• The party size of enemies will no longer be shown during the match loading screen
• Removed all party-size restrictions during the matchmaking process

Developer Comment: These changes should help address both queue times for certain party sizes while also removing the pre-game bias that forms when facing parties of players that may be larger than your own. In order to ensure fair matches are created, one of the variables used to determine whether a match has an acceptable win probability is the party size. In the event the party sizes across both teams aren’t equal ([5]vs[1-1-1-1-1] for example), other variables will be weighted differently to make sure the match created is balanced. One example of this is that a team of [5] may have a lower MMR vs a team of [1-1-1-1-1] to help balance out the advantage.

• The cap on maximum negative Armor has been increased from -25 to -75, now that different Armor effects no longer stack.

  Developer Comment: The negative Armor cap was originally instituted as a safety precaution so that stacking long term negative Armor effects wouldn’t lead to degenerate gameplay. We don’t anticipate many effects to go beyond -25, but there are a few cases where this can happen (including the new Unraveling Talent on Chromie and Sgt. Hammer’s Shrapnel Mines).

As the roster and breadth of mechanics for Heroes of the Storm has continued to expand, the existing roles have grown limited in accurately describing each individual hero. To give both new and existing players a clearer idea of what kind of kit to expect during hero select, we are expanding Hero Roles to include new descriptions and replace those that were less clear in the past.

The New Roles

The new Hero Roles are Tank, Bruiser, Support, Healer, Melee Assassin, and Ranged Assassin.

	Tank heroes are formidable juggernauts that protect their team by absorbing attacks from the enemy and blocking their retreat.
	Bruiser heroes are tough fighters that can also dish out damage.
	Support heroes provide boosts and other benefits to their teammates.
	Healer heroes focus primarily on direct healing and damage mitigation.

• AI: A.I. Heroes will no longer immediate run to Mercenary Camps after they spawn.
• Fixed a rare issue that could cause the client to crash.

 Battlegrounds

• Boss Mercenaries: Fixed an issue allowing Boss mercenaries to be slowed.

The Nexus Forces have taken over a Volskaya Industries Factory - fight to the death to obtain its manufactured power! Two teams enter, one team leaves.

Rules:

• Battle it out on a single-lane Overwatch-themed Battleground known only as… the Trial Grounds.
• Shuffle Pick
  • Choose from one of three Heroes at the beginning of the match. Choose carefully though, you won’t have the opportunity to choose again after rounds.
• Elimination
  • A round is won when all Heroes on the enemy team are slain.
• Best of Three
  • The first team to win two rounds will win the Brawl!

Battle against the enemy team on this single-lane Battleground featuring a familiar design straight out of the High Heavens, Mercenary Camps ready to be swayed to your team’s favor, and tons of action. Queue up, choose your hero, and try your best to send the enemy team to the Burning Hells!

Rules:

• Shuffle pick - Choose from one of three Heroes before entering the battle.
• Standard play - no talent or level restrictions.
• The first team to destroy the enemy Core wins!

Rewards:

There are many ways to celebrate the Lunar Festival. Food, gifts, ceremonies… and strapping saddles onto dangerously fast fireworks!

Rules:

• Rocket Riding
  • Heroes will automatically move toward their mouse cursor’s location. You just need to steer!
  • Speed boost pads can be found around the track. Steer over these to make a break for first!
• Envelope Pickups
  • Blast through the Red Envelopes placed around the track to gain one of three abilities:

Rocket

A bouncing rocket that will explode on the first enemy it contacts.

Bomb

Drop a bomb behind you that will stun players upon impact.

Lunar Blessing

Gain Invulnerability and a burst of speed.

This week’s Heroes Brawl is Braxis Outpost! A single-lane battleground set in the Koprulu Sector, it will be up to your team to survive in the lane and take down the enemy core, without the aid of Hearthstone or their Hall of Storms. Good luck, have fun!

Rules:

• Shuffle Pick
  • Choose from one of three randomly selected Heroes before entering the battle on Braxis Outpost. Be quick about it though, you only have 30 seconds to choose!
• ARAM Rules
  • Players cannot use Hearthstone

This week's Heroes Brawl mode is Garden Arena: a best-of-three Arena match featuring the Garden Terror and its Shamblers. Gather seeds and overrun the enemies’ core with the power of nature!

Rules:

• Choose from one of three randomly selected Heroes before entering the Arena. Be quick about it though, you only have 30 seconds to choose!
• Everyone will begin the round at level 10 and will be asked to choose a Heroic Ability. No other talents will be available.
• During each round, slay the enemy team’s Heroes and capture Seeds from the Garden Terror and its Shamblers.
  • The first team to gather 100 Seeds wins the round!
• The first team to win two rounds will claim victory!

Rewards:
