Rimworld Dev Tracker

There are no plans to add achievements on PC. They were given to console versions because the consoles' stores required them - we couldn't sell RimWorld there without achievements or trophies.
Between mods, the ability to turn on dev mode / god mode at any time, and save file editing, achievements are completely pointless. You could probably 100% the game in half an hour, tops, if they were added.
Besides, RimWorld's meant to be an open-ended game that doesn't *force* you onto any path. You could play the same colony for generations, over a hundred years. You could do every ending in one run. You could make your fortune raising livestock or making art or farming organs or growing drugs.
If they were added, the game would have to be forced into mod-free inronman mode, completely disable dev mode, figure out a way to detect save editing, and so on. It would add restrictions and conditions and rules and nonsense.
Adding achievements would negate the freeform 'do what you want how you w... Read more
To be fair, the random encampments (raider outposts, farming / mining / hunting worksites, et cetera) were specifically added to give ideologies with the Raider meme something to target besides settlements. But it also counts for things like ancient complex looting, distress calls, and things like that.
Hey there! Would you mind disabling your mods and checking again? We're not able to reproduce this on our end, but it's definitely supposed to be symmetrical.
I have issued a 3 day ban to our guest with the long string of numbers for violating Rule 1.
Thanks for reporting, we will look into this.
Locking redundant thread, OP has acquired the game.
I'm unsure the point of this resurrection, locking thread.
RoadDog has been issued a 1 month ban for Rule 1: No personal attacks.
Just.... why?

That's fine. Jumping into every discussion screaming "HEY! I"{M a STREAMER I STREAAAAM THE BEST YO U NEED TO CCHEEEEECK OUT MY STREAM CAUSE THAT IS AWESEOMEEEEE! STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM!"
That...that is why rule 5 exists. Also, Ludeon forums is run by the people who MADE the game, it has 10x more traffic than around here, heh.
This is exactly correct, if you work your channel in to normal conversation, it's 100% fine. It's the 'please watch my channel' as your only contribution or as a starting post, that violates the rule.
@brian_va also has it correct.
The real problem with this is that if we allow one person to make promotion threads in general, everyone else will, and soon the discussion board will be flooded with people spamming over their channels drowning out people here to talk. Read more
I'm totally fine with rules being discussed, if the community comes to a consensus that a rule needs to be changed, I can bring it up with Tynan. I might put up a poll, but it seems most people here have mixed opinions or are against changing this. I want to point out that this applies to me as well, I can't just post my twitch link or anything to self promote.
I have issued a 3 day ban to Aturchomicz for a history of off topic (Rule 4) and a sustained derisive tone (Rule 2.)
I have banned Celestite for 1 month for Rule 4 (off topic) and Rule 2 (sustained hostile tone) due to posting habits.
Locking this thread before it gets too out of control. I do not enforce steam rules, only our community rules, but this topic is rife for rule 1 and 2 violations and would rather lock it then have a steam mod ban someone.
You are not able to rotate monuments, and per Tynan it is a deliberate design feature.
As grapplehoeker stated, Tynan has no interest in adding achievements as he feels it conflicts with the conceit of RimWorld and would force people to start playing in certain ways to achievement hunt. Even with the new quest systems, he deliberately made them all optional, you can ignore quests if that's how you want to play RimWorld.

If I recall correctly, it was posted someplace that he wants you to try to break the game with as many mods as possible... so probably not yet. The best way to handle this, is to tell people to provide a mod list order, and the save that broken. It is probably the fastest way to get a bug fixed for him.

The posts I was seeing there for a while were not productive posts, but it's died down anyway. Read more
Also check the new minimum specs of RimWorld, if you have a lower end graphics card it has changed with the Unity update.
Read Tynan's post pinned, he addresses this question specifically.
