As the week wraps up, we've pulled together a list of changes we're targeting for deployment in a patch mid next week. We've been busy making improvements to Path of Exile 2—here’s what’s on the way.
One of the most requested features we have had is the ability to respec Ascendancy classes. However, something that was important to us is to make sure that while it can be done, it does require some level of effort.
We have implemented it in the following way:
  • Redoing an Ascendancy Trial allows you to respec which Ascendancy Class you have chosen at the Ascension device, but only if the Trial would grant you the number of points you already have.
  • In order to respec your Ascendancy class, you must have zero points allocated in it, but you can now open the Respec window at Balbala or the Trialmaster who are standing next to the Ascension device.
  • Ultimatums that have 7 chambers and thus grant up to 4 Ascendancy points now can be done from level 55 down from 60.
  • Ultimatums that have 10 chambers an...

Delirium Ends Soon The Delirium League on PC ends on Monday June 15th at 3pm PDT, so you have only this weekend left to complete your unfinished challenges!
When the league ends, its exclusive Brimmed Hat will leave the store forever. Check it out, If you've been enjoying Delirium!
If you haven't played Delirium, don't worry about missing out on the content of the league! The Strange Voice and its realm of horrors will become a part of Path of Exile's core in the upcoming Harvest expansion. You will start encountering the Delirium content from the Torched Courts in Act Five. Once you reach endgame maps, you will be able to increase the chance of Delirium encounters by adding other league mechanics to your maps. As for Cluster Jewels, you'll now have a greater chance of finding them through Delirium encounters, tied to the number of rewards you earn during that encounter.

In Path of Exile: Harvest, we've created a new category of skills called 'Slams'. We've introduced one new support and one new slam skill while several existing skills have been recategorised as Slams. Today's news post reveals which skills are now considered slams, how they've been improved and information about the new Slam called Earthshatter!
In general, we're looking to provide more support for two-handed playstyles and builds that hit slower but hit harder. These changes come alongside improvements to two-handed base types, more passive skill tree support, improvements to Warcries and more.
The Fist of War Support Alongside our announcement of Harvest, we revealed the new Fist of War Support that works with all slams except Vaal Slams and Ancestral Warchief. Every few seconds an ancestor appears above your character and performs your slam in unison with you, creating a supercharged slam dealing much more damage with an increased Area of Effect.
The following slam skills can be used... Read more
In Path of Exile: Harvest, you'll cultivate your Sacred Grove, grow dangerous monsters and slay them to use their Lifeforce as a valuable crafting resource. The potential of Harvest crafts is immense and should open up powerful options for leveling and end-game players alike. Today's news post reveals a preview of some of the possible new crafting options.
There are over 200 new crafts introduced in Harvest - these are just a few of the more exotic ones! Note that the Lifeforce values here are placeholder and arbitrary.

You can find out more about crafting in our FAQ here[www.pathofexile.com]. Read more
In Path of Exile: Harvest, we're rebalancing over 50 unique items. Some have received numerical buffs, while others have received new mods and mechanics. We're really excited about the possibilities that many of these unlock. While we plan to reveal more of these over time, we're prepared a preview of 10 rebalanced uniques to whet your appetite.
Rigwald's Savagery & Rigwald's Command
Rigwald’s Savagery no longer grants increased attack speed with swords or chance to bleed, but now has a new mod that increases your maximum Rage by 25 while wielding a Sword. Rigwald’s Command no longer grants increased physical damage with axes or chance to gain a Frenzy Charge on kill, but now grants a multiplier to your bleeding damage equal to the amount of Rage you have while wielding an axe.
Originally these weapons were only available as a rare drop from the Rigwald encounter and they've lost their edge as time has passed. We’ve sharpened their rage-fuelled identities with new mods that synergise wi... Read more
In Path of Exile: Harvest, we're adding four new Warcry skills, one new support and are reworking three existing ones. We've generally improved the options available for those who want to utilise Warcries in their builds. Today's news post reveals new skills and what to expect in terms of changes.
Changes to Warcry Skills Some time ago we decided that it would be good to do a balance pass that focused on two-handed weapons and the "slower but stronger" playstyle. While we were exploring how best to achieve this, it became clear that giving Warcry skills some long overdue improvements could be of great help.
Our first step in doing this was to define for ourselves what a Warcry should be and what function it fulfils. We found that Warcries should:
  • Release a shockwave that taunts enemies.
  • Apply either a buff or debuff where its power is based on nearby enemies.
  • Exert (or "power up") your next few attacks with special properties.

