We use Claim Papers for backing and spawn in a basic bank in on day one that we replace with legit materials later on, the old cheated materials then get deleted. We do not distribute any starter money, as everyone has claim papers and is able to give some of them for starter money, as the bank buys and sells them for a fixed value and they cant be sold at any other place then the bank. It works very good.
It's not any changes, but any changes that make the world bigger, as the singleplayer uses the 32-Bit server and any size bigger than default size will exceed the RAM limit for it and therefore crash. As we do not recommend and support changing config files that cannot be altered on world generation for singleplayer, i kept it short. If you want to change stuff manually, please start the server manually via EcoServer.exe (which is the 64-Bit one).
Winner of the Screenshot Contest for February is Malenkie from the ECO LIFE Server with "Road Junction". Congratulations! http://pbs.twimg.com/media/ESzRPR9U0AAWrx7.jpg
@jredmon89 Hey, it depends on how the playtest is going, we're aiming for early Q2 at the moment, but i can't promise anything.
The livestream we announced yesterday for monday about Ecopedia and Elections is moved to today 8am PST / 17:00 CET (in about 3 hours) to give everyone a chance to watch it on the weekend.
Drop by and feel free to ask your questions at https://www.twitch.tv/strangeloopgames
No, the range cannot be extended without modding. It's intended to place them near the tables that want access to them.
@PraeGaming We thought about that, but there is nothing planned for the near future.
Our third developer blog is about the new Ecopedia that aims to help you understand all the mechanics of Eco directly from in the game. Read it up on steam and stay tuned for our livestream about Ecopedia and Elected Titles on Monday.

You actually don't need to buy Windows 10. A Windows 7 Key is still upgradable for free, search around in Google a bit :)
@kit10US Typically laws can't destroy the planet? What did you try?
Right, it will work but you will not have access to new biome. And your laws will be all deleted.
A new save is highly recommended.
This.
We never supported Windows 7 on Steam and its EoL, we cannot guarantee for it to be working anymore, especially as Unity tends to implement breaking stuff for older OS that they only fix very slowly. Upgrading is recommended in any case, as we only officially support Windows 10.
There is no way to fix this ourselves as this issue is not caused by us. I'm glad the instructions helped you two, though :)
Well, we have to disagree on the point of what should be there. Eco is meant to resemble real struggles and while we, as every game, take some creative freedom in approaches for example for the laser, we want to stay realistic and keep to the design goals of eco. Tailings being a nusiance is intended. They are in reallife. 10 stockpiles is nothing. On the big collaborative servers you have hundreds of them. There won't be a way to simply remove stuff or neutralize it if you can't do it in real life. We will offer ways for them to be processed and reused PARTLY in materials according to current research, but there ever will be stuff you simply have to store safely (or not and live with the consequences). Logistics and usage of space are important factors in Eco.There won't be ways in Eco to simply get rid of polluting stuff despite cheating and there will also not be an option to disable it, because it would forefeit the whole point of Eco. You are of course free to mod the game h...
