Companies saying nice words is not some big grand gesture that's going to save the world, and the fact people are praising these armchair activists disgusts me.

The focus of the American people should be on the efforts of those on the ground, out in protest, trying to elicit real change. Not on these multimillion distraction machines.

But that's just my two cents.

Correct. But people might. The mistake is to act like any company is a constant single entity. Companies are made of people. So THESE people, in THIS studio, at THIS moment, are concerned and trying to help in a bunch of ways; and this is one. You can disagree with the actions being taken, but to wave it away with "lol companies amirite" is lazy armchair monocle adjusting.

Listen if somebody wants to say "a videogame posted a message, everything is okay now" then yeah I'll laugh them right out of town with you. But don't discount the power of this message coming at people from any and all directions. Any one of which might be that needle on the haystack that finally gets someone to think for themselves, or realize they're not alone, or- I dunno. I think we all need to say it, as loud as we can.

Your install files are in a bad state (lots of people have had this issue today), the fix is annoying but easy: run a repair on your game from Origin. It’ll download some more, and you should be good once it’s finished.

Not to get all nerd-glasses on this, but I want to point out that Declan made sure this interface does some excellent sorting. Stuff you probably care about at the top, easy to browse through.

You can see it tomorrow by trying her Ult on the Firing Range. Which is obviously a stress test of this ability, since there's, uh, a lot on the ground there.

Yeah, sounds like a Secondary Battle Pass with annoying extra steps. I don't know why they want to make lore discovery and a PvE mode such a chore.

The *intention* is that this is all just fun reward for the time people put into the game anyway. Shouldn't feel like a chore. If you read the blog post we talk a bit about the inspiration (January soiree event, Forge lore), and such.

Interesting.... is Vinson Dynamics named after the dev Rayme Vinson?

Our own Ryan Lastimosa - designer of many many weapons in the Apex universe... named one of the manufacturers after me a long time ago, as a surprise. It was just a fun easter egg (and very nice of him). Then they became a faction in Titanfall 2 MP, and... listen, it's very strange. =p

Just to clarify, May 12th will begin our ability to find treasure packs and May 19th the first chapter of the quest opens?

Correct. You'll be able to get the one-a-day Treasure Packs as soon as the update comes out (the 12th), and read the prologue story chapter in the Quest tab. Then on the 19th (one week later) the first Hunt unlocks. You'll need to have picked up your 5th Treasure Pack to go play it.

Finish that first Hunt and you'll get a Weapon Charm, your first piece of the artifact, and Chapter One of the story.

Well, no. This is 100% free. The only way to inject money into it is if you want to pay to catch up on AC packs, which nobody should ever have to do.

Luckily the calculus for Apex making money comes down to "are people playing it and enjoying their time?". So that slides in nicely with the goals you'd want as a designer on the game. So from that angle: yes, sure. We want you to play the game and keep it successful. Oh no, m'secrets. ;)

does it matter what map you play on? also after 9 weeks is it not possible to earn these treasure packs? say i dont play the game for a week out of these 9 weeks is it possible to earn and get the packs next week?

The Treasure Packs are earnable all season long, yeah, so you'd be fine. =)

You can find them on any map, as well.

Same rewards, with the small wrinkle that the Apex Packs (like always) are randomized. So if you have my luck you'll get 3 trackers, and your friend will get an Heirloom. Because of course. =p

You have to be invited. The first mission doesn’t release for a week so everyone will have to wait. I don’t know how common the treasure packs are gonna be and only one player can grab one once a day. They’re adding more incentive to play regularly.

It will be very straightforward to get a Treasure Pack for the day. We want people who think "okay, I only have 15 minutes to play before I head back to work" to not be left out.

Well, that makes sense. The season 3 trailer showed a ton of awesome looking new content and was before most of the things people are complaining about like SBMM.

A better metric is to compare views of the season 3 trailer with the season 4 trailer when it comes out. I'll bet money that it will be significantly less.

I dont say much on here just read then lmao. Good job on EVERYTHING Respawn! I loved the latest bamboozle and trailer you guys put out. Love the Apex universe. I regret not ever playing Titanfall but at the time it was console exclusive and I didnt have that console. I do have to go back and play both on PC. Thank you so much for everything you guys work so hard on and we players ENJOY every bit of the story telling and new stuff we get to experience. I am a strong supporter of you guys when it comes to content. I've spent more than I'd like to lol but it's hard not to when you guys are kicking ass! (I have every Heriloom, that should give ya an idea) <3

(Titanfall 2 can usually be found for super-cheap nowadays. Nab it for the SP if you want a direct injection of sweet sweet lore. Never know what you'll learn!)

I learned that I hadn't fully appreciated all the work that's gone into the Legends' voices and personalities and random (context aware) comments, until they were all gone.

That's why the dummies at least TTY to the chat feed, because to not even get the "Ring's far..." type comments was almost game breaking. =p

They were taken out for the Halloween event. Adding them back in is a big change, and would have put getting this done in time at risk. If we play Nighttime King's Canyon again, I'd bet good money they'll have the balloons back. =)
