I would love to earn eternals in this mode. Makes me feel punished for wanting a quicker game mode!

We intend to support eternals, hopefully in the first patch but there's a chance it'd slip a bit, working through some technical setup stuff.

EDIT: We think we found the issue and expect to be testing a fix in the next day or two.

are there any plans to buff stacking champions (smolder, veigar, nasus, etc)? I tried some of them out and they seem quite a bit weaker. just a simple increase to the amount of stacks each last hit gives them maybe?

We plan to balance individual champions once we have good data, yes. Champion, Item, and Rune changes up to this point have mainly been for things that don't make sense from a game flow perspective - Dragon Soul coming up before Kayn transforms, lane phase ending before Magical Footwear pays off, that sort of thing.

Do we really need support items to be much more expensive? Kinda sucks that for once there would be an actual chance of supports closing their build more often than not and Riot just said "No, can't have that, we need to find a way to make it suck here too".

They should be both more expensive and give more stats. We expect that supports will be noticeably more powerful relative to the other 4 players on their team in this mode than in classic SR. If that's not the case, it probably means we missed on item efficiency and should buff something.

Before we made this change, we were seeing supports hit full build at like minute 15, which both felt quite bad and meant that Enchanters wouldn't even be viable with these rules - you'd pick supports who could buy non-support items and continue to scale instead.

Other thing...I always get D- after a game no matter what and Challenges aren't showing up.

Yep we have a fix for that one coming soon. Nice catch

The gold numbers are weird in the scoreboard

Yeah should be fixed in the next few days. Appreciate it

Not a single person in my friend group enjoys the lack of champion select.

The description they have "play with friends with (riot forgot a word) different skill levels without the fear of falling too far behind" describes exactly what we were looking for. No part of that requires choosing runes before knowing matchups.

We should be the perfect group that this mode is made for. We play casually for fun without caring too much about winning, and some players are much lower skilled than others. Even the lowest ranked player wants to know their matchup before picking runes and summoners.

Quickplay failed because all it really was was a change to lobby / champion select that didn't actually improve quality of games, just got you in faster. Swiftplay already has sped up gameplay. We don't need to be skipping champion select so that we can get into a worse game a few minutes faster.

Appreciate the report about the missing word, will look into it

Swiftplay is now available to play on PBE. Swiftplay is a faster-paced game mode that includes changes to the standard ruleset for a faster pace of play. Check it out!

Bug Reports and feedback is greatly appreciated for everyone trying out this mode, let us know here!

am i reading this wrong or did they nerf the shit out of Viktor's W?

I'm working on getting this line updated, but it's actually supposed to be:
1.1-2.5 (varies, random) -> 1.25

so it's actually an adjustment/slight buff

The Multiplayer Practice Tool is available to play now on PBE.

Any and all feedback and bug reports are appreciated, tell us here! Now get out there and try everything out!

lol

I liked it!

As far as grubs count for the first 3 epic monsters slain, you need all 3 grubs for one stack, so one grub gives 0 stacks, even 2 grubs from first spawn and one grub from second spawn would give 0 stacks, but 3 grubs from one spawn is a stack+2 dragons for example would be enough for the feat

First blood and first turret no longer give bonus gold, first blood is 300g, first turret is 250g, all it does now is count for the feats

The stats on the free boot upgrades are meant to be 150g worth of stats, he considers them worse than the current bonus gold for FB and first turret

The support item counts as a legendary for the tier 3s(you need 2 legendaries to upgrade to tier 3s), so if you’re pyke and you have bloodsong and umbral, you can buy the T3 upgrade

The tier 3 upgrades are meant to be more efficient than components but less efficient than legendaries, so if you have 3k gold you should buy cosmic drive or black cleaver, but if you have 850 gold, you should buy tier 3s over blasting wand or double LS

The idea behind the boots is to reward good performance with more options(should I buy shoe upgrades or components) as opposed to raw power, such that dragon or baron gives you

The whole system is experimental and open to change, is open to changing the impact of first blood as a feat or allowing the losing team access to the shoes depending on how it works out, for example making it Bo5 by adding 2 more feats

One of the goals of the feats system is to reduce the impact of gold, similar to lowering the power of legendaries which they did a few months ago, by shifting the value of FB and first turret away from bonus gold, this is meant is to reduce snowballing, so you no longer get an immediate power spike upon first blood or first turret, considers 100 gold in the first few minutes of the game to be worth ton

Another goal is to provide guidance for low MMR players on what to do in the first 14 mins of the game, just telling them go help your team get drakes, go take towers and protect towers

NOW YAPS ABOUT EACH OF THE SHOES

the beserkers upgrades have decaying MS because you attack a lot

The Ionians are made for every class, talon and sona should both be happy

The pen boots actually give less than 750g worth of stats according to the math but play testers are super psyched about them “OMG SO OP”

The mercs and armor boot tier 3s will probably be nerfed(again) before hitting live, they are bad against poke because the shield procs AFTER taking damage, so if you eat a xerath Q the shield will do nothing for you, if you auto, your on hits will go through before they get the shield

Total MS% multiply your other MS steroids so swifties and synchro having total MS% is pretty powerful

NOW YAPS ABOUT EARLIER ITERATIONS

There used to be individual feats that gave individual rewards(go legendary, get a penta, get an assist streak) and team feats that gave team rewards which is what made it into the game, one of the individual rewards wo d give you a pet mini Darius who would follow you around a attack people with you

There was a cs feat(first to X cs) but led to some toxic scenarios(say it’s first to 100, you’re mid with 85 cs and enemy mid had 90, there’s now incentive to go steal stacked waves from top or bot)

used to be a system with 9 total feats that would randomly roll 3 every game

That is all

Thanks! This is a very nice summary.

FireDevil11

The pen boots actually give less than 750g worth of stats according to the math but play testers are super psyched about them “OMG SO OP”.

Sorc shoes give 12 mpen, upgraded for 750 gold they give +7mpen and +10%Mpen.

46.15 * 10+7 * 46.67=788g worth of stats.

Unless they plan on buffing regular sorc shoes too

You already get +4mpen for the triumphant boots, so the 750g is only giving +3mpen, +10%, and +5ms

As in making reaction videos or something similar that include those images where you talk about stuff on the official accounts?

Go for it if so!

I wonder how long ago this has been in the works.

A good bit. These things take time.

There are other efforts happening in parallel to identify address gameplay behaviors we think are disruptive to folks.

heronic_bird

Honor was always meant to be a "good behavior score" and not an activity tracker. That's the biggest weakness of the current Honor system. That's also the biggest thing we're going to change with this update. Your new Honor level is going to be based on a constant evaluative score that looks at your interactions with teammates, honor votes, active penalties, and a lot more behind the scenes from your most recent games. Once changes are live, playing more won't help you get to Honor 5, unless you're exhibiting the right behavior

Good Bird.

ladled_manure

Well that will be interesting at the start of the season, with most being reset back to Honor Level 2...

Honor will not work the same way as today. I am not directly working with that team anymore, but I am familiar with their designs. The new system will not punish returning players and will not reset people into a punished state.

For details, I will let the team discuss on their timetable :)

Now that I think about it. Can riot buff Sion without fearing Baus? Is Sion Baus-jailed similar to other champs being pro-jailed?

We do not fear Baus directly but his playstyle and builds do tend to spread pretty fast. If they are degenerate play patterns (i.e. old inting Sion which I think is what prompted the structure damage nerf) that can cause it to be on our radar.

Prestigious-Wall-183

Please pull the graves nerfs. Not because they arent justified or good for the game, but because i personally want graves to be OP forever.

I respect the honesty
