Hey all, the watch missions service went down around 24 hours ago (~6:30PM PT, June 18th) and it's now back up - you can now continue watching pro league games from this split and complete your watch missions. If you watched any games in the past 24 hours, you will not have earned any credit, but we will automatically reprocess your lost progress and reward you by Tuesday of next week.

As a quick reminder, you may watch any pro league game from this split on watch.lolesports.com, live or VOD, to earn progress :)

Hey! these missions can be completed by watching VODs or live games from this split only. unfortunately, there was no way for you to know that and that's on us, and it probably feels especially worse since several leagues have not started their split yet.

we're looking at improving clarity so you know when a match you're watching is eligible for rewards and if it's not, why it's not eligible to make things less confusing.

OPL and LPL started their split, but the VODs have not been uploaded to watch.lolesports.com just yet. they should be available within a couple days. if you catch them live, you'll be able to earn rewards.

Hey I have been trying to watch Oceania and China VODs but they tell me its not available. Is there any that I can actually watch and give me the reward?

hopefully my answer to jamout86 is helpful for you. if you catch those games live, you'll be able to progress your missions. but the VODs should be there, and eligible for watch missions, shortly.

hiya, these watch missions can only be completed by watching live games or VODs from the current split. LPL and OPL are the only leagues playing right now and their VODs will be uploaded to watch.lolesports.com within a couple days.

we'll also be taking a look at improving the clarity of watch missions so you understand when you're earning rewards, and if something is broken, why it's broken.

Hello fantastic fellow friends. Some info on what happened, what's happening, and what's gonna happen.

What happened? We made a mistake that prevented you from getting credit. We fixed this issue and you should be able to get credit by watching VODs and live matches now. You may not be able to get credit for rewatching a VOD you watched earlier while missions were not working. Read on to the what's gonna happen section for how we're going to fix this.

What's happenin'? Not much, hbu? How about that [champion] pick in [team] vs [team]?

What's gonna happen? We are working to grant mission credit to those who watched at least 10 minutes of Worlds while logged in, no matter when you watched, so you don't need to puzzle together what you may have already watched or not to get credit. We'll do it for you. This should happen within the next couple days and I'll update this thread once it's complete.

Things should be smooth here on out now. Your adblocker is very likely not an issue, but as always, look through this FAQ article to make sure it's nothing on your end. If you go through this list and it's still not working for you, it's likely something on our end like it was today.

If you experience any other issues, gimme your frustrations in this thread and we'll work to help you out. Preferably watch mission issues, but if you want help with literally anything else, sure why not I'll give it a shot.

Update: Earlier this week, we reprocessed those who were unable to complete their mission on the first day of Worlds, where we had Watch Mission issues. If you still have not completed your mission, PM me your summoner name (edit: and region) and we'll take a look.

tbh it probably has a higher likelihood than most based off last year.

I carefully crafted and thought about my picks last year and spent the entire time between Play-ins and Groups to make my choice. I ended up getting like 24 points. This time, I'm going with the random number generator that is my heart and hoping for the best.

I have a sideways related question. On the Rewards page it indicates I have watched 458 games for 434 hours watched. Does the latter figure only include game time, or does it include the desk segments/PGL, etc?

The latter figure is represented by the former in your question.

1. The guy you're talking to is on the technical side of the client/website. He's the wrong person to talk to about meta.

2. Maybe you're watching the wrong games. There's been only 6 games. In those 6 I've seen Gangplank, Renekton, Gnar (sorta). Plenty of melee top.

I agreed to try and help with anything. I'm the wrong person to talk to about this but that won't stop me from offering advice on things I shouldn't give advice about.

There have definitely been some wonky picks in top. My uninformed guess is that popular bruise-y melee toppers like Gnar & Gatorman need an early lead to press their advantage into the mid game before they get outscaled by most bot lane carries. If their power spike is delayed long enough, then they end up not being relevant (or way less relevant) when they finally come online, hence why we're seeing safe but abusive folks like Kennen, Tristana, and Karma up there. Maybe we'll see Caitlyn top; that'd be a fun to watch scribbles in the script
