General Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • The Colossus Battle Cry and Interceptor Target Beacon now properly debuff enemy resistances again.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented formula bonuses from being applied, which caused unintended damage reduction in certain cases (Steam Vent ability and combo damage inscriptions).
  • Fixed an issue that prevented new weapons (Volt Casters, Blade Slingers, and Pulse Accelerators) from appearing in the Vault.
  • Jarra’s Wrath now requires time before it can be fired again after releasing the trigger. This fix also improves game performance in some instances.

Additional Note: Week 5 of the Cataclysm has been extended and will now end on September 17th.

Humans!

It’s been a super busy summer at the studio, but I wanted to get a note out to share some of the things we’ve been up to.

Anthem

Over the last few weeks we’ve been ramping up our Cataclysm events in Anthem – a season-long event with new arenas, enemies, challenges, and rewards.  We have a big team working on Anthem in both Austin and Edmonton, and while it’s been great to see the community response to Cataclysm, I know there’s a lot more work to do to bring out the full potential of the game.  We have plans for those more fundamental improvements, but they’ll take time.  While the team works towards the longer-term vision of the game, they will also continue to deliver updates to features and content.  I believe in Anthem and would love to see its world grow, evolve, and thrive for years to come.  Thanks for your patience and support as we do the work of constantly improving and expanding the experience.

Once the junk tab is full, no items can be junked until others are marked to keep or salvage.

TAG will walk you through the Eye of Magnus, Britaheim, and Vara arenas with details on solving their challenging puzzles.

Arena 1: The Ring of Magnus
Location: The Approach District
Hint: Think back to the puzzles you completed in the Sunken Cell stronghold.

Freelancers will have their hands full in this arena, as they attempt to interact with each of the rods allowing them to take out the Emitter while simultaneously fighting off attacking Dominion enemies. A combination of speed and good teamwork can really make the difference here.

Look to the Shaper Emitter platform for an indication of which rods you’ve successfully interacted with. Green indicates that the rod’s been activated, and red means it’s in a deactivated state. Time is of the essence; let too much pass and the rods rise ...

In this video, William from YourAnthem takes you through advanced tips and tricks that will help you conquer the Cataclysm’s most challenging content.

Increasing Your Score

Why is increasing your score important? The more points you earn in the Cataclysm, the more Minor Crystals you’ll be awarded and the more you can purchase at the seasonal store (Herschel’s Hut in the Fort Tarsis market). Minor Crystals can be used to purchase Major Crystals and buy War Chests and vanity items. War Chests contain all the non-vanity items you can unlock during the Cataclysm.

So, now you understand the “why,” it’s time for some tips on how to do it!

Tip 1 – Bring your squad along. Not only will it help you when it comes to solving the puzzles, but you’ll be awarded more points for the additional Freelan...

MoonLiteWolf takes you through the basics of Anthem’s challenging new Cataclysm content. Discover how to boost your score, gain the most rewards, why teamwork is so vital to success, and more.

Getting Started

What is a Cataclysm? It’s a limited-time event requiring practice, exploration, teamwork, and communication. To enter the event just select the “Cataclysm” option on the Game Modes menu. Once you fly into the storm your javelin will be buffeted by intense winds, flying debris, and even lightning strikes. You’ll also notice a new bar at the top of your screen that quickly diminishes every second you remain out in the fierce weather. It’s your Stability Bar and as it depletes your health will soon follow.

To avoid damage within the Cataclysm, look for small shielded areas where you’l...

The people of Bastion have much to fear – malevolent creatures roaming the wilds, fanatical Dominion forces testing their strength and fortitude – but nothing inspires as much terror and dread as a Cataclysm. They are one of the most destructive and chaotic manifestations of the Anthem –  leaving devastation and death in their wake. And now, Freelancer, it’s your turn to face the chaos head on and do your best to end it.

We’d like to take a moment to address an article published this morning about BioWare, and Anthem’s development. First and foremost, we wholeheartedly stand behind every current and former member of our team that worked on the game, including leadership. It takes a massive amount of effort, energy and dedication to make any game, and making Anthem would not have been possible without every single one of their efforts. We chose not to comment or participate in this story because we felt there was an unfair focus on specific team members and leaders, who did their absolute best to bring this totally new idea to fans. We didn’t want to be part of something that was attempting to bring them down as individuals. We respect them all, and we built this game as a team.

We put a great emphasis on our workplace culture in our studios. The health and well-being of our team members is something we take very seriously. We have built a new leadership team over the last couple of years, starting with...

Everyone in your squad will be able to get the rewards from all the chests – if, of course, you have the right keys. Once a chest is open, you’ll all be able to get one of these surprise rewards at random:
