Greetings Moonkins.

We noticed that Balance druid gameplay was seeing a trend towards sitting in Solar and trying not to leave it, especially in Multi-DoT situations. Not engaging with a decent chunk of your core rotation to stay in Solar Eclipse is not a playstyle that we nor the original developers had intended, so we released a change last week that was aimed at preventing mastery snapshotting pre-pull by resetting Eclipse when engaging a boss.

Having your Eclipse state reset on boss pull does a few things:

  • It lets Balance druids start pulls on a relatively even playing field (even after wiping)
  • It makes you less reluctant to participate in trash pulls instead of saving an Eclipse state, and
  • It also doesn’t punish a player who was recently in Solar, and starts a boss with their bar pushing towards Lunar Eclipse

Hello everyone, welcome to the start of Delves end game testing on the realm, “These Go To Eleven”!

We’re very excited to have people come in and see what we have in store for our endgame difficulty.

We wanted to start things off with a layout of what we currently have, what we’re planning next, and our goals behind these decisions.

Before Season 1 begins in The War Within players will have access to Tiers 1, 2, and 3 difficulty in delves. We expect players who have been keeping up with the current season will prefer tiers 2 and 3, while newer players will begin in tier 1 before graduating up to 2 and eventually 3 when they gear up.

When Season 1 begins we will open up tiers 4 through 11 along with introducing a few mechanics in tiers 4 and above: seasonal progression, death counters, and Zekvir’s Influence.

WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria

  • Players who are holding the Tusks of Mannoroth cosmetic item on their non-plate wearing characters will now see an option on Pythagorus at any Infinite Bazaar to trade their item for a version that they can use to learn the Tusks of Mannoroth appearance for plate characters on their account.

Cataclysm Classic

  • Valor Points will now behave like Conquest and the current weekly cap will be replaced with a rolling seasonal cap.
    • Developer’s note: If you’ve missed any Valor Points in previous weeks since Cataclysm Classic launched, you’ll now be able to catch up from those weeks.
  • There is no longer a cap to the number of times you may earn Valor Points from Random Dungeon Finder each week, up to your normal Valor Points cap.
  • The Hood of Malefic wing affect should work once again.
  • Fixed an issue where the Wrack spell during the Sinestra fight could cause your game to freeze and crash.

        • Infliction of Sorrow has been redesigned – When Vampiric Strike damages an enemy affected by your Virulent Plague, it extends the duration of the disease by 3 seconds and deals 20% of the remaining damage to the enemy. After Gift of the San’layn ends, your next Scourge Strike consumes the disease to deal 200% of its remaining damage to the enemy.
        • An issue with Blood Beast heal and damage values have been fixed.

Hello Hunters! We’re very excited to unveil the class and spec tree updates for Hunter today!

We had a few goals going into this update, and we wanted to communicate those so the Hunter community will have some more direction when giving feedback in the coming weeks.

Across the Hunter core tree and all spec trees, we had these goals:

  • Improve secondary stat scaling across all Hunter specializations
  • Condense existing damage effects
  • Conservatively expand on the range of Hunter utility
  • Solidify rotational gameplay and fantasy of each spec

Core Tree

The Hunter core tree had a substantial amount of throughput relative to other core trees, which all had to be generic given how differently each spec can utilize the Hunter class tools and spells. This led to a lot of passive damage instances and didn’t do a ton to expand on each spec’s gameplay.

Hello again! Currently there is a visual issue in the Valor Points UI and we’re working on a fix that shows the correct number of points that you’ve earned this season as of this week (maximum of 6400). We’ll be sure to update the hotfix thread once the fix is live.

Additionally, the hotfix for removing the Valor Points cap from Random Dungeon Finder should now be live. Thank you so much for your reports.

This Friday, June 14, please join members of the World of Warcraft development team in PvP on The War Within Beta Test Realms as we playtest Rated Battleground Blitz and Deephaul Ravine. Rated Battleground Blitz is a new Rated solo battleground game mode and Deephaul Ravine is a new battleground, both coming with the expansion launch. Check out the Beta notes for more information on these features.

We’ll get underway at 2:00 p.m. PDT (4:00 p.m. CDT, 5:00 p.m. EDT) with two hours of playtesting. We’ll start first with playtesting Rated Battleground Blitz for an hour, then continue into Deephaul Ravine for the final hour at 3:00 p.m PDT (5:00 p.m. CDT, 6:00 p.m. EDT).

To playtest this with us, log onto the End Game Realm “These Go To Eleven”, which has max level character templates and access to various vendors. Come help us test the Warband feature on your favorite characters! We want to test how character info on multiple characters merge when it becomes account wide.

This is how the testing will work:

  • June 12 – The PTR realms for The War Within Pre-Expansion update (11.0.1) will become available to copy characters only. We will ask that you copy as many characters as you like to the PTR, especially multiple characters that you have played a lot will be particularly helpful for this test.
  • June 17 – We will run the conversion and open the servers for logging in.

Please be patient. The Warband conversion may take some time:

  • Your account may take several minutes to gather and convert all characters on first log in.
  • Not-yet-implemented: There will be a dialog letting you know your characters are being added to a Warband.

With The War Within, we’re removing the PvP category from the Great Vault. As a part of this change, we’ll be increasing the amount of Conquest you can earn each week and increasing the rate at which you earn it.
