And basically no one played it
Everyone played it. It was played a ton. They just didn't KEEP playing it...

no we fkn dont, wtf rose tinted nostalgia glasses crap is this
he hated us and we hated him
he took away the ban phase out of SPITE then bailed to TFT
he very clearly never played the game mode at all, and had the worst trash takes on everything
we are still suffering the results of his garbage decisionmaking
Long time no see.
2v2v2v2 mode looks like a lot of fun. Augments were the best thing TFT added. Plus now we can say we got Mortdogged in league.
oh god
except this is an overall graph, it doesnt take MMR, meanwhile ARAM does have MMR... this is why its toxic af
In fairness, back when I did it I had two buckets, average and High Elo (Top 1%) and the goal was that they didn't move in EITHER bucket.
Going to do our damnedest. Looking to be a lot more proactive where we haven't been recently, I expect there'll also be some emergent stuff where reactive discussions are also needed too though (in addition, not instead)
What's your preference on format? I tend to favor text blogs or similar just personally (hate being on camera most of the time), but I realize a lot of people tend to prefer video content regardless.
Puppet shows?
My strats have been leaked!
I got to play Odyssey's three hardest difficulty missions with Mortdog himself 🥺 it was so fun
I'm happy you got to experience it :)
Just gonna hop in and say that twitch viewership IS NOT the best way to measure a game's overall player engagement.
There's a lot of games on Twitch with lower viewership that are THRIVING in terms of player engagement.
Nice try Rito
the community was great
Lmao the pink-colored nostalgia glasses. Queueing in this game mode was absolutely awful cause everyone was trying to do different challenges that required different augments and champions. Unless you had a full premade team you'd spend a lot of time in queue getting dodge after dodge or people afking if someone didn't pick what they needed for their challenge.
The gamemode was fun in the beginning, but after a couple days queueing up was just hell cause you'd find people who were irritated cause they still hadn't completed their challenges.
Surprise gamemode and skins with a cool cinematic was great, and you can look back at it remembering only the good parts, but it wasn't all fun and games, and the gamemode wasn't sustainable long-term, since most of the players were only interested in the rewards, and stopped playing as soon as they got them
This was my biggest failing of that event. The solo player experience was AWFUL. Yeah there were work arounds (find a group threads), but yeah...
It’s been 4 years already?? Wtf is time any more…
Odyssey is for sure in Top 5 things I’ve ever worked on, but holds the distinct title of the one no one can play 😓
According to one riot engineer, people like us are the reason why they can’t work on the backend of the loot system lol.
Truth
/u/riot_mort might be able to answer this one, I seem to recall him (or someone on the dev team) saying that you wouldn’t get the missions for this set until you played a game of TFT.
This is in for the core missions, but unfortunately the weekly missions got messed up :(
Hopefully we'll have that fixed soon.
Finally. Thank you. What if I played a TFT game 1 year ago? Will the missions still pop up?
No. The sets missions will require you to play 1 game that set.
We're fixing this for our next set in 11.2. The missions won't show up unless you play a game of TFT.
/quickly leaves before all the grumpy LoL players yell more
There are two nexus's in the Rift
I NEED YOUR BOWS FRIEND
Short answer: Yes
So I looked into this. Right now Zed is middle of the pack of the 4 cost 3 stars, and sitting with a 1.4 avg finish. For comparison, the BEST 3* 4 cost is Neeko with a 1.2 avg finish. Its not really unplayable.
One of the things that catch people off guard is that since so many 3* 4 costs deal SO MUCH damage, all of a sudden their BIS changes dramatically. Do you need IE if you spell already does 1200 damage? No, what you need is healing to go infinite. Its not intuitive, but it is what it is.
Sorry you had a rough game.
