chose to give the people who bought the $10 pack beta access starting at our original estimate of when the game would officially launch, as that was the date they were told when buying it.

Like I said I just bought yesterday. And I’m reading about a beta for kickstarters and people who pre order before 2020.

Does this apply too someone who just bought the game on steam?

So would I get the beta in April?

You can play the game right away.

I'm sorry but this is mostly incorrect.

First, there is no Open Beta currently planned. Secondly, it's only people who paid less than $35 who have to wait until April to play.

Hey there!

Currently, we're in Phase 2 of the Early Access Forecast.

Anyone who buys the game now gets to play both during Early Access and afterwards. Thanks for supporting us!

Do you have to complete the story with every character you make?

Just to clarify, /u/NeonTheKnight isn't entirely correct.

Endgame content can be accessed starting approximately halfway through the campaign content currently available.

Sorry, can I ask for some clarification? Is cloud save enabled on the stand alone client and will it be a feature on Steam when the game launches? I got the game on Steam two days ago (loving it by the way), but I was beyond disappointed when I logged to my desktop to see.. nothing.. thanks for your time!

Hey there!

Thanks for supporting us, and I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing experience.

To clarify, currently neither client offers this functionality.

Our long-term goal is to continue to have multiple game clients available for people to choose between, and for those clients to enjoy feature parity wherever possible. In context of Cloud Save, that will probably mean us creating our own proprietary solution at some point, and ensuring that it works for all clients across all supported Operating Systems.

With that in mind, we have a choice to make in the short-term. Adopting support for the Steam Cloud using Valve's API would be less work, and so it would be quicker and easier to do. However it would also mean that the standalone client doesn't have this feature, and so anyone wanting to avail of it who uses that client would need to link their accounts and download the game again. Additionally, it would also mean more work overall - we'd need to one day migrate save data ...

Hey there!

I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying Last Epoch. :D

The Rogue class isn't available just yet. We have posted an Early Access Forecast to help loosely convey the order in which various parts of the game not yet implemented will be added. We're currently in Phase 2, and the Rogue is slotted into Phase 3.

Hiya,

This is something we're presently looking into.

It would require certain changes to save data for us to be able to utilize the Steam Cloud API for this, and it would also mean either adopting an alternative for those using the standalone client - which is a large portion of our playerbase - or else not offering cloud save functionality for those users at all. We don't have anything to announce regarding this just yet.

Thank you for the fast reply! Can I assume that once phase 3 is up we are going to have chars from different devices “migrated” and merged online?

Regards

It will never be possible to bring previously offline characters online.

One of the major benefits of server-side online-only characters is the ramifications for cheating.

Hey there,

Currently characters are stored locally, with server-side online-only characters pencilled in under Phase 3 of our Early Access Forecast.
