Dmed you, but for anyone else--the silent devotion bug has been around for a while
Silent devotion is definitely an outstanding issue.

A whole team shouldn't be able to roll up behind a player just because distant and slightly muted explosions are going off. It isn't consistent or fun to play against. Fun should be the primary focus of game design, not realism.
Also I initially clipped this because the reaction was funny, no rage meant to be directed at you <3.
I'd regard this as a subjective example or not definitely a bug. The bombardment missiles are no less distant than players coming up a ramp that is out of LoS.
Regardless, I've suggested to our audio folks that I'd like to hear our characters more than from foot falls alone (eg. gear movement). Impossible to say if that would have increased the sonics enough in this case.

Do you happen to have Dizzy's pov? It's impossible to say; it's just as likely Path flew in on a grapple, which I've seen more than not. Regardless, I've an open issue with our audio folks to consider in-air acoustics. Not just for Path grapples; even generally, players falling should realistically have some tell (eg. Lifeline's pants rustling).
Feel free to DM me vods and one line guiding what we're analysing as wrong.
frustration i guess
i dont message anyone, but when trying to play with someone else on the same router/network, we cant play in the same game. we can play separately. we can play any other multiplayer game in the same lobby
but apex? nope, one will get d/c'ed before the game starts. it happens to a good amount of people, apparently, as i've seen lots of questions to them regarding it
at this point i dont even see them ever fixing it so i just barely get to play, unfortunately. so frustration like that building up then people messaging devs, i guess
PS4? Nighthawk router?
Here is another instance where shooting an RE-45 inside one of the Capitol City buildings completely blocks view of the enemy due to muzzle flash

This shows a twitch clip + image. The Pathfinder being shot at is completely blocked
It really needs to be tuned down across the board even when not in bugged situations. The game will be much more enjoyable
Thanks; also submitted.
I've bugged it / has been accepted internally.
Technically you'll still be running the game via Origin, it'll just launch in the background like Uplay does.
Not true. Apex will launch directly with Steam without running Origin.
Just wondering if the update today included the fix for the hard crash that's hit a bunch of us randomly. Thanks for your hard work <3
Yup, today's patch should address hangs.
Wait, y'all know of this problem from a game that was years ago and just never bothered to fix it? Seriously? Then the same code made it to another game years later, wow, just wow.
By "haunted us" since Titanfall, I meant the code has existed and been used for a long time, but we'd no reason to believe it could be broken. Under the right conditions, used a lot more by game features, and by 10s of millions of players, we're going to find things we've never experienced in our testing and even for multiple games!
Might be a stupid question, but will this patch go out to consoles as well? I’ve crashed three times since the update on PS4, twice in a row on one night
Yup, PC will go first, but consoles have a similar issue, though much less prolific. Technically, this bug has haunted us since Titanfall, and it just so happens that the erroneous code is used much more for Season 3 features.
Was happy to help and send that file over, can't wait until it's fixed!
🐐
Will there be fixes to FPS drops too? My FPS halved this season from 120 to 50-60
Are you on an AMD processor (which Ryzen family I am forgetting)? There was a major regression found, and as far as I'm aware, that was addressed.
Could it be also possible one day to have a reconnect feature. It would make these crash a bit less frustrating
It's on a list. There is a lot of state and data synchronized throughout a match that is non-trivial to re-synchronize without having taken the same steps to get to that point. In some cases, this might fundamentally break the game or leave it in a worse state than not allowing the disconnect. There's a lot of these issues to work through to make it as perfect and safe as possible, as we found when hardening game saves in TF2.
It's super frustrating for us too, to see this happening to players. We got a dump file from a community member that got this reliably. The problem has been identified and fixed. There's a process to get the client patch out to the world, which has been annoyingly long for the engineers involved in identifying and fixing the bug. I can't _promise_ a date, because it has moved twice on us now, but I'm told Monday.
Apparently it was there right before release but they got the load time down and therefore it was no longer necessary
Argonomic is a designer on Titanfall and Apex btw. :P
And you've got it right. There were several iterations of the "staging" area was, with the Training area being the final iteration. Ultimately, it was not needed for matches as most of the map loading is done in advance of matchmaking and and only a few seconds needed to swap out lobby bits.
Has a Toggle been added that lets you pick if you want to be auto escaped out of a looting screen when shot? That used to annoy me.
but I haven't played in over a month because you match maker keeps putting me in European, NA and Asian servers from OCE. I don't know if it a low population thing or what? I am using netstat and netlimiter to check where I connect to and it is rarely in my own region.
You will find yourself on an NA or EU server only when in the lobby, as we run those servers from there. Your match should always be played from the region of your party leader.
Two more I'd like to add to the requests:
- A an option to change "hold stick to run" to "click stick to toggle between run and walk" (with default to run). I hate holding the stick the entire game every second when I always want to run anyway.
- I would personally kill for an "aim ease in" setting in the advanced controls like they have on Overwatch for controllers. This is by far my biggest desire in the game. Linear is my preferred aiming curve by a long shot, but without an aim ease in setting to make the beginning of the aim curve a little flatter, linear starts too fast for fine control. I feel like I'm forced to use Classic just because anything less doesn't give you fine enough control for sniping or subtle aim movements.
/u/raymecv is your sticks wizard.
Hey Zilch do you think we could get a better way to scroll through inventories? Aside from the scroll wheel
What did you have in mind? Along those lines, I have asked a lot why we don't have an option to scale the row sizes to fit more on one "page".
