There aren't plans for a Google login on desktop, but you are able to attach a "normal" login email to an account created with Google. That coupled with the ability to remember login info on desktop should allow for the convenience you want!

You might be right, that's why I mentioned at the foot of my message that we aren't targeting new players with the ad in this thread.

I really want to live in that version of the Wizard's Tower.

Hey all, a while back I shared some insight on how the digital marketing team work. You can find it here https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/9w5hw2/discussion_i_love_seeing_osrs_ads_as_much_as_the/e9ht3ec?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x.

I'll copy and paste it, but then also talk specifically about this ad. Copy/paste is italicised.

Hey guys, whilst I'm not in the Digital Marketing team, I do have the pleasure of working quite closely with them. This is just an example of 'always on' digital marketing. It's the stuff you'll see featured on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc.

It's very cheap and it's very easy to replace/switch up. This allows the digital marketing team to take the approach of testing different pieces to see what resonates with new and lapsed users.

Whilst it might not fill high-level existing players with awe and motivation, it's proven in working very well to bring new/lapsed users into the fold.

I'll give a few examples:

Digital Marketing (ads etc):...

Hi all!

We'll be live tomorrow at 5pm UTC over at twitch.tv/OldSchoolRS.

Reply to this thread with any questions you might have, or submit a question to us directly via the form here: osrs.game/Questions.

Thanks - see you all tomorrow for the livestream!

My personal account is in the same boat. Made using a Uni email address (I left Uni years ago). Just change your linked/registered (they're the same thing) to an active email (like Gmail), and you'll be fine. Your login email won't ever change.

Your items shouldn't disappear, regardless of membership, I'm certain something else has happened. Have you submitted a bug report? You can do that via right-clicking/long-pressing the Report button.

Thank you Sween. It usually isn't a big problem because no one sabotages 24/7 besides this person and another one (who currently has stopped). So changing it isn't necessary, just take proper action against those who do it on the extreme level. Also, maybe Lanthus (the NPC in middle of Castle Wars lobby) could be typing something like "Sabotaging games is against the rules, please avoid doing so" every 7 minutes?

It's possible that action alone is a good enough deterrent - but if it persists then I'm keen to explore some content solutions.

I'm not so sure with Lanthus' messaging - I'd be very surprised if the person responsible didn't know that what they are doing is wrong, and that an in-game message would change their outlook.

Make Castle Wars a member game again. If he has to pay $5 every time he wants to come back I doubt it'll last long.

W334 is a Members' world. It'd need another type of content change.

We'll make sure we check again in the morning. We should be better at handling this type of griefing.

Punishment aside, I'm curious - do you think there are any content changes we can make to stop this type of thing within Castle Wars, but without negatively affecting the gameplay?

EDIT: I've had a few replies mention limiting barricades. It sounds good in theory, but I'd need to learn about the competitive Castle Wars community and how it'd impact their games before we hurry into something like that.

We discussed a player's idea to implement some sort of in-game scouting system. Perhaps that's it?

Hey, if you didn't incur the ban (and it was the hijacker), you can appeal it here -https://support.runescape.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115002238729-Account-Bans. See the 'Appeal A Ban' button to go to the form.

Hey guys. We appreciate that the fix has been a while coming, but it is something we've been working on. It's not quite as simple as a game content change.

Mod Acorn recently replied to a thread by the same OP, but for more context (since there are more replies and votes here), here's the status of the fix:

It hasn't been forgotten about. Any update to mobile needs to be tested by us, and then it also needs to be tested by the App Store. It is actively being worked on, and we hope to be able to update you soon.

Hi all! It's been about five hours since this was posted and we've collated A LOT of feedback. Like we said in the blog, we fully intend to engage and address this. We'll revise the blog and get back to you once we've had an opportunity to meet as a team!

These fees aren't very high, considering the loot one can get from the features. We'd like to raise all of these fees. However, we know that this could be expensive for future newbies who have to learn the content through trial and error. So we propose dropping the fees initially to a much lower level, but then raising them according to how many times a player dies in that place (up to a maximum of 20)

That makes no sense. If you want to raise it after they learn the content it should be after an amount of successful kills, not after a number of deaths. A player learning Zulrah is going to die way more than 20 times - after which that content will essentially be locked for them if they haven't gotten it down by then.

I do like this approach, I'll offer this feedback

Hi all.

I'll update this comment as we make any changes.

13/02 We've just deleted a rogue '5' from the values in the table which talks about permanent item retrieval prices.

14/02

We're keeping an eye on your feedback on this topic, and we expect to continue adjusting the proposed designs after the weekend before the survey opens.

The fees for permanent item-reclaiming chests, including Torfinn, the Theatre of Blood, the Volcanic Mine and all other such situations, will be left unchanged - except for Zulrah, which will be given a fee only for non-UIM players with a kill-count over 50. UIM and players who'd not killed it 50 times would still get their items back there for free.

Iron players expressed concern over how they'd get the cash to pay fees. We'd like to propose, as part of Death's Office, a means of sacrificing unwanted items to pay for these fees - which would be open to non-Iron accounts too, and would act as an item sink for the game. It's called Death's Coffer.

We ...

I think you over did it, because now the entire newspost under the image is a clickable link to the image

I've not made any changes myself (not in office), but I'm told that we aren't seeing the same issue you are!

I'm not hating on the name, but why not bring back the Postbag from the Hedge? Doesn't have to be styled the same way, just for the old times sake.

Postbag was amazing, I've got very fond memories trying to decrypt the Chaos ele messages. We did consider reusing that name, but really this blog and those blogs are doing very different things. It's not to say that the Postbag won't come back ever, but this is a more formal newsletter-y type approach rather than a fun piece of messaging.