These rules can be flexible but provide a base starting point... Read more
Earlier this week, we announced Path of Exile: Harvest which is set to launch on June 19. In this league, you'll assist Oshabi as she explores the mysterious powers of the Sacred Grove. In short, you'll plant seeds, encourage their growth, harvest the monsters within and use their Lifeforce as a powerful crafting resource.
In Harvest, you'll be able to find a seed cache in each area. When you're within a certain range of it, roots will appear beneath your feet and point you toward it to help you easily locate it. Open the cache, collect the seeds and enter Oshabi's portal to plant them in the garden alongside collectors.
Each seed has a different property which dictates which monster will spawn from it and which specific crafting resources that monster can create. Once a crop of plants is fully grown, you can harvest it and monsters will emerge. If you are able to slay these monsters, their Lifeforce can be used for crafting and to help grow higher tiers of seed.
The Sacred Grove gives yo... Read more
In Path of Exile: Harvest, we're introducing several new Brand skills and one Brand support gem. We've also reworked existing Brands and reviewed how their mechanics work. Today's news covers what changes to expect and provides a preview of the new Brand gems.
Changes to Brands Brands were first introduced many leagues ago with Storm Brand and Armageddon Brand. Brands are all cast on a location and attach to nearby enemies, repeatedly activating to perform their unique effect. They detach if the enemy dies, ready to jump to another target.
We've finally added some new Brand skills: Arcanist Brand, Penance Brand and Wintertide Brand. These come alongside new options for how you can build and play Brands, like the new Swiftbrand Support. These additions introduce a more aggressive, active play style.
Arcanist Brand Arcanist Brand is a new Brand skill that also supports any triggerable spell linked with it. Each time the Brand activates, it triggers a supported spell, allowing you to build... Read more

Alongside the development of our next expansion, the team has recently been working on a small patch with a number of fixes to the ongoing Delirium League. We're planning to deploy the 3.10.2b update by the end of this working day or early next week. In the meantime, check out its patch notes below:
  • You can now filter for items without being required to use special alphanumeric characters, such as "Maelstrom Staff" rather than "Maelström Staff".
  • Updated the description text for the Surveyor's Study and Office of Cartography Incursion Temple rooms to accurately reflect that they do not cause Architects to drop Map-related Currency.
  • Fixed a rare bug where Sirus' rotating beam skill could be invisible.
  • Fixed a rare bug where Visceris in the Overgrown Ruin map could become immune to damage.
  • Fixed a bug where the Arcane Barrage microtransaction created effects that would linger indefinitely, and would reduce performance when long periods of time were spent in the same location.
  • Fixed an ins...

We have just deployed the 3.10.2 Patch, which includes a Beta version of our Vulkan renderer. This alternate renderer provides much more consistent performance than the DirectX 11 one, especially when under high CPU load.
Over the last few years, we have increased the amount of multithreading that the Path of Exile engine uses, which lets us take more advantage of modern CPUs with many threads (logical cores). Because of the dynamic shader system we use, shader uploads occur frequently throughout gameplay and currently may stall the entire game when they occur. In our DirectX11 backend, shader uploads happen on the background threads, but the graphics driver (the AMD/Nvidia/Intel layer) processes them before the GPU can use them. It does so in its own threads that can be starved when the CPU usage is high. In that case, driver processing appears to happen in the main thread, causing stalls. Somewhat ironically, the additional multithreading we have been adding over the years actually ma... Read more
We're currently in the 11th week of Delirium league and thought that now would be a great time to take a look at some statistics.
We'll start by examining unique item usage. First, let's look at all character levels.
Top 10 Uniques (All levels)
  • Tabula Rasa
  • Survival Instincts
  • Perandus Blazon
  • Atziri's Promise
  • Watcher's Eye
  • Lion's Roar
  • Rumi's Concoction
  • Fevered Mind
  • Voices
  • Goldrim
As you can see, Tabula Rasa is the most-used unique when we look at all character levels. If we compare back to Legion league (which was the last time we publicly showed similar stats[www.pathofexile.com]), we can see that this was the case then as well. Many of the uniques in this list are leveling uniques, though we do see some endgame uniques in here, primarily Watcher's Eye and Voices. Notably, Watcher's Eye didn't make it into the top ten in Legion league.
Now let's take a look at unique usage for characters under level 70.
Top 10 Uniques - Level <70
  • Tabula Rasa
  • Survival Instincts
  • Wanderlust
  • Goldrim
  • Blackheart
  • K...

The press tour has begun which means that for the next week we'll be showing our upcoming expansion content to scores of journalists. This also means that our announcement is just around the corner - in fact, you'll be able to check out the announcement details in all their glory at 2pm June 2 (PDT).
While we are on track to announce the expansion as scheduled, it's still too early to provide a firm confirmation of the expansion's launch date. As we mentioned last week, there is a possibility that it may be further delayed. The launch date will be confirmed alongside the announcement.
In terms of the size of the expansion, it's in-line with most of our others like Delve, Incursion, Blight, etc., but smaller than our recent December expansions like Conquerors of the Atlas and Betrayal. You can expect all the hallmarks of a Path of Exile expansion like a new challenge league, improvements to existing content, new unique items, skill gems, support gems, rebalanced gameplay and more!

Launched in December 2019, Conquerors of the Atlas introduced a new endgame storyline for Path of Exile. Nick, one of our narrative designers, describes the process of creating lore for the Conquerors in today's news post.
Conquerors of the Atlas was the third major endgame update to Path of Exile's complex endgame, following War for the Atlas (which introduced the Elder) and Atlas of Worlds (which introduced the Shaper) before that. However, unlike those two updates, we were not simply adding a story or augmenting an existing story, but progressing it, and examining the consequences of those events from an outsider's perspective. How did it come about? Well I'm glad you asked me!
We knew we were doing some endgame changes about 6 months ahead of the launch of Conquerors. What we didn't know was the scale of those changes, or what would happen to the existing Atlas and its associated storylines. And ExileCon was coming up quick, where we would be announcing not only this expansion, but ...
