Happy launch day.
I’m going with it being Solar since Kevin Yanes said the Synaptic Spear is a way to test philosophies of Arc 3.0.
And unless everything I’ve been told about game development is a lie, there is no way we go from testing philosophy in one season, to getting its entire rework in the next season.
Just some inside baseball, but we often work on releases WAY ahead of time. Like right now we're wrapping work on S18 and starting S19.
So I wouldn't read too much into anything I say ever because on top of the above facts I also LOVE to fuck with expectations. ;)
Literally a stealth nerf lmao. Someone had to make this post public for you to acknowledge a nerf.
We often think of this community as one we expect to do damage breakdowns on even the smallest of changes to the sandbox. So we never expect or believe we could sneak even the smallest change past y'all.
Accidents happen, we're human after all and like I mentioned it was a massive patch. One of the drawbacks of a scope like that is the increase in likelyhood we will miss notes like this. We try our best not to but these things happen.
We're want to continue to make meaningful changes and be communicative about them. I hope that what you've seen via action this last year shows you that were not interested in sneaking by anything. We will always try our best at keeping the line of communication open. Even if the change stings.
Read moreThe clarification is appreciated. But I will miss, very much, having a counter to the insane shields a barrier servitor puts out.
Can we ask about shatter dive eating melee charges while you're here?
Known bug that has a fix in the pipe. More on that in the nearish future.
This is not a bug or a stealth nerf. Genuinely missed it in the patch notes and is by design.
Goal was to make it so the casting warlock still got it's benefit but the team which was erroneously getting it no longer did. This lead to DPS accelerations that we did not intend for or could meaningfully sustain season over season.
The interaction for focusing lens should still function as normal with other damage focused supers. Apologies for missing this patch note, it was a huge patch with lots of moving parts.
Pardon our dust!
This is a great thread and you're totally spot on that the current cooldown isn't congruent with our goals for build crafting. I've shared this with the team but to be clear we don't have an ETA for any changes.
They could have literally just reverted the Vex buff. Hell, Chris Proctor literally said on the Firing Range podcast 'the guy who was gonna handle Vex was chomping at the bit to buff it' and 'it probably came out a little too hot'. Bitch, you're the sandbox lead, and you literally promised us that after Stasis you would be very watchful over overtuned stuff. What the fuck? That buff should have been killed in its crib. Especially since the buck stops with him.
Chris didn't say that I did and I said that last week with regard to abilities (in the ability focused podcast). The vex buff came out the start of this season.
Maybe chill with your deployments of the Jesse Pinkmans.
This is the type of post we hoped would spring up as a result of our changes. We want buildcrafting to really matter especially in PvE. Excellent thread!
This is a bug, team is looking at it.

/u/cozmo23, is Redrix's Claymore a DLC-exclusive?
No. Claymore is part of S3 which is available to everyone who owns Destiny 2
Hey guys, we're actively working on changes to the entire streak system. While I don't have details or a date for you I wanted to stop by and let you know we hear your feedback and are working on changes. <3
Just so everyone is aware we have identified and fixed this bug in update 1.2.3. We apologize for any inconvenience. <3
Congrats on your Claymore. I read this. Soon(tm)
Josephine works at Bungie and has a dog named Luna. Pretty neat :)
Luna's Howl is not based on any Bungie employee. While this is a crazy coincidence Luna's Howl was something the team wanted to do to showcase a different side of the world and to Shaxx. Happy it's resonating with ya'll!!
The John Wick comment is gold. <3
I wholeheartedly appreciate posts like this. Thank you <3
With that said, Luna met her fate at a very inopportune time.
Josef didn't have the time or resources to give his friend the resting place she deserved.

Hey man, this is fucking awesome. I love seeing comprehensive guides like this!
Oh look it's a!... Wait who are you and what do you do? (just being witty but would like to know what you do 👀, unless if it's top secret)
It's fine, I lead the sandbox group on Destiny. Thanks for playing!
Yep, this is something on our radar.
