I do love the enthusiasm and consistency behind these updates. It's a breathe of fresh air in comparison to other developers that are much more silent. The early MW or Apex days are a good example of that.

Seeing just how passionate the dev is on the YouTube video makes me only wish the best for this team. Hope everything pans out.

Thank you!!

Quick question: since alpha hunters is going to be unavailable, what about the battle pass challenges that are "get 4th place or higher in x amount of alpha hunter games," will those get changed or?

Hi, battle pass designer here. Based on player feedback we've decided to simplify the types of challenges and bias towards challenges that don't require the player to take specific actions or fight over resources with their teammates. So those challenges and all challenges pertaining to removed game modes will be removed and in the short term replaced with "Play Matches" challenges. If you complete those challenges before they're replaced, you'll keep your stars and also you'll be able to do the new challenge for bonus stars.

No current skins change character VFX, only the character's model and weapon models

As Colin mentioned in our update yesterday, one of the tasks the team will be working on is updating the map to better fit the Heart of the Hives mode. Our environment art & level design team were wondering what your favorite parts of the current map are? Let us know on this thread what you like!

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback on this!

Thanks for letting us know your concern! Currently, skins fall into 3 tiers, which cost 500, 1000, and 1500 credits depending on the tier. Each tier should have additional changes to the character to make it more unique.

@WeirdGuyAndy Thanks for the report! Rest assured, this not an actual virus. This is an art file generating a false positive in virus scans. We're working with Microsoft and the Windows Defender team to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the feedback / illustration on this!

Still working on a fix!

Yes, EU servers are currently live. If you'e in queue past a certain amount of time, you can matchmake outside your region. We are currently working on adjusting the amount of time that takes to happen.

They're currently on a 48hr rotation! Like wolfer_ said, it will be back in the future :)

Probably not, Preseason is likely going to be extended. They are really focusing down on the map, mode, stability, and UI in Preseason and I'd suspect that the next major drop in content like new skins, a battlepass, and maybe (maybe) a new hero will be Season 1. Personally, I'd welcome any delays that they'd need to make completely sure they have it down before that next main marketing push for that first season.

Nailed it. We're going to stay in Pre-Season at least until we hit all of the major features we listed in our roadmap.

Mentioning u/iamgrouch in hopes a dev takes notice and adds to their list of to-dos

Thanks for the summon. This is on our list!

Hi. Battle pass designer here. Thanks for bringing this up. I definitely want this to be the way it works at some point, but for various reasons we haven't gotten there yet.

In the short time for this and other reasons the number of battle pass challenges requiring this sort of thing will be going down, and whether I can award for assists will be a factor in whether they come back.

Also, over the next couple of updates we'll be deploying an update for all capture amplifier and kill hive challenges so that they share credit with all teammates.

Hell, I'd be more inclined to play if we got a state of the game update from the devs.

Check out our update we just posted! https://www.playcrucible.com/en-us/news/articles/developer-update-june-4

We turned it off and on again.

We're back with another update! This time we’re covering Pre-Season and our development priorities. https://youtu.be/A-n-Sgilq8c
It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for Crucible! We’ve been thrilled to see people checking out the game and having fun.
While there’s been a great response to the premise of our game from many players, we’ve also heard the feedback that there are features that we need to add as a top priority, like voice chat. We agree, and we’re going to stay in Pre-Season until those features and polish are in Crucible. We’re also going to use our time in Pre-Season as a chance to go all-in on the parts of Crucible that are resonating most strongly with you, our community.
Our next steps:
The community has rallied around Heart of the Hives in an amazing way. Moving forward, we’ll be putting all of our efforts towards Heart of the Hives and what we can do to make that mode shine. Focusing on one mode allows us to refine the design of core systems without the compromises we needed to make to support three game modes. This does mean that we’ll be retiring Harvester Command and Alpha Hunters for the... Read more
