Hi folks, this week's Eco update will be presented by Eco artist and dev Keegan O'Rourke. We're going to get a close look at all the changes to mining and drilling, which is a way to let you prospect and find new places to mine.

Well, i can understand this can be partly frustrating, as we both agree that this is not how it should work from a game-design point, but it's technically not broken and the amount of work required to change the whole system for such little benefit is just a bad trade-off at the current time of lots of stuff that is more important.
There's only two major things I'd like in Eco outside the update....

It's just a current technical limitation, but inside coding it works as intended, hence it's not a bug.

That's actually working as intended. We're sure looking into it at some time, but it actually works as it is supposed to work, as maps aren't 3d. It's nothing to expect anytime soon, though, just to be honest.

[Server rent] How much RAM is really needed?

RAM depends on map size, up to 200x200 works fine with 4 GB, assuming you use a Windows Server.

Just rented a Server @4Players but can't access the Game's Webserver (page stays blank) - Any ideas?

You can migrate your worlds without problems but will be missing some new content and all laws will be deleted.

That means your database was corrupted, you can either delete the .db file (then all statistics start new from now on) or restore the latest one from the backups.
Just wondering if i should start playing right now

You actually do not have to. You are missing new world generation and all laws will be deleted, but the world will migrate.

Not to my knowledge, unfortunately. Steam seems to solely determine on if to show that note (which it also only seems to show to players currently on a Mac to begin with) by on if there is any Mac builds uploaded, not even taking into account that there is two different generations of Mac's that are based on completely different processor architectures for which builds are not generally cross-compatible, as all our builds are not ARM based.
The only way to get rid of that seems to be removing all builds we uploaded for Mac so far and altering all internal pipelines for creating builds, which would be a resource-intensive undertaking, especially when wanting to keep the builds for our own website. Mac has never been noted in the system requirements or our own compatibility documents, though. Read more
