The Settlers IV: History Edition does include Community Pack though (fan-created single-player campaigns). "Im Namen des Konigs" is in fact from a different publisher but it was authorized by Sunflowers. Similar situation to The Settlers IV, that's why I was hopeful. Thanks for clearing it up.

I am not involved with Settlers, so I can't speak to what happened there, but Settlers IV was published by Ubisoft itself back in the day, so maybe that made things legally and licensing-wise easier for their History Edition.

These projects can be quite legally tricky unfortunately, as things were quite different back then than they are today.

What about "By Royal Command" and "In the Name of the King" expansions? Are they going to be included as well?

Only "New Islands, New Adventures" is included, as it is the official expansion created by the Anno 1602 developers. Back then you could often find semi-official (or entirely illegal) mission discs for popular strategy games in shops that had nothing to do with the original developers.

In the case of "In the Name of the King", I think many of those missions were created by community members, and published via a German PC gaming mag. I am myself not familiar with "By Royal Command".

But, in short, the History Editions will include official content created by the original developers that we own the rights to.

Hope that clears it up :)

@DyersEve99 To our knowledge, gold mines generally were infinite. Deep (iron) ore mines can offer infinite ressources but there's no guarantee.
@AndreyKovtun @SilverXGamingHD Must be one of those "famous last words" we keep hearing about.

I get the feelung that they are really putting some thought into this.

Unfortunately, that tempts me into buying Games I allready own.

It would be nice if we could use an online profile from the "old" 1404 in the new one, to be able to hold on to our old achievements...

Hey, so here’s how it works. You should still be able to use your old original 1404 profiles. The History Edition should just recognize your previous profile, and carry it over!

The very first Anno has a special place in the hearts of many of us. Our new dev blog gives you insights into the development of the Anno 1602 History Edition and provides you with a full overview regarding its features and improvements: https://www.anno-union.com/en/devblog-anno-1602-history-edition-2/ http://pbs.twimg.com/media/EaEwGFbXgAEiOVl.jpg

Hey Anno Community,

Last month we announced the release of the Anno History Collection arriving June 25, which will update the beloved first four games in the Anno series to take better advantage of modern PCs, while maintaining the gameplay we all know and love. As promised at the announcement, we will have a separate blog post for each of the games to not only talk about the new improvements, but also about the games and their place in Anno history themselves. As this is the first blog, we will take this opportunity to talk a bit about the History Collection in general, before diving right into Anno 1602 History Edition!

Our goals for the History Collection

The first question that came to many minds upon our announcement was of course “why?”, so let us start with that. As you know, Anno 1800 has been a huge success for the team, becoming the fastest-selling Anno game right out of the gate, and attracting more than a million players within its first nine months on the market...

Just chiming in to say that while we have no concrete plans for now, we are keeping an eye on this thread :)

Fair enough. I guess "Almost complete edition with all currently released major content" wasn't a snazzy title :D

I found it hard to imagine there will be no further expansions of the base game.

There's no official public announcement, but devs comments in the ubi forum and during dev streams say that there's nothing planned right now.

Previous Anno games only got ~1 year of post-release updates for comparison.

Indeed. We currently don't have any plans for additional content beyond the things for this year, which is already significantly more post-launch content than any Anno has ever received before :)

And of course we also want to work on new games in the future as well!

@sburaksenol Thank you for the report! This issue is currently under investigation by our team. We will share the release notes of all future game updates as soon as they're ready.
@_gautamsingh Hey, thank you for your feedback regarding the statistics screen. We'll forward it to the team :)

Get ready for analogue Anno 1800

And another kind of announcement was made last week which we are extremely excited about: On Thursday Kosmos Spiele (whom you may be familiar with from games such as “Catan” and “Legends of Andor”) announced “Anno 1800: The Board Gam...

When is the release? :O

Fall 2020 already, so not too far off!

Can't wait for von Malching to try and buy the club :(

Sounds good! I've got the Anno board game 1503 from Kosmos and that is a lot of fun for the family. Looking forward to 1800 Edition.

It's cool that after all this time (almost 15 years), there is a new Anno board game...and it is again from Kosmos. Speak of coming full circle :)

Nice, Martin Wallace is a good designer, Brass is one of my top boardgames of all time.

We were definitely very excited to hear that he would be designing Anno 1800!
