Collecting capsuleers,

For the last three years, EVE players have been able to own a small piece of New Eden in the form of beautiful 3D-printed EVE Online ship models thanks to our partnership with Integral Reality Labs. At the end of the year, however, these models will no longer be available.

If you've been planning to get your hands on these models for your EVE shrine or you need a Christmas gift for that special someone you met on Divinity Social, then you should get in before 31 December!

Triumphant capsuleers,

Across the cluster, loyal capsuleers have risen up and supported their empires in the race to obtain and leverage exciting new technology. These goals were achieved through capsuleers taking part in Factional Warfare, exploration (hacking), and mining activities within the hottest warzones. Mounting tensions due to these conflicts have led to seismic events in New Eden, such as the devastation in the Minmatar system of Turnur caused by the Amarr stellar transmuter, as well as the Gallente invasion of Intaki, and the Caldari seizing multiple systems in the Syndicate region.

The Empire Frontiers events seeded much of the growing tension that has resulted in the above consequences. With these events now at an end, what are the results of the Amarr vs Minmatar race for stellar transmuter technology, and the Caldari-Gallente stargate construction in Athounon?

Amarr Empire vs Minmatar Republic

Aggressive advances by the Amarr Empire in Turnur, Egmar, and Vard meant tha...

Station dwelling capsuleers,

On behalf of Scotty the Docking Manager, we’re here to give you a behind the scenes look at our recently updated Upwell Hangars that came with the Uprising Expansion in November. Over the years, New Eden has become more visually vibrant and offered players an increasingly visceral experience. The most recent update brings even more immersion and interactivity with the brand new Upwell Hangars. This all comes as part of the EVE Evolved initiative, which continues the ongoing investment in building stronger foundations to support EVE’s future.

Evolving A Hangar

As part of a renovation project to upgrade New Eden’s iconic trade hub, the Jita Hangar saw glorious updates in 2021. A new station environment was also created for the new player tutorial while the NPE (new player experience) was being updated, welcoming new players even more warmly to New Eden. Both hangar updates were one-off creations, but they demonstrated a world of possibility when it comes to i...

Industrious capsuleers,

Ever since the Uprising expansion went live on 8 November, there’s been a lot happening and a lot to do in New Eden. Factional Warfare activity has significantly increased, the arrival of new capsuleer communities in New Eden has been celebrated, new settings for EVE’s trusty overview have entered testing, Black Friday offers have gone live, and you can participate and benefit from absolutely all of that and more this weekend!

FACTIONAL WAR ROOM

Following the release of Uprising, Factional Warfare (FW) has heated up with over 5,300 new pilots enrolling in faction militia groups to participate! As a result of increased FW activity, the map of New Eden has changed – and continues to change – based on player activity. Whether Alpha or Omega, recruitment drives have been active across the cluster, with players of all experience levels being employed across a variety of activities.

With the updated ship restrictions on the various capture sites, all sides are testing...

Why Photon?

Photon is a massive undertaking to overhaul the EVE User Interface. The current UI is functional, so many players have asked why we chose to embark on a large project like this.

During its twenty year development, EVE has seen many features, all with specific user interface needs. Some of these features have pushed the UI into new territory, exploring new ways to improve the interface, but not always with an established design language in mind. This has made parts of the UI less than cohesive, even confusing, and difficult to master. In addition, maintaining many UI styles is ineffective, leading to increased development time.

Last year saw the formation of a dedicated User Experience team, whose primary responsibility would be the in-space experience of EVE Online. As EVE’s user interface allows access to nearly every feature while in space, there was a lot to consider. Efficiency and sustainability need to be considered, not only from a development and technology point o...

Intrepid capsuleers,

As the holiday season approaches, we’d like to take the time to properly celebrate EVE Online’s Spanish release and New Eden’s invaluable Spanish community, bringing you festivities & streams including chats with community members, a fireworks party in Jita, a massive NPSI fleet focused on Spanish-speaking players, and more!

Since the soft launch of EVE’s Spanish localization earlier this year, speakers of the second largest language worldwide have at long last been able to venture out into the stars and experience New Eden more vividly and directly than ever before. With the assistance of a team of professional gaming linguists and a Spanish-speaking player council, we are continually working to polish translations, improve communication of gameplay elements, integrate your feedback, and incorporate the vocabulary New Eden’s Spanish capsuleers have developed over the years into the game.

We also have a few words to share with you today from CCP Burger, EVE Online’...

Greetings, Capsuleers!

As you might remember, in summer we released a Team Security update where we talked about RMTers, botters, fraud, and other related topics, followed by a Q&A session in the official EVE discord. We are tremendously grateful for all your attention, questions, reports, and your engagement with us. The questions were tough sometimes, but hopefully we managed to provide some answers.

Summer and autumn have been rather busy for Team Security, as there are always more bots, RMTers, and account hackings to tackle. Your help in identifying these is, as always, tremendously important.

In this entry we'd like to talk about some rules and policies, to clarify and to discuss the End User License Agreement (EULA) and hopefully make it more clear. There are many rumors within the community – and we thought it’d be nice to clear up the more contentious ones. After all, the EULA is so complex that sometimes even we forget where to look for a certain passage – so without further ...

Social capsuleers,

EVE’s ‘Recruit a Friend’ program has long been a great way to invite your friends to play EVE together, but often you make new friends in space - so why miss out on recruitment rewards?

Following popular demand from corporations and alliances, it has now been made possible to recruit an existing account and still be eligible for rewards defined by the Recruitment Program rules. And you can be sure the rewards are well worth the effort of getting your friends involved in EVE!

How does it work?

There are rewards for the recruiter, and the recruit. Recruits will receive 1,000,000 SP immediately after being recruited, saving them around three weeks of skill training. If the recruit subscribes to Omega following their recruitment, the recruiter will then receive 15 days of free Omega — plenty of time to join each other in fleets and have fun in space! What's more, if the recruit purchases PLEX, the recruiter then gets four master-at-arms cerebral accelerators, which incre...

Alliance Tournament XVIII

The first weekend of the Alliance Tournament was an explosive success with match after match showcasing some amazing EVE PvP. Unlike the Trials which took place on the Thunderdome tournament server, the AT finals happen on Tranquility and all ships and modules are paid for by players. The first weekend saw 386 ships worth nearly 260 billion ISK destroyed. 💥

There were some surprises with strong teams like Hidden Leaf Village, Bright Side of Death and Pandemic Legion being sent home as well as Brave Collective’s startling wins over Fancypants Alliance and Big Yikes to keep them in the winners bracket.

Intrepid capsuleers!

The overview window is the most important tool at your disposal in EVE Online. It's used for orientation, traveling, fighting, resource gathering... everything you do in space. Customizing the overview to suit a capsuleer’s needs is important but can be daunting for new players. We are therefore changing the default overview for new players to make it more useful and to make the transition to using custom overview packs easier. This will be achieved by making new capsuleers familiar with the more advanced use of the overview features employed by corporations and alliances they might end up joining.

The new default overview is available now on the Singularity test server. We invite you to share your feedback on the EVE Forums.

The default overview currently provided satisfies the basic needs of new players, but the real power of the overview lies in the ability to customize it and to import settings shared by other, more experienced players. Creating good custom set...
