And you can design your Ruler without using Under One Rule as an origin :)
Or.. you're being bombarded by a cloaked fleet, maybe? if.. that's even possible..
Are you running mods?

If you wait a few minutes, reboot Steam, it will likely complete the update cycle then.If you're referring to the launcher cycling into auto-update: Go to start, Add/Remove Programs, and uninstall Paradox Launcher V2. Then attempt to restart the game, the launcher will download and reinstall first, and that will likely resolve the launcher issue! Read more

This appears to be an issue related to the game resolution setting and Direct X 11. People have been reporting that pressing alt+tab or alt+enter on the game will resolve the issue temporarily. For a more permanent fix: In the launcher, go to Game Settings, and ensure that your resolution is set correctly, and choose borderless fullscreen or windowed mode. The devs are aware of the desync issues in the coop beta, and are hard at work resolving the issues. :) Thanks for trying out the beta, just the same!
Hello everyone! I’m XM, the lead designer of Galactic Paragons. From the beginning of development, we’ve followed one simple mantra - make leaders matter. What you are going to read about in the following paragraphs are the results of months of work following that direction.

For leaders to start being significant, there needed to be a lot less of them. With this goal in mind, we removed the research scientist positions currently in the game, and combined them into a single “Head of Research” Council position (we’ll talk in more detail about the Council later). We also allowed leaders to perform Council duties while maintaining their field positions. These changes dramatically reduced the number of leaders you need to keep track of.
The lower leader count also enabled us to make them a lot more powerful.

My setup takes ~40 seconds to load and I don't have a great computer. I suggest nuking your old save files and oos folder, since these grow rather large sometimes. You can also manually delete your /steamapps/stellaris folder and then re-download, since something doesn't seem right here.If none of this stuff fixes it, go to support.paradoxplaza.com and open a ticket, customer support should be able to help you with this. This is a known issue on the open beta branch, monthly market trades are not added/taken away from the empire stockpile.
In a war for independence you do not gain claims, you only gain your independence.

Management:
The management of the game, when you have some more planets (i have 122 in the moment) is pure nightmare! The "Sector Focus" seems to be totally useless.
So my idea:
Sectors and Planets
In the section "Planets and sectors" you should add a possibility to manage the planets.
First each sector with an icon to show planets in the sector.
Then a possibility to "auto" build/upgrade on planets.

It has been my experience that when you experience a modded crash, you very rarely get the error message that caused the crash. (because, the game is crashing and can't log errors at this point).Your best bet is to go through your modlist, disable any out of date mods, and see if that resolves the issue. If not, you can disable them in batches to see what group of mods is causing the problem, then disable them one by one until you find the culprit.
Your best bet is to go to support.paradoxplaza.com and open a ticket. Customer Support will be able to help you with this!

Hello Stellaris Community!
The Devs are currently working on a small update planned for next week, containing fixes for some of the more pressing issues that you’ve found so far. So no Dev Diary this week, but please keep providing feedback and bug reports, they’re very valuable to us!
Instead we have something special for this week: To celebrate the release of the First Contact Story Pack, our Art Department has teamed up with ArtStation to do an Art Blast [pdxint.at]featuring completed and concept art from First Contact!
“We looked to the stars and saw that we were not alone.”
First contact. It has been the inspiration for so many stories in so many IPs over the years and now it has come to Stellaris.
That exciting, sometimes frightening point in your civilization's timeline when the signals and messages you’ve sent out into the darkness of space have been answered. Or perhaps you have been living a peaceful life, minding your own business, believing that you are the only ones out there w... Read more

You are not alone! The galaxy is vast and full of wonders, but it’s also full of alien empires you’re going to encounter, whether you’re ready or not. First Contact offers a set of new origins and mechanics that give players the chance to tell stories about their civilizations’ early encounters with visitors from the stars — ones that may not have come in peace!

Now, you and your fellow prisoners have overtaken the ship and found yourselves banding together to survive and thrive as a diverse new community. Hello Stellaris Community!
We’re now less than a week away from the release of the First Contact Story Pack! You can preorder it here[pdxint.at]. For those of you who don’t want to read this summary, we have Community Manager Mordred Viking on the Stellaris YouTube reading, so you don’t have to!
Today, we’re here to “dig into” what the Custodians have been up to while the Expansion team has been working on First Contact. As many of you know, the Custodian team works on fixing bugs, improving the UI, increasing performance, adding new modding support, working on the AI and adding new content to previously released DLC.
While there are additions to multiple DLC in Canis Minor, one of the biggest new features is included in the Ancient Relics Story Pack: archaeotechnologies. Archaeotechs are ancient technologies, repurposed to fit and amplify your current technologies and are generally found by excavating dig sites, or completing your precursor event chain and doing the... Word of advice from someone who moderates on non-Steam forums and such, don't let the power you've been given, go to your head. And also, don't overload yourself. Sometimes being proactive can be stressful, so locate a balance. Because Volunteer Moderating is stressful.
Thanks for the advice! I've been a community manager for two large TTRPG companies over the last 4 years, so while Steam is a new venue for me, I do recognize the importance of a work/life balance.
