Like this idea, we could base the size of the buttons on how many options are presented, in order to try spread them out in this manner, to a certain minimum size before we add a scroll bar (no one wants to scroll for their option either!)

Those menu's are all a central system at the minute, so it'd be quite easy to fix this for all of those style menus.

Mod Lenny (Unknown Lead)

I thought y'all had no clue what Lenny was doing, until I read that The Unknown is literally the name of a team. Like Lenny just showed up one day and nobody had the courage to ask what he was doing in the office

Lol, it's kind of amusing whenever it shows up in JIRA or on one of our internal company presentations, and people are like... "huh?!"

This is awesome! I remember messing around in MatLab during my maths degree on things like this!

I'd like to extend the maths challenge to calculate the average number of chests to obtain any 1 full Barrows set.

EDIT: But for real, I think it's great Jagex is doing what they can to keep the community involved in these times. If you're a generally solo player, I highly recommend searching the OSRS Clans forums section and joining a social, skilling, PvP, or PvM clan. It really makes the game much more enjoyable having friends with you every step on the way. Big shout outs to Totus, Casual BA, and Oculus PVM!

Couldn't recommend getting into a clan community more.

On the setting menu overhaul, first thing I thought of was being able to manually zoom. Lavas and BA healing are two things that immediately pop into my head where I know it's used in the side panel. Also having brightness in the side panel is nice to see real time changes in game, but I suppose that's not too different than roofs.

Yeah, we'd keep the key important settings on the side menu, ones you need access to potentially whilst in combat or similar.

We're a community driven game, and we really like to take player suggestions directly to the game. Expect to see this very soon!

Amazing! Zuk is just misunderstood :(

Your outie is skilled at both grinding and meme creation.

Awesome write up of your thoughts! Appreciate it :)

Daily events like this are not part of modern OSRS design rules, so at the very least not in that form.

Remain a huge fan of the concept but self admittedly we've struggled to design ideas that we think genuinely work - with continued room to expand into several more alignment sets.

It's one thing for us to design 2 or 3, but realistically this system benefits by getting to 7 or 8 as in the image.

The question is how do you get the balance right and create meaningful different use cases for the sets? Does it become tedious as just another thing to switch based on your activity?

Skilling prayers are a popular idea but how do we do it so it's not just a case of now bring prayer potions (and potentially max prayer bonus) to every skilling activity with just another thing to manage.

I don't think we're closed off to ever contemplating this again but for the forseeable we aren't revisiting this, though perhaps someone will have an S tier suggestion of genuinely balanced and well thought out ideas. There's lots of awesome ideas amongst the suggestions but in practice we've not made em wor...

Achievements (PvM): This project remains at the high-level concept stage. The idea is to have various tasks/challenges against bosses, ranging from 'Kill Giant Mole without receiving any damage'--

We are but men, not gods.

The idea ultimately is on the lower end of the spectrum, it can help get players new to it thinking about how they can do the boss in a better fashion - but on the higher end it presents room for new challenges, pushing the boundaries of what can be done.

Disgusting

Passed it on to investigate on Monday when we're back in.

Of course this is ridiculous if it is the case, and apologies to Zuhaar for this delay.

That is flipping awesome! Thanks for doing this - really cool to see :)

I flippin love threads like this, like you sometimes lose that feeling of how many people out there are playing this game, as a dev team when you're just stuck in the office each day, bumps of motivation along the way! <3

Hey love the Wiki integration, such a great step!

However, if an entity is far away you will start running towards it, aswell if you can't reach it, you can't "look it up" if it is at a bit longer distance. This is possible through runelite etc.

Is it intended this way?

To add to Gambit's comment, we have various 'triggers' we can use in RuneScript, for NPCs and Scenery there is two main types:

  • Ops - Up close, such as attacking with melee, talking to.
  • Aps - Attacking with range, or interactions from a distance up to 10.

There is a third type of trigger, which we only have for Players, Clicks - this was added for us with the Deadman Spectator tool set originally, but has since been used for the 'Report' function on players etc.

All in all, 3 types, 'ops', 'aps' and 'clicks', we don't have clicks on NPCs or Scenery (trees, walls, doors, etc).

We'd very much like clicks for both NPCs and Scenery as it'd be useful for other things too :), it's just a matter of priority for the engine team who are focused on Clan Support, some additional things we need for the next League, etc, but can get smaller requests like this every now and then.

The ultimate debugging technique. Turn it off, turn it back on again.

It's kind of amazing to think that the issue got sorted so fast when you consider it's January 1st.
Well done to everyone involved.

Thanks! We have escalation procedures for stuff, which in this case came to me, before my investigation realised this was a bigger issue than just Vorkath having some problems - at which point I got others involved too.
