Warface: Breakout Dev Tracker

Dear players!

Last week we encouraged you to share with us our suggestions on how to improve the non-technical aspects of the game. We have received quite a bunch of your feedback and have discussed it with developers.

Let’s see which things we will implement and when.

Will be introduced in the nearest updates

1. Harsher penalties for ruiners in Hardcore

Your suggestions: You want a more severe punishment for those leaving the match. You also want a system of penalties for team kills when after the first kill of an ally, all subsequent damage dealt to the teammates returns to the player.

Our feedback: We will introduce a new system of punishment in the nearest update. We will see how it goes and if you are satisfied with it. If not, we will continue improving the system until hardcore matches become a place for competitive matches, not for team killing for fun.

2. Nerf SMGs and automatic pistols + boost shotguns

Your suggestions: You’d like to see a greater variability regard...

Many of you have been waiting for Season 1. You have trained well in Hardcore matches, but are you now ready to challenge other competitive players in Ranked games?

At last, we are proud to announce that Season 1 of Warface: Breakout starts on June, 18.

What is a season?

Starting from June 18th there will be always a season active for Warface: Breakout. Let’s briefly talk about what these seasons are:

  • Seasons will be free for everyone to participate, seasonal progression will be available for everyone;
  • A season lasts approximately 90 days, so there will be a total of 4 seasons a year (3 seasons in 2020);
  • Each season will include new features, quality of life changes, and a lot of new cosmetic items obtainable via seasonal progression;
  • Each season will include three ranked ladders with unique rewards obtainable only during this season in Ranked matches;
  • Seasons will also feature DLCs containing cosmetic items.

What does Season 1 include?

Ranked matches

The main feature of Seas...

Dear players,

A week has passed since our last update on game issues. One patch has already been installed, another one has been sent out for verification. Let’s see which features have been fixed and which ones will be fixed in the future.

Fixed in the previous update

Here are the issues that have been fixed with the previous update installed last Saturday. These changes are already in the game.

  • Squads no longer get matched to opposing teams;
  • Enemies’ footsteps are now louder than before, so you will hear them running up behind you with a knife;
  • Voice announcer no longer says “Overtime” when it’s already the end of the game;
  • We added a server in Sydney - the ping to Singapore was way too high from that region;
  • The server with the lowest ping is now automatically chosen when you log into the game;
  • It is now impossible to get free armor in warm-up in Hardcore matches.

Top issue - Hit registration and movement

We’ll start with the problem that you most often report to us - the h...

Dear players!

We are aware that you are all impatient about the next patch! And we are looking forward to it too.

However, it is not enough just to come up with a patch, one needs to verify it for both consoles, so that all of our players would share the same game experience.

Unfortunately, we did not take into account how much time it could take to verify the patch, so we won’t be able to deliver it today. Yet we’ll work hard at the weekend to install it as soon as possible and we will keep in touch daily renewing the ETA of the patch.

Thank you for your understanding!

Yours,

Warface: Breakout team

UPD: Tomorrow, guys. Just confirmed :)

Dear players,

Thank you for reporting different game issues to us - today our team is ready to share with you the updates on most of them.

Let’s start!

Game freezes

After a series of tests we managed to figure out the cause of most freezes - this happens due to several interfaces loading at the same time.

In our next patch coming to both consoles this week we have reworked some of the interfaces to avoid it, so this should fix most of the freezes happening in the match. In our next patches we will keep dealing with this problem, making the freezes happen less and less frequently and - eventually - disappear altogether.

Movement and hit registration

This nasty problem that frustrates both you and us has a top priority in our team right now. We are already working on improving the hit registration, applying and testing different types of netcode and movement patterns, and once we deal with the freezes problem, our work on netcode will be twice as intensive.

Just like with freeze...

Pinned that one, a very nice list.

Very good list of issues and suggestions, noted it, thank you.

Hi everyone!

Many of you have already played enough Warface: Breakout to reach level 50, which is commonly considered the end of the progress. However, this is not the case.

Mastery levels

In fact, it is only the beginning: after you reach level 50, you start gaining Mastery levels. There is an infinite number of Mastery levels, so your progress will continue no matter how long you play. Each mastery level requires 200.000 experience.

Reward boxes

You'll also get a reward box every time you get 2 mastery levels. No worries - this will also keep happening infinitely or until you get everything available from the reward boxes.

So, there is progress after level 50 :) Next time we will tell you how armor works in Warface: Breakout and what do you need it for.

Thanks for playing our game!

Yours,

Warface: Breakout Team

They are not ignored. It's just that we don't have really much to say about it right now other than the fact that we are working on it (which really happens).

Thanks for letting me know that it looks that we ignore them though, really not intended to be like that.

Hi everyone!

So today we have achieved a very important milestone - 1000 subs in this subreddit.

We hope you have a good time in our game, despite some of its flaws you guys highlighted here. We truly believe that with your support and feedback we'll be able to make our game even more enjoyable for you - smooth, fun and competitive.

Thank you for being with us and enjoy your stay here and in our game. Hope it's only the beginning of our long journey :)

Yours,

Warface Team

Thanks, we'll note these :)

> get out the ironing board and make this game look like a kids shirt on his first job interview> kill screen appears to be calculated based on where a headless chicken dies on a roulette wheel

"This... does put a smile on my face."

Feedback is always good, but that kind of feedback makes our day as a dev team. Thanks!

Wow. Will investigate that one.

Hi everyone
We apologize to those who are experiencing this bug. It is one of the top issues we are working on. While we don't have the update eta just yet, please know we are working to bring fixes for this and other issues as soon as we can.

Feedback in a meme format? Thumbs up ;)

P.S. Thanks guys, we'll keep working to make the game better for you.

Hello everyone!

Yesterday we found out the reason for some of the freezes you edperience - the HDR function. Here is a small guide on how you can switch off the HDR function for PlayStation and Xbox

How to switch off HDR on PlayStation

It is impossible to switch it off in the game interface, as PlayStation settings override the game settings. That is why the HDR is setting is always "inactive".

  1. Navigate to the main screen of your PlayStation;
  2. Navigate to Settings, then to Sound and Screen.
  3. Select Video Output Settings, then Video Output Information.
  4. Switch off HDR

How to switch off HDR on Xbox

  1. Navigate to the graphic settings of the game
  2. Set HDR to "Off"

Please note that it won't fix ALL the freezes, but it should mitigate some of them. The fix of other freezes (both micro freezes and longer ones, like several seconds or so) is currently under development.

Thank you for all your feedback and thanks for playing our game!

Yours,

Breakout Team
