Hey this is a great thread for me to once again say DE, please add the Toggle Prime Details option to the Rubedo-Plated Rhino and Phased Vauban skins. These skins (especially Phased Vauban) are pretty busted on the Prime variants of their respective frames, in ways that the toggle would instantly fix.

It would also be really nice if half (or, in Phased Vauban's case again, basically all) of their color channels didn't do nothing, but one thing at a time.

u/Rebulast pretty please?

I cannot commit to anything but we can at least take a look.

Nicely done!

you do not miss do you

We are investigating the issue. May I ask what platform you are playing on?

We are investigating.

Hey u/No_Introduction_5742. What platform do you play on?

Who can I possibly persuade into getting these into the next Spiderverse

Archwizard_Drake

I can understand that, especially if people didn't actually explain their choices.

On the flip side however, Warframe names are intended to be meaningful, and NOT having ANY context creates its own bias towards names with meanings people will intrinsically recognize. Otherwise names like Voruna or Ulfra are just random letters, while people assume only Lycath has any meaning 'cuz it's one they know.

Right - I feel that if we showed the meaning behind every name, we'd miss out on a lot of original creativity. If we only chose names rooted in mythology or history, it leaves no room for original thought.

'Xaku' has no etymological origins, but I'm glad it's a name we used. I'm glad we have names that do borrow language culturally, but IMO it's also valid to create something new without constraints.

I thoroughly enjoyed this

Doesn't seem to be on EGS that I could see

You have to launch Warframe through Steam to access Tennogen

Really doesn't help that DE didn't include a guide as to what these names mean so I'm having to independently research them:

  • Raksha: Means "Protector", likely a nod to the Rakshasi of Hindu mythology, malevolent bestial demigods akin to demons (D&D typically has them be tiger-like but the mythology is non-specific about what 'beast' they are); also the name of Mowgli's wolf mother in The Jungle Book
  • Dynara: Possibly a spelling of Deianira, Greek for "man-destroyer"; the mother of Lycaon, a king who was turned into a wolf by Zeus after feeding his own son to the god
  • Lycath: Most likely derived from "lycan", as in wolf, but isn't actually a word
And because it's the only one people recognize without researching, probably the default pick for people who don't know the meanings. This is why name guides are important, DE!
  • Disa: Possibly derived from a feminine spirit of Fate from Norse mythology, OR a heroine from Scandinavian mythology who outwitted the god Freyr; can't really find a connection to wolves
  • Ylva: Old Swedish name meaning She-wolf
  • Ulfra: "Ulf" is Old Norse for Wolf
  • Žvorūna: Lithuanian goddess of forests and the hunt; the name comes from the Lithuanian word "žvėris" meaning "beast"
  • Ghella: From the Artsakh dialect of Armenian meaning Wolf
  • Fengarou: Possibly derived from "Fengari", modern Greek for "Moon"; allegedly a portmanteau of "Fenrir" and "Garou" (Japanese for starving wolf OR French for werewolf)
  • Nashoba: Choctaw Native American meaning Wolf

And for the people who wanted Fenrir or Fenris: Fenrisulfr was a male wolf, and this is a feminine frame.
Most wolves from Norse mythology were depicted as male actually, which also tosses his sons Skoll and Hati/Managarmr, or his sister's dog Garmr out the window.

Cerberus, also a male hellhound.

When we originally pitched the names to the Design Council, adding context/explaining the historical or imagined context to the name was optional. A bonus if you did, but not something we needed.

It would have been a bias for the Community wide voting to include some of the names with context and others without when it wasn't a necessary step for tossing your name in for consideration

Hey! There seems to be an issue for some accounts others can buy it just fine. We are investigating.

kalidibus

Has there been any updates as to whether we'll get account merging when crosssave happens?

Right now I find it hard to buy anything because I don't know if I have to abandon one of my account (console or PC) when cross save happens, or if the things I buy can be combined.

I just end up buying nothing because I don't want to risk it.

all the info currently available regarding crossplay/save is live here:
https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1326149-cross-platform-play-initial-public-test/

That's likely a question we'd tackle on a Devstream

Yes! This sale is live on all platforms. CrossSale when lol
