Nice one.
/u/DanListonMusic is the musician, what do you think man?
I don't have a plan to do it. I haven't owned a licenced copy of Sibelius (or Finale, etc) in years so it'd be faster to just to it by hand and upload a picture.
My primary job is a piano teacher though and I'd always recommend transcription as one of the most essential exercises and aural skills are the most important skills regardless of instrument and genre, plus the melody's not that complicated.
The chords throughout the theme (though different iterations occasionally have substitutions) are typically as follows:
| i7 | (i7) | III | i7 |
| VI#7 | iv7 | i IV | VI#7 V7#9 |
It's often in B minor so, for example, that'd be:
Bm7, (Bm7 again), Dmaj7, Bm7,
Gmaj7, Em7, Bm -> E, Gmaj7 -> F#7(aug9), Bm
I'm sure I've done it a couple of different ways before, ie using a bII and ii(dim) (C and C#dim) in place of VI#7 in the 8th bar but there's a few versions of it.
Throw in more extensions or a busier accompaniment...
No I agree with all of that but there's no wiggle room at all, nobody straight up lowers their weapon because their barrel is about to brush a wall, especially if you're in a combat situation. The way it's done in Insurgency Sandstorm is perfect imo, you can pull back your weapon a little bit before you fully disengage, and it's still determinate on weapon length.
Our weapon does have a gradual push-back, but it's entirely dependent on the weapon and its attachments.
Steam key.
How are they gonna know who's talking about it? Like if I say the music is lame are they gonna know how to deactivate my key?
The music demos are complete for the Alpha level out atm, it just needs to be coded into the game which'll hopefully be soon (-busy time for a small staff!)
If you're critical of the music, straight up shoot me a pm telling me what you're not keen on and I'll gladly take it on board!
Question: How would you stimulate the use of cheaper and less performing weapons? like in SWAT 4 no one used the revolver, M1911 and shotguns since they were the worst weapons in the game, so people stick with Glock+MP5/M4 as the meta, if the point system does not apply to other gears then why would I get a weapon that is not in the meta(AKA less perform) for less points and still keep my utility like grenades?
So, this kind of stuff in particular is open to changes and I suspect we'll be doing a lot of fine tuning, experimentation and stuff like that as we get closer to release to present a balanced game to people, but one of the ideas we've considered is that some weapons may cost a fixed number of accessory points just by existing in your loadout. The taser for instance doesn't accept any attachments, but it's such a powerful piece of equipment that it really should have some kind of downside for having in your kit. Or maybe it costs accessory points for the individual taser cartridges.
By having a functional game, and (here soon) having the alpha testers dig into it, we're in a pretty sweet period where now we have the stuff we had on paper and can see how it plays out.
Read moreFirst, it should be clarified that we're definitely going for an old school Rainbow Six and SWAT type of game, and if there's "running around running and gunning like you're at a track meet" then there's something about the gameplay that needs to be addressed to go in-line with our vision for the game.
The current "accessories point" system as described in the FAQ only applies to weapon accessories and doesn't affect any other gear. There are downsides to using attachments so it's possible that you may not want to use all that you have available.
This is not to be confused with the preplanning system which uses an unrelated set of points/money to purchase personnel, deployables and entrances for your team to use.
Read moreAny idea when the dev blog may come?
Any announcements on that will be done through official avenues (Twitter, etc)
I have to say I love what I’ve seen here and I want to preorder to help the team. I’m so happy to have that stigma cleared up because honestly when I saw this game my inner child went nuts. Where’s the best place to purchase the game?
Directly from our website.
We aren't "behind" and definitely haven't "bitten off more than we can chew" ;) The development is on track and we're on target for the August alpha. A few members of the team (myself included) stated that we planned for a devblog in June, but due to scheduling conflicts we needed to postpone it until a later time.
Damn, what’ll the fourth dimension look like?
Well, the fourth dimension is time. But the fifth dimension on the other hand...
It appears that we are crossing into a new dimension...
The alpha is still slated for August, as per Twitter.
so has Brendon
EDIT: nvm
sounds good, will there be an option for getting ammo off an AI teammate if you're playing solo? e.g. some fps game i played a long time ago would let you take a mag off your AI teammate by simply going up to them and pressing F.
Not at the moment. We might introduce share commands.
By double-tapping the reload key, you "quick reload" and drop the current magazine in your weapon.
As long as your ally and you are using compatible magazines, they can pick up your dropped ammo. (same applies in PvP modes, enemies can pick up dropped magazines as well)
Alpha in August hopefully haha. I’m not obsessed haha. Haven’t been thinking about the game nonstop haha. I don’t have a problem haha.
You bet your ass when Devblog 4 comes out I’m gonna look at it every day for the next 2 months but I’m not obsessed haha. Haha.
Haha.
Fuck I’m so bored I need this game.
haha
