Update on Delirium Server Status
Today's launch of Path of Exile: Delirium saw record player numbers - a peak of 237,160 simultaneous players so far in the first hour. While we're extremely pleased at the amazing turnout for launch, there are some server issues we'd like to talk about. We anticipated a large launch, and ordered considerably more servers than we usually do, but it looks like it's not enough, especially when coupled with an ongoing DDOS attack that has knocked some of these machines off the internet. More servers will be added to restore capacity, as soon as they are available to us. We have instituted a login queue so that the game experience of people who are logged in is less affected.Meanwhile, our regular gameplay programming team have been processing bug reports and client/instance crash dumps to make fixes for issues that players run into. They are currently bundling the first set of these into a 3.10.0b patch for restartless deployment soon. The g... The team have been and still are working hard to fix all high-priority issues.
@Eli Can you work with these guys to maybe merge any extra accounts they may have due to not being able to sign in. Thanks.
@IanHighlander
Interesting, I'm using an older i7 on my laptop right now and it's only taking up around 8% CPU for me. But sure, i'll add in a hotkey to turn it off.
@Gandigalf and @Dreken136
Can you check to see if it's working now, it should be. Thanks!
Thanks for letting me know, i'll looking into it.
I fixed this issue a few months ago. It was working just fine, i'll see if MS have changed things again.
You have some valid points, I'll speak to the team about it and see if we can change things up a bit.
Go to the Tribes section of the website in the main menu and look for tribes that are recruiting.
Thanks for spotting that, fixed.
Thank You
For many months, I nervously anticipated the moment where I would say "We're really proud to finally reveal Path of Exile 4.0.0" before playing the Path of Exile 2 trailer. As you can see in the recording of the keynote, I was barely holding it together as I said those words on Saturday. I purposefully remained on the side of the stage while the trailer played so I could see the audience reactions, and I can't describe the feelings I felt watching the audience experience Path of Exile 2 for the first time. Every small reveal, from the character selection hanging scene, to the caravan town, to the werewolf form and finally to the Path of Exile 2 name reveal caused the audience to gasp. By the time the trailer had finished, I was very close to tears, and it was difficult to hold it together long enough to carry on the presentation. Afterwards, people told me they cried in the audience. This was the proudest moment of my life.Path of Exile 2, Conquerors of the A... Read moreWe are looking into the overspawns.
Performance Hotfix Deployed
Last week we posted an update about our work on improving Path of Exile's recent client and serverside performance problems. While working on these areas, we identified a much larger problem and have deployed a hotfix for it today.Due to a subtle change made in 3.8.0, a bug was introduced where certain effects on the client would spawn more particles on long frames than short frames. This meant that when the game client slowed down for any reason, it would start to take exponentially longer for each subsequent frame. A fix for this has been deployed today.This particular issue causes small performance issues to turn into gigantic client freezes, which can be seen in popular reddit/forum posts since this bug was introduced with 3.8.0. Other work is still ongoing on fixing the small performance issues that were exacerbated by this.In addition, we have found several areas of server performance that we can immediately improve, which will prevent... Game performance and stability have been hot topics in the community recently, so we wanted to give an update about our understanding of the current status of several of the important issues, and to reassure you that we are working on them. For many of the issues, we haven't yet identified their causes, and we'll update with more information as soon as we have. We felt it was important to post this before the weekend so that you know that the concern has been heard.Blighted Map Instance Server Performance
When we talk about instance server performance, we're referring to the performance of the game server software that is running on one of our server machines. Normally we can fit dozens of instances per CPU core, and they take a fraction of a millisecond to process your actions for the frame. Under extreme gameplay circumstances though, the instance server can slow down due to the calculations taking a full CPU core more than 33ms (the serversid... Earlier today we released the Salvage Box, a mystery box that ramps up the value of its rewards if you destroy duplicate microtransactions. Community feedback about this feature was intensely negative. We have removed this box from sale. Salvage Boxes that have already been purchased will continue to function until consumed.So sorry to hear about this ?. I've passed it along to the team.
Looks like it's having issues with your Oculus Rift. I'd try disabling all the Oculus software/hardware and try again.
