The idea with these is they don't impact gameplay, but add a flavour variable to the maps you run. dusk or rain shouldn't obscure your vision but just set a new tone for a map, or part of.
It does, I think they dropped it from VT2 to just shave down the title's length as it was a bit silly.
This is it yep, the name was getting preeetty long. We're still sadly* in the End Times.
*as in 'this ends badly' rather than a critique of AoS. I remain staunchly impartial on that. You'll never know.

Odds are slim in the near or mid term, but it might be something changed far in the future once we’ve seen how this release has gone. I wouldn’t expect it to change, but it may be future careers are handled differently. This is a new arena for us, we’ll adjust our future based on the upcoming present.
The BBB may run along side, but no word on if it would ship during Season 3 in the live game. In fact, we can’t confirm it happening 100%, just something we’re aiming for.
Read moreHey Hedge! Off topic for this thread, but do you have any idea if we'll see a double XP weekend again anytime soon? I've gotten some new friends into the game thanks to the COVID situation and that would really help players like them who are picking up the game for the first time during the lockdown.
I'll speak with the powers, maybe we can schedule one for Season 3 :)
Because the whole reason they introduced payed cosmetics was so they could create content like this for free right? Also locking content like this behind money in any game is bad, but in a game that is as stagnant and stale as vermintide is honestly just a poor move.
What we're trying to avoid is shipping paid content that splits players (see WOM). Choosing to use the Grail Knight doesn't restrict you from any lobbies or others from your lobby (unless they happen to be playing the Knight as well, as it works with Vanilla careers as well). These kinds of DLC will hopefully allow us to continue providing free content that would otherwise split the player base if paid for.
The current plan is for a BBB during S3. No concrete info on that yet.
Correct, at least at the time of print. We have talked about it, and done some surveying on the idea of careers for in-game coin as a side option to paying real money, but we got feedback it muddies the waters we wanted to avoid muddying - putting a Real World price on shillings.

Rain, snow, or maybe fog? All missions with outdoor settings now have a chance of changing weather and light. Venture into the great outdoors in Vermintide 2 and see Helmgart in a new light.
Lohner’s Emporium of Wonders will through Season 3 be updated frequently with Shilling Cosmetics and new Premium Cosmetics. The first shipment of Shilling Cosmetics will arrive at Season 3 launch, and the next is said to arrive early July together with new Premium Cosmetics.

Read moreThis is vermintide 1 right? looks like (from a very high level) the game is trying to launch on a very incompatible GPU (onboard most likely)
edit: Yep, your machine doesn't look like it has the guts to run Vermintide I'm afraid. The Intel(R) HD Graphics only supports DX10, whilst DX11 is a requirement. The CPU would also struggle with the game - the Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU B960 @ 2.20GHz just doesn't have the legs, sadly.

- OS: Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8/8.1 64-bit, Windows 10 64-bit*
- Processor: Intel Core2 Quad Q9500 @ 2.83GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 940
- Memory: 6 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770 /w 1GB VRAM
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 30 GB available space
- Additional Notes: *WARNING: 32-bit OS is NOT officially supported at this time
That's too bad. I will then try to contact the devs, if they could provide me the file. Thank you for your answer :)

Yeah, for some reason (programmer probably forgot) rapier's push attack doesn't have a programmed window where you can swap weapons, like pretty much every other attack does.
So either you have to wait 1.3 seconds (got the numbers from the game's code) for the whole action to finish, or you have to interrupt the action with something else, like a block or an attack (can be done after 0.35 seconds) or a pistol shot (0.4 seconds).
Alternately, we can hope that they add something like this to
light_attack_bopp
'sallowed_chain_actions
in the rapier's code, which would let you quickswap properly after the attack:{ sub_action = "default", start_time = 0.4, action = "action_wield", input = "action_wield" }
(Psst, /u/fatshark_hedge, your beard is luscious and your jawline chiseled. Could you pass this on to someone in programming, please?)
It is done
Up until very very very recently (moments before this years event on PC) we had to patch the game to change the keep, this needed to happen when the events started and when it ended. On console we just do not have the bandwidth to do that. Everything must be perfectly timed with the Games Workshop announcements and their event timings, which when you’ve less control over release schedules (as is the case with console patches) it’s been tricky.
The goal is to have these kinds of events and assets baked in to the game, and be able to switch them on and off from our side. This would increase the installation size so it’s not all upsides sadly, but it would allow us more flexibility with offering embargoed events on all platforms.
I believe Skulls on PC this year is our first test of being able to enable/disable events on a switch, rather than via a patch. It’s not a full implementation, but it’s a proof of concept. Once we get an idea of how it went when the event ends, it’s something we ...

Could you PM me your PSN ID?
What cheeses my opinions is why can't Fat Shark just ban them or something? Must be very easy to identify.
I understand that sentiment, honestly, and it has been echoed internally. However, standing AFK in the keep isn't strictly against any terms, rules or EULA. That's on us, I suppose, for not forseeing folks would do that when we wrote it. At the same time, the game should have protections and systems in place so players who encounter these poeple can just block them and move on with their lives / evening's entertainment. That is squarely on us, and we're working to address it.
This might also be of note as well, Im pretty sure cosmetics added post WoM aren't available from commendation chests. Only ones that were in the game prior. So, Krubers hatless cosmetic, for example, is only available via the emporium. I could be wrong, but I believe that is the case.
that is the case.
Congratulations! These entries are amazing, I'm still reading my way through them all!
You're all incredibly talented writers. Maddest props for the prose.
So Fatshark can’t police their own game in this instance due to an oversight in the EULA? Is it a difference between US and EU law? Pretty much every EULA I’ve ever read from US game developers include a clause that allows them to terminate accounts for pretty much any reason they want.
It's kind of a cheap scummy clause. Sure, it would have helped here, and a lesson for the future perhaps, but ultimately banning people for going AFK is a cheapshot. I believe these people to be showing us we should be doing better with the QOL features (and in fairness it is working).
Yeah, but this happened a year ago and you said the same thing then. So is anything ever actually getting implemented? Plus I've watched a video of one of these guys life leech sucking random players in the keep before the video got taken down, it's not just AFK hosts.
And this part
I believe these people to be showing us we should be doing better with the QOL features (and in fairness it is working)
Players have been asking for QOL features forever, but this is what's getting you guys to take it more seriously? And you won't punish it?
edit: edit: wasn't a ban but a suspension, sorry for being extremely petty
Hey spatnakc. We spoke via helpdesk, hopefully the situation is clearer now. We're not banning anyone, but we're timing out folks we can verify to be holding up the game for other players who just wanna kill rats.
