Cities: Skylines Dev Tracker

If you can live with the fact that their functions are the same, you can use district themes and the mod Building Themes to control what buildings spawn where. You can set up your own themes in game, using either the default buildings or workshop buildings. It's probably the easiest way to have a transition with the limitations of the game.

This thread is over a year old. We have had a major DLC since then and mods have updated. It's probably best to start a new thread instead, since the issue is unlikely to be related. Too much has changed. :) Read more

So it depends what you mean by "your own video".
- If you're streaming CSL itself, and the music is playing as part of the game, the UI in the game has implied to me that they consider that fine for everything but Gold FM.
- If you're making some other video and use the CSL music, they'd be completely justified in DMCA takedown-ing it. It's probably not licensed for that.
If you're doing the latter, then perhaps start from https://creativecommons.org/about/program-areas/arts-culture/arts-culture-resources/legalmusicforvideos/ or otherwise search for royalty-free music.

This is correct. As long as we're talking a stream/video of the gameplay, you can have the music from the game, with the exception of any listed in Options, Audio (I think it's just Gold FM, but I don't have any of the paid radio stations, so always check just to be sure). :) Read more
Depends on the radio station. If you open Options and go to Audio, you can see which radio stations are copyrighted and not available for streaming/videos.
You will pretty much have to rebalance your city. The number of people living in your city, the number of jobs, the amount of goods they use and the amount of trash they produce are all things that the mod affects, and so those numbers have shifted. Most likely your population and jobs doesn't line up anymore, and your city's garbage facilities might not be able to handle the unmodded garbage production.
While you can remove the mod from a city, it generally isn't recommended as it causes a mess like this. But if you are alright with having to rebalance everything, then it is possible. It just takes some time and figuring out your city's new needs. And hopefully your city has enough money to handle the transition. :) Read more

I mean, zero flow water maps, even when working as coastline, should be treated by game as big stillwater reserves. Or Im getting this wrong?

Maybe a little around the pump, but the game as a setting for the sea level, which won't be affected.
Building Anarchy is adding the extra info to the tooltip, though it isn't supposed to be there several times. You could remove Building Anarchy, but then ofc you would lose the options the mod gives you.
Alternately you can use Transparent Selectors to make the tooltip transparent.

To where will they pump that water to? please explain how this works for if nothing is connect to them they wont pump.

They pump it nowhere, it just sorta disappears. :P If you feel that's a little too unrealistic, you can add a clean sewage outlet to them. Then they will suck up dirty water, clean it and spit out almost clean water, which will then get sucked in and cleaned again.
If you have Green Cities, you can also use the floating garbage collectors to clean up the water. It takes some time and you might need to move them around a bit to get it all, but it's another option. Read more
Sounds like moving the game messed with the launcher, and deleting the files probably forced another install of it, which works.
Good to hear it's working for you again though, no matter what the issue was. :)
It could be, but I would be surprised if it worked last week and is now acting up. Nothing should have changed for the installation of the launcher in that time.
If you have installed Citrix Workspace since the game last worked, that would explain it (more on that here[forum.paradoxplaza.com]). If not, then we will need your output log (player.log on Mac and Linux) to see what's happening. This guide explains where to find it and suggests some sites to upload the file to, since we can't attach files here on Steam.

The error is coming from Surface Painter. After loading your save, open Options, find Surface Painter on the left, then click the "Update while map" button and wait for it to do its thing. Then save your city as a new file, restart the game and load that new save to see if the issue is fixed.

Thank you!! I checked and my pagefile was disabled !! I'm going to allocate a good virtual ram space now, and I'm going to see if the game works!!

I recommend setting it to 32 GB Read more
Road Maintenance does indeed come with Snowfall, so if you do not have the Snowfall DLC, you won't have access to it. :)
If you haven't spend any money on that account, it could be a limited user account. That would explain the restriction.

That's good to hear. :) Can you upload a new log, so I can see the specifics of the error that's left? Hopefully we can get that one sorted too. :)
Originally posted by koyangi: I tried Safe Mode but nothing changed. Still 7 times to push "OK". Isnt Save Our Saves if you cant load your savegame?

It can help your save recover from simulation errors, which you have in the log you posted. So worth a try. If it doesn't help, you can remove it again.
Make sure you have accepted the Steam Subscriber Agreement. You can find it by going to the workshop front page, then click the link to your workshop (on the right), then it is on the right under your name.
Originally posted by Dimoxinil: Thanks for the question OP, I'm confused about these mods as well.
@Avanya, best answer to my questions so far. A little clarification though:
I understand these are the differences between RICO and PTG:
- RICO allows for custom settings of each building
- RICO allows for large buildings to act like growables
This is common to both:
- allows to plop any residential/industry/commercial/office building anywhere and it will not despawn nor change appearance but will level up
So basically I would want RICO only if I want to customize my buildings (# of workspaces, capacity, etc.). Is this correct?
thanks

Yup, or if you want larger buildings to work like growables as well.
Originally posted by algernon: @antzkillr I can answer that one.
With RICO revisited, if you UN-check the "growable" box, that will indeed prevent a Growable-made-Ploppable-RICO from growing spontaneously.

Oooh I have totally missed that update. Very nice! :D Thank you for clearing that u... Read more

Feeling quite stupid now haha but that was precisely the issue. I must have done it last time I was on the game for some reason. Thank you!!

No problem! At least it was easy to fix this way. ^^ Read more
