The Expansion Subscription is primarily to lower the bar to entry for new players, if you have all or most of the DLC, its very likely that the subscription will not be worth it for you.
New DLC will *not* be subscription only, and you can still purchase them on Steam (or other platforms) as you could previously. Read more

They can penetrate shields but they deal no bonus damage against armor and hull. If a portion of them are intercepted and enemy's ship designs are not highly focused on shields, then gunship cruisers can be more efficient.

Yes...if they spam a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of PD. In which case, you'll still probably win, everything else being equal, because they've spent a ton of weapon slots on PD.
There's a reason swarmer/whirlwind missiles are the meta weapon right now.
Aren't swarmer/whirlwind missiles immune to PD? At least, they used to be... Read more

People joining the game you host, have access to the dlc you own, if you have the sub, most likely mean they have access to it too.
This is correct, subscription DLC behave the same as normal DLC, and are shared in multiplayer as long as the subscribed player is the host. Read more
We haven't yet announced the release date for the 3.11 update.

If you are crashing on startup, players have reported that starting Steam, disabling the internet, then loading the game bypasses the issue. Internet can be reenabled afterwards.

Any updates on this? Sure, there are work-arounds, but we really shouldn't have to jump through hoops to play. CK3 doesn't have this issue, it seems odd that Stellaris would.

No firm updates at this time, but I believe that this issue has been addressed in the 3.10.3 release this week. Read more
Can you report this on the bug report forums so our Devs can take a look at it?
You can find the bug report forums here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/stellaris-bug-reports.941/
Thanks!
Going into further details would help me pass along info to our devs for a resolution. Some MacOS issues have been fixed, and we'd like to fix yours, too.
Hi there! I checked in with our Devs, and they'd like you to make a post on the Paradox forums, and attach the crash logs so they can investigate, please!
You can find the logs in Documents > Paradox Interactive > Stellaris > Crashes -- please zip the folder created with this crash and attach it to your report.

We've seen a lot of reports from MacOS users that the latest version works for them, but hopefully some of them can chime in here for additional anecdata. :)
Can you advise what OS you are using, please? And if you are running any mods?

The team is aware and is working on resolutions for the crashing issues on Mac. In the meantime, you can roll back to a previous version in order to play:
Click Stellaris, Properties, Betas tab and choose 3.9.3 from the dropdown.

Yep

Ugh, that's disappointing! I don't have any additional steps you can try, but I'll let our team know. Thanks for your patience!

Have you tried using the beta version of the launcher as I suggested?
Originally posted by TeamLoad: It doesn’t work, as I already said in the comments under the news about the release of the DLC, it’s not displayed for me only in the game, that is, in the launcher everything is displayed for me that was purchased and installed, as well as turned on.

I have personally worked to troubleshoot this issue, so I know what you're seeing, alas. Please Verify your game files in Steam (right click Stellaris in your library -> Properties - Installed Files -> Verify), then exit Steam, and run Steam as an administrator.
Verifying the files will re-sync with the latest version of the game, and should resolve the issue. If it does not, you can try running the Launcher's beta version (Under Launcher settings) and restarting the game. Read more
Originally posted by whereisscott: Yeah, there's no option to "run as admin" when you right click on programs with a Mac. It's just not there in the dropdown menu. From what I understand, if you're the only user on a Mac, you're automatically the Admin and programs automatically run at that permission level (but let me know if I'm getting this wrong).

Running a File as Administrator on Mac:
Locate the file you want to run as an administrator.
Hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and click on the file.
From the context menu, select "Open" while still holding down the "Control" key.
If prompted, enter your administrator credentials. Read more
Originally posted by whereisscott: I'm the only user on my Mac, so I'm already the Admin (sorry, didn't make it clear I was on a Mac). Confirmed in the Permission for Steam that this is being run with full read/write permissions.

I'm not sure if it's the same for Mac as on a Windows machine, but even though I'm the admin/only user on my machine, I still need to do the "run as admin" thing for certain actions (some unrelated to gaming). Can you try it and let me know? Read more
