hey, i know a few of us are wondering how this works with skins. i assume you won't be able to buy skins for champs you don't permanently own but do you have any idea of how that will work?
I’m not positive so don’t want to get it wrong. It’s either that you won’t be able to buy skins for champs you don’t own or you can but it would revert to a full skin shard if you later didn’t own the champion any more. Not positive which, but I know that doesn’t really help. We’ll have more details in the next few months before this launches in the winter. I’ll make sure this is in the FAQ.
Do I need to renew gamePass every month or just buy it once and the Champions will stay?
My understanding is that you’ll still be able to unlock Champions/Little Legends/Cards/Agents in the normal ways while playing with an account linked to Game Pass. Everything earned from gameplay will then stay unlocked later if you let your subscription lapse. That’s part of the reason for the bonus experience that also comes with a linked account.
Elsewhere in the thread there are people comparing it to the Riot Unlocked model that’s used in PC Bangs and that’s very close to what we’re doing here.
What happens when you leave riot?
It’s on the long checklist of stuff we do when someone leaves Riot. We turn off their RP stipend and switch their name back. Sometimes we mess this up but it’s very rare so if you see someone with Riot in their name they’re almost definitely legit.
No idea if the original files are around somewhere and if it would be easy enough to remove the offending audio files. (Or worth the time investment).
I’m going to ask around a little. I’ve heard S1 was amazing but I’ve never seen it. I’d love to find a way to repost it even if it was with no music or music that didn’t fit as well out of our library. Maybe put up some title cards at the beginning explaining why there are weird awkward silences?
Edit: Looks like OP posted some links below. Excited to check these out. Still going to look into why we can’t have them on one of our channels…but also now I need to do it in a way that doesn’t narc on the links below in case there’s some other reason we needed to take them down.
It is so sad that after all these years music rights is still so archaic. Movies and TV shows have the same issue, especially with older ones that fans want HD releases of.
For sure. E.g., the “Scrubs” streaming versions are a travesty; without the original songs some of the best scenes just don’t hit the same.
I’ll look into it but I bet it’s music rights. That’s the thing that kills us on a lot of older content.

A little different, but a lot of the team names in our in-house fantasy football league are portmanteaus of NFL players and champs/skins. Off the top of my head we had:
K/DA Amari (K/DA Akali + Amari Cooper)
Pool Party Dak (Pool Party Zac + Dak Prescott)
Mecha Aaron (Mecha Aatrox + Aaron Rodgers)
Christian McAhri (Ahri + Christian McCaffrey)
Travis Kledce (Kled + Travis Kelce)
Kennen Allen (Kennen + Keenan Allen)

Wanted to share with everyone the update that Garena just shared on lol.garena.ph and the League of Legends - Philippines Facebook page so everyone here can see it:
On July 9, 2:16 PM GMT+8, there was an unauthorized modification of the League of Legends PH client lobby where a certain javascript code was inserted. This code performs blockchain mining on affected computers, which consumes CPU resources from these computers. Apart from increased CPU usage, extensive analysis from our security engineers has determined that there is no other impact on affected computers. At July 11, 4:15 AM GMT+8, our security engineers have removed this javascript code and ensure that all users, including those who were previously affected, will no longer encounter this issue.
