Only 36 packs... If it's 12 weeks until the next set, then that would be equivalent with the current system. If it's at least 13 weeks until the next set, that's fewer packs than the 3-a-week would have resulted in.

edited: 3-packs a week = 156 total per year. Whereas assuming they continue with the mastery system for each set, at 36 packs per set, that's 144 pack per year.

edited part 2: If they vary the number of free packs to match weeks between sets then it could end up being equivalent with the current system. And given they keep tinkering with the reward systems, it could very well have changed by this time next year.

The number of packs available will shift with the duration of sets. It’s one of our goals to not reduce F2P earn with this system; we’ll adjust as needed to make sure we hit that.

What’s annoying is that it’s not an alt art, it’s a completely different card. You can only have one copy and cannot apply the style to your other copies.

Yeah, that bugs us too. Early versions of alt art had to be extra cards, not styles, because we didn’t have the tech yet. Now we’d kind of like to swap them over to styles, so everything’s consistent, but we run the risk of people getting upset about us changing things they have in their collection.

The ability to purchase them (wherever they show up) will be limited in time. We’ll leave them available for a bit so players can grab any that they missed, then pull them down so there’s some exclusivity to getting them.

Sorry for any confusion; that’s the same thing I’m saying: they’re going to be available in the store for a limited time, and after that we don’t have plans to bring them back.

Is there a June State of the Beta coming sometime? I thought it would be last week.

Next week; they’re always a few days before the release, which is on July 2nd for M20.

We don’t have any plans to bring them back. I’m not saying we never will, plans might change, but If you really like them I’d get them while they’re here now.

We call that the “Read More” ribbon, and it shows up when a card would have more than 2 of the badges in the corners. It’s basically an indicator that the card has more keywords/abilities than we can easily show at a glance, so make sure to read it.

As others have posted, disabling Auto-Tap in the options menu gives you the behavior you’re looking for here. I agree that this is too clunky, and we’re actively talking about ways to improve it.

So i was the person asking for better Command the dreadhorde UI. Here is what i meant.

[[Command the dreadhorde]] is pretty taxing card. We are operating in 2 different zones. We need to pay close attention to our life total as well as what we already has chosen. Meanwhile, Arena doesn't make it easy. Life total is covered. We don't know what we picked from other GY. We don't know how much damage we will take currenty (ofc player count in head, but mistakes happen). The spell also autoresolves once all possible targets are chosen without confirmation.

So here is what card should do if given attention. Show current life total. Show current cumulative CMC of chosen cards. Show already picked cards on the bottom of the screen like during casting [[Planewide Celebration]] with different outlines indicating owner. Demand confirmation if total damage would exceed current life total of the caster.

Wouldn't a rotating game mode queue (a la League's rotating game modes) be something that is of interest?

Definitely an interesting idea. There are lots of fun ways to play Magic, and we want that to be the case in Arena as well. As with many things, we’re going to experiment and see what works. Expect to see variations on this theme as we go forward.

I see, I didn't check to many turn but That might have work that way. Where can I learn how HG rope and timeout interact with each other. A bit complicated if I have to say.

You start with 0 timeouts. Ending your turn without hitting the rope 3 times earns you a timeout (little hourglass on the side). You can build them up gradually as long as you’re playing quickly. If the rope expires you’ll consume your timeouts for an additional 30s until you run out of them, then the game passes to your opponent for you. If you don’t act for about 2 min, the game concedes for you when your current turn ends.

There’s a lot of other fiddly bits to the timers, but those are the basics.

Thanks for the write up. To nuance one point that I may have fumbled in the video: on making Singleton or other event types permanent, we’re interested in offering more ways to play that stick around longer, but there are factors we need to weigh to do that properly. We’ll keep watching the key numbers here for opportunities to do more like that, we just need to be careful to keep the whole experience playing well for everyone.

I’m pretty obsessively reading the posts about London Mulligan. Can’t promise this will be fixed for the initial launch of London Mulligan with M20, but it’s definitely on our list.

You can get exactly the functionality you mention by setting a stop on the phase where you want to act (click phase icon) and hitting shift+enter. That will pass to anything the opponent does until you get to the phase you put a stop in.

Everything will download properly if you change your Windows region to English. You should be able to change it back after the download as well. This will be fixed in our next update, but for now this workaround has worked for everyone we’ve spoken with.

(This is about a bug that only happens for users with Turkish versions of Windows.)

Our Pauper is based off standard, where Lighting Strike has only appeared at uncommon.
