Being ganked is an inflection point in retention statistics.

If you’re ganked, and stick around, you’re more likely to stick around for longer. This is what the stats show. There’s a survivor bias.
If you’re ganked, and leave, well, you’re gone.

And when you’re ganked, a fair number of people just leave.

This is actually part of what the ‘grief counselling’ thing is about. It’s the major loss which, if you ‘survive’ it, means (statistically) you’re more likely to stick around. So they’re going to try and help people survive it. Let them know why they died and so on. Provide the social support that many newbies don’t have at that time.

Been asking this for a few times.

Personally I’d like something like a medal, assigned to all characters on the account, or similar. Mostly so people could check up on it. (in a voluntary way. as it has to be exposed by the player) Because I do not doubt that larger organisations would like to be able to require their higher ups to be using 2FA.

You don’t have to change anything.

An options has been added to make life easier for people with multiple accounts. (That’s the shared 2FA key. basicly, rather than having one code per account, you can share it between multiple accounts. Not as secure over all, but better than no 2FA at all)

CCP have also arranged for a free 6 month trial of a service to store all your passwords for you, if you desire to use it. You don’t have to.

Also, CCP check your password against a large list of passwords which have been stolen from other sites, and warns you if you’re using one which has been used elsewhere. (by you, or someone else.) This is done in a secure fashion, with CCP never giving your password to someone else. You don’t have to do anything (unless your password is compromised, at which point they’ll tell you when you use it)

The rest is all behind the scenes stuff, tightening up security. You don’t have to do anything.
