Thanks for the heads up! We'll make sure this issue is fixed for v12.0

BlameTheAliens--

Honest question . What is your first weapon you have max perked before ?

Bald Eagle with Headshot Explosion was the first weapon I ever maxed. It was awesome in it's time.

Magyst: dusts off hands Well, my work is done for the day.

That's incredible. Very well done u/cruzzein!

Don't thank him for that, he never addressed the Meta change or Patch Notes!

Unfortunately I can't hit on every topic or concern that is brought up by everyone on here Reddit and I apologize.

There will be some additional meta changes in 12. We'll make sure they are highlighted in the Homebase Status report.

"Aside from the scaling adjustments; we’re going to be taking a look at some underperforming weapons and traps to see where we can make adjustments." This was mentioned back in the Design Chat from December.

Still completely ignoted the trap meta changes

There are some further adjustments coming in 12. The Design Chat from December mentioned that we were taking another look at under performing weapons and traps.

Thank you for the well written post, u/Virtual_Swayy and I appreciate the time put into this. I would like to address some of the things you've mentioned above.

Don't waste a single second of time "fixing"(nerfing) things players actually like, such as Frost Ice Queen's ability or blizzard blitzen's 6th perk, until this game is free of bugs that HARM PLAYERS. Literally zero players would rank these inconsequential nerfs as more important than server stability, inventory wipes, etc...

Adjusting a perk value (Design Team) vs server stability / wipes (engineers) are two completely different issues that are way out of scope from each other. A fix to a perk, depending on the issue, is something that can be done fairly quickly. Compare that to the inventory wipe, which took several days of code digging and work with our analytics team to determine impact, is something that didn't have a quick fix unfortunately. Once an issue is found we then have to determine if it can be resolved b...

Thanks for letting us know. I'll shoot this information (along with the other reports) and have the team further dig in to this. This isn't the first time we've seen issues with the healing perks so we'll see if any bugs have regressed.

Thanks!

Does this mean that the event shop is about to rotate?

Nope. The current items in the event store will remain. You still have plenty of time to pick them up. :)

Sad this is how we get an update from the dev teams.

This was in reference to the tiles being live. That was not intended.

We covered the release of these items in the Homebase Status Report.

These tiles should not be live at the moment. I'll take a look at this.

Apologies on the confusion. Both Wukong and Dragon's Fist will be available on Friday the 24th at 7pm.

You SAW a single report of a player.

Magyst, mate, you need to be more like see-bot and look on Reddit then!

I saw 3 reports shortly after 11.40 and it's not even my job!

Over the course that this issue was taking place.. we saw several reports. But it only took 1 report of inventory loss for us to start mass investigating how widespread the issue was from both reddit reports and non reddit reports.

Not all reports of inventory wipe were actually factual as we were checking every players account. After further digging, we only found a very small (.01%) that hit the issue causing the wipe.

Wait a minute...so I was unaware of the part about items farmed not being retained. I noticed that after farming rocks for rough ore and minerals, that the number of stacks that I thought that I was supposed to have, weren't there. I wasn't just tripping? I still have my inventory/storage, but could part of this bug be actually retaining what you have in the inventory and storage, but nothing new being accrued during farming? I just want to make sure I'm understanding all of these buggy issues...

" I noticed that after farming rocks for rough ore and minerals, that the number of stacks that I thought that I was supposed to have, weren't there"

Correct, this is a safety measure that prevented further loss of player inventory. This measure was only in place for a short time as we were deploying the server fixes. Items farmed weren't saved.. but neither were traps and ammo spent.

get matched with trappers

You’re scaring me Magyst. You make it sound like trapping is a bad, unintended way to play here.

Definitely not meaning anything negative here (I promise!). I was just referring to that specific play style.

Hey everyone,

We wanted to give an update on where we’re at with the inventory wipe issue.

What happened?

Shortly after 11.40 launched we saw a single report of a player reporting loss of backpack and storage inventory. At the time, this seemed likely related to the server performance issues that also surfaced with the release.

We focused efforts on increasing server resources and fixing an underlying memory bug to make sure that these server-wide issues were resolved. Additionally, we deployed a server patch with additional protection against the backpack and storage wipes, independent of the server performance fix.

The inability to build is a direct result of loss of backpack inventory and both are rare instances that impacted less than .01% of the player base.

The inability for impacted players to save changes to their backpack, meaning items farmed would not save to your inventory or items used would not be consumed, is a more subtle result of our emergency safety measures t...

We've seen the concerns around this specific topic, especially with the most recent discussion threads on combat score + rewards. We're making some further adjustments in 12 to help accommodate players who get matched with trappers. We definitely want to prevent players from leeching... but we also want to prevent players from intentionally edging out other players from getting rewards by trap spamming.

Is this related to the "Getting sent back to the tutorial mission" issue, or is this something else?

Yep! Directly related. There is an odd bug where severe instances of server lag can push players back to the tutorial. This doesn't impact game progress. You can leave the tutorial and it will place you back on the map / front end.

Hey everyone, just to give an update on where we're at:

We've released some server fixes that solves the more severe cases of de-syncing that's occurring. However, There are several cases that we're still investigating. Server metrics are showing improvements but we're still encountering some spikes and intense server load under some scenarios. The team is diving in and taking a look at what's causing the increased load and we hope to have an update for you all soon. Thank you!

angry_orange10

Could we get a confirmation post about how this is happening and if it gets fixed? I’d rather not risk losing all my materials.

So far the reports both internal and external aren't super widespread of inventory wipes. I've reached out to players reporting this and grabbing their account information for further investigation. Definitely seems related disconnects between client and server due to the current lag. However, the wipe isn't impacting every player.

We've released some server fixes that solves the more severe cases of de-syncing that's occurring. Inventory loss shouldn't occur since the fixes but we're still keeping our ear to the ground. By no means am I saying the lag is completely resolved completely.
