Destiny 2 Dev Tracker

To answer the first question: Yes. The Fond Memories engram features previous Eververse items, so new/returning players can earn items that they didn't previously acquire. As for our more active players, the items can be dismantled for shards/glimmer.

At this time, players can earn Bright Dust to directly purchase most new items as they become available. There will still be a selection of new items that are Silver only, but we'll be communicating this via @Bungie as they appear.

We are continuing to collect feedback on these systems, so thank you for the thread and all responses within.

Sorry about that. We(Community team) wasn't aware that the Gunsmith Bounty changes would affect hold over bounties or we would have communicated it out. We'll try to warn you when things will reset when seasons change, but hoarding bounties is not guaranteed.

Team is investigating.

We are looking into it. Thanks for the report.

We checked on this. The affected Destiny 1 accounts are not lost and we are investigating why they are currently not available for some players who are seeing Tapir errors.

Season 12 will be "Ye Old Engram"

"Antique Engram."

The rarity of high base stat sets only addresses half of the problem. The main problem with Armor 2.0 is that even after you get 60+ pieces to drop... the distributions can still be completely garbage. The different sets of armor also have no identity. They can all rolls the same exact stats, so aside from the 6 seasonal mod slots... every piece of armor is basically the same. This is bad!!!.

Giving each set some weights so that they can be farmed for specific stats would be better. Making sure that pinnacle gear doesn't roll with 60 stats and 5/5/5 mob/rec/res would be better.

If each set had a stat affinity that it would tend to roll more often, there would be a reason to go get it to make that particular build. Currently if I want a high mobility set, there is no way to aim for that, you just have to wait for it to randomly drop for you. I should be able to farm say, Crucible gear... if I want to get a high mobility set.

Random is great, but it can't just be random. There has to be some sense and purpose to it.

edit: My crucible example was not great, and I don't want that to derail the main point of the post. Weighted rolls could be added anywhere. Nightfalls, dungeons, the Whisper/Outbreak/Juju missions, etc. Things that you basically did a few times and then get bored with would now have a unique purpose to obtain certain types of gear.

Weighting/limiting to reign in how random the gear rolls are is absolutely needed to make end game content meaningful... and can be used to extend the life of older content that people no longer participate in. Allowing that gear to have minimums for certain base stats would give them a unique identity that armor 2.0 is completely lacking.

Giving each set some weights so that they can be farmed for specific stats would be better.

Thanks, I'll pass along this feedback as well. :)

I really think you need to have the devs double check this. I have over 500 hours logged since the Steam switchover. 60+ rolls are absolutely not dropping from regular activities in my experience.

Looks like others have confirmed getting these higher stat drops in this thread. I'll pass along feedback that many players are not seeing these drops and they may be too rare.

DemoniEnkeli

If it’s so rare that people don’t believe it’s even possible, perhaps it’s too rare?

Yea that is relevant feedback to give. I'll let the team know that these higher stat rolls on the non-pinnacle activities seem too rare.

Imagine if you could farm every armor piece (Black armory, seasonal, dreaming city, planetary, etc.) with a small chance of this armor having good stats? This change would make every armor set relevant.

This is currently true. All gear does have a chance to roll with high stats. There is a rare chance you could get some 60+ stat armor from Titan.

Some activities could have a higher chance of getting good stats

This is also true with the raid and IB gear. It's weighted towards giving out higher stats, but does have a chance to give low stats. I'll pass along the feedback that with the raids limited amount of drops per week, it feels extra bad to get a poor roll.

Thanks for the post! Armor 2.0 is a relatively young feature that we will continue to iterate on.

Thanks for compiling this list! I’ll send it over to the team so they can have a look. If anyone else has any additional info on when some of the infrequent ones seem to happen more, please feel free to add.

I’m convinced now more than ever that there are a variety of egos at play in Bungie and none of them know what the others are doing or have planned which translates to the mixed messages and “We here you” responses we get.

Sorry for any mixed messages. Both times I’ve tried to convey that we know about the issue without promising a timeline on a fix until we know we can deliver.

So many Bungie fanboys called me a conspiracy theorist when I commented that Collection Rolls is 100% intentional (The "Bug" just happened to come up at the same time the game went F2P and launched on Steam) and they are lying to us, it isn't something that will take more than a few minutes for them to fix, they just don't want to because they don't want the massive influx of new players to get decent rolls of all these exotic armor pieces from Xur on a weekly basis.

A massive chunk of userbase of this sub is blinded by their fanboyism and loyalty for Bungie. It's insane. The fact that they even accept that it takes Bungie months to fix tiny issues (That's the excuse everyone replied to me) is insane to me.

No, there is no conspiracy where we are lying about this to keep players from getting an extra stat roll.

It’s not something that would take a few minutes to fix.

Sorry for the inconvenience, we’ll let you know when we have a fix coming.

Saving this

Xur will not feature random rolls in Season of Dawn. Sorry for the news, but want to set expectations now.

Direct purchase exotic armor will continue to feature collection rolls. Think of this as an avenue for players who have not earned those exotics to check off the box and play around with the perk.

Xur will have the updated Exotic Engram, so once you've collected all weapons, you'll be getting a randomly rolled exotic armor piece each week. Further random roll acquisition will continue to be available through the Nightfall: Ordeal.

We'll continue to collect feedback over Xur and exotic random rolls as it comes in. I have no doubts we'll see players getting some killer rolls from the engram next week, but others continuing their search for the perfect roll.

What's the word on Trials? Or any changes to make PvP more rewarding?

  • Thundercrash

Praise be.

Currently, we’re in the final week for Season of the Undying in Destiny 2. All players should be aware that after this Season comes to an end, some activities and loot sources will become unavailable. Here are some notable callouts:

  • Undying’s free and premium Season rewards—including acquisition for Eriana’s Vow*
  • Eriana’s Vow catalyst quest*
  • Vex Offensive matchmade activity
  • Vex Invasions on the Moon
  • Vex Weapon Data Seeds from Ikora
  • The Gatelord’s Eye Seasonal Artifact
  • Power bonuses granted from the Seasonal Artifact
  • Season-specific Triumphs, seals, and titles

This still doesn't exactly confirm whether the bonus progress on the catalyst quest will be removed. Can you confirm this /u/dmg04 or /u/cozmo23 ?

Praise be.
