Welcome to Patch 2.0! Please find below the patch notes for this update, which are pretty long and beastly.
An FAQ will be available soon. But one question we want to answer now is:
Q: Why is the download so large?
A: With the release of 2.0 (the patch that accompanies Winds of Magic) we made the decision to remaster the game. Whilst this requires one hefty download upon updating to the latest version, it comes with it some benefits which include both faster load times when playing, as well as a smaller overall file size on your computer.

Now on to the notes.

The first expansion for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 brings a brand new enemy faction and new challenges to the game. As a meteor crashes down in the Reikland, the Beastmen rush to the epicenter to claim it as a Herdstone. It is up to the five heroes to stop them before a dreadful disaster strikes the Empire.

The preorder goes live at 7pm CEST, along with patch 2.0.
The progress from this beta will carry over to release.
The portrait frame isn't available for this beta, and is exclusive to the earlier beta phases.

Problem is the keep now is not the same as last year, so we don't have a Sonnstill version of the keep you have today. Our level artists are very busy grinding away on the Expansion so we had to prioritise that over the event this time around. Soz. Read more

It's not just you, but we've not found the correlation yet between players who experience this. Usually it's because of a 4k resolution and multimonitor set up combined, but not always.
Just a heads up, you now have to tab 9 times in the BETA launcher to reach the play button as we added a new button.
About the beta

The whole game has been remastered, so whilst you do have a lot of the content in your default game, it's not packaged the same way for the Beta, and as such, would be replaced and re-downloaded entirely if you copied it across.
TL:DR nope, it's a whole brand new download that cannot be skipped using the default game data.

Strange. The launcher sounds like it's opening "off screen" so to speak, which can happen with some 4k set ups, so that it happens on your set up is perplexing :3

When the launcher opens, but you cannot see it, make sure you have it selected in your task bar and hit tab 8 times, then hit enter.
This might work - testing the hypothesis on my PC seems to yield results. Are you running in 4K?

Fairly big when space is a concern, i had to uninstall the base game to have more room for it.
The process of updating the main game with a beta would have resulted in the same thing, but this way for people with lots of space, they can use the live game and the beta. Read more
